Wee Bit Wednesday
Guess what I found?

I was scrolling through Google Reader, when I saw that my friend Christy over at Skinned Knees (you know Christy…she just made my awesome new button and because I love it so much, I’m going to share it again) had joined Leigh Ashley for a blog hop called “A Wee Bit of Me Wednesdays.”

Ramblings and Photos

Leah Ashley reminded me of something that I’ve been meaning to say. I’ve also noticed lately that I’ve gotten a lot of comments with “no-reply” email addresses, which means I can’t write my friends back. Even worse, in some cases, I have to really hunt down where the blogger sending me a comment is coming from…and I really enjoy responding to comments. With that said, if you’d like to be able to receive reply emails to your comments (from anyone, not just me) just complete the following steps:
  1. From your dashboard, click “edit profile”.
  2. Checkmark the box “show my email address”.
  3. Make sure to save your changes.
Thanks for the reminder Leah Ashley – and now hopefully I will be able to respond to more comments. Yay! Now, onto the blog hop…
  1. If you could go on a road trip anywhere with one person, dead or alive, who would it be and where would you go? I always love traveling with my husband. We can sometimes get on one another’s nerves, but he’s a great travel buddy. If we go shopping, he’ll even carry my bags.
  2. If you were stranded on a desert island, which one person would you bring with you? Again, my husband.
  3. What’s your earliest memory? That’s a tough one. I have this really weird memory of being at the beach with my mom and my aunt…and her family. I was young and I think I may have pooped in my bathing suit. I think I did one of those weird, crouch in the corner moves trying to go unnoticed. But I’d been in the ocean and after a while, the secret was out and I was soooo embarrassed. How strange that that’s the first thing I think of.
  4. What’s the best advice you’ve ever received? Contentment is happiness.
  5. If you could have an endless supply of food, what would you get? That’s a tough one. I love my cinnamon toast crunch, but I also love pizza. Pizza.
  6. Would you rather be a famous musician or a famous actor? Musician! Although, my husband keeps telling me that one day he’s going to be a rap star. He even went out and got recording equipment. At some point, he’s going to set it up and we’ll see what he’s really made of. Next Eminem anyone?
  7. If you could be a star athlete in any sport, which would you choose? Hmmm…I’m not much of an athlete. I used to play tennis, so I guess tennis.
  8. If you were offered the job of u.s. president, would you take it? Probably not. I don’t want that kind of responsibility or stress.
  9. Would you rather have the ability to fly or the ability to breathe underwater? I want to fly – I think that’d be awesome!
  10. What music are you listening to today? I haven’t really been listening to anything today, but have you guys heard the B.O.B. album yet? Buy it…it’s incredible!
So that’s me, but since a blog post is always better with pictures, let me show you something else I’ve joined. For those of you looking for creative outlets, let me introduce the Artist Collection Laboratory (affectionately called the ACoLab). The ACoLab is a place for artists (photographers, mixed-media, painters, musicians, etc) to share and be inspired.
About a month or two ago, the blog organizer, Anika, invited me to start participating. Believe it or not, I waited through a couple of the creative prompts before I was ready to jump in. When I saw the last prompt, “Hot Summer Day,” I felt that I was ready to jump on board. All of the entries were just posted, and here is mine:
Summer Heat 1
This is another photograph that I considered from the same series. The more I looked at it, the more I felt like this wasn’t HOT enough, so I obviously went with the first entry.
Summer Heat 2
I share the ACoLab with you today because I know there are a lot more creative people out there looking for creative outlets. If this sounds like something you might be interested in, come check it out. Our August prompt is “Bits of the Past, Pieces of the Future,” and the deadline for entries is August 8th.

That’s all for today, have a good one!

thanks for your nice comment, your blog has been fun to explore :)

So funny! I was just getting ready to post about this exact same thing (including the Skinned Knees part) on my blog, but Jae woke up!

Ashley — I am amazed at your ability to comment on so many blogs (including mine) as well as participate in so many…uh…”projects”/challenges. I’m lucky if I get enough time to download my pictures and run a quick edit– let alone share them.

I enjoyed your beach pictures a few posts back especially the one you edited that was a bit underexposed (with the painted face) — thought you did a good job “saving it”

i love visiting your blog, there is always new and interesting stuff everyday.

…yes the first photo is hotter.

and to answer your question, im using layer mask on my composite most of the time.

Let me know when your hubby’s album comes out, I will buy a copy! ;)

Thank you so very much for offering to help, following me, & the comment you left on my page! You’re so sweeet!
In the next few days, I’m going to work on your tutorial & see what happens… I can’t wait!

    Thanks again,
    Tricia
    Bluff Area Daily!

LOL you pooped in your swimsuit! So funny. Things we do as kids.

I’m still caught up on traveling with a dead person, I’ll pick a live one any day, lol. I love traveling with my husband and we do it as often as we can!

Question – can you specifically reply to a comment right on your comment page? I’ve gotten several emails where my comment was at the top and they responded to it. Do you find someone’s email address on their blog and copy and paste their comment into your email to them OR just find their email address on their profile and send an email that way. I feel like I’ve missed something!

I love seeing all of your projects! I am so happy to have you in the Lab- you bring so much talent and inspiration!! Thanks for the great shout-out.
PS- love your new button too!

I love your new button. I’m getting it for my blogroll. :)

Love the button! Adding it to my page :)

I LOL’ed at the eminem thing. hahaa oh husbands. they are funny ones.

Word of unsolicitied advice; take all the road trips you can while you dont have kids. They are equivalent to stabbing yourself in the arm 10 times once you have a couple screaming/crying kids in the backseat. LOL

what a cool post. I almost did this yesterday but ran out of computer time…

hey ashley!! thanks for joining in this week!! i love your first memory!! so funny!! :) but not at the time obviously!
