Before & After: Family Photos
In the previous post, I shared the new “Squeaky Clean” action. In this post, I thought I’d share a few more examples using Kristen’s beautiful family. I believe these were taken on Easter. If I’m honest, I kept putting these off because I was a bit intimidated by the exposure and didn’t want to screw it up. I may still have screwed them up, but I gave it my best effort.

With each of these, I started by selecting the background and doing a levels adjustment. I then ran the Squeaky Clean action (adding a brightening step) and adjusted each layer based on the need. I did a light red skin correction and then ran an unsharp mask at 5% for the web.

This first one, it may be too warm (I’ve tried editing a few times and can’t seem to get it just right).  I might try one more time, but this is where I’m at now.
I like the outcome of this next one a little better.
What a sweet family portrait!
And finally…Kristen threw me a curve ball and wanted me to do some heavy cloning to remove a bench. I can’t say that this is the best result, but I gave it a try.
Alright, that’s all for today/tonight. Stay tuned for this weekend, I’m hoping to take some pictures of my own this weekend before I leave for California on Monday.

Ashley- I think you did great! THe main thing that frustrated me was the overexposure of the shots SOOC. I couldn’t seem to get them to look right. I like your edits though. Cloning out is tough! I’m about to post a picture I’ve been working on- I did some MAJOR cloning… you’ll have to tell me what you think. Thanks so much for working on these! It was fun to see what you came up with!
