I think this is my favorite non-photography meme of the week. I enjoy the randomness of the questions, but I’m sure there’s more you’d like to know about me. Ask me anything and I’ll make a point to answer your questions.
***By the way, did you notice that I rolled over 400 followers in the past two days? Holy Cow! I’m so thankful to have such awesome readers…I mean, FRIENDS. You guys have truly made this blogging experience awesome and I thank you for being a part of it. I know that I should probably do something to celebrate, and I’m working on it. Promise. ***

{one} how would you describe your style? Classic and conservative with a hint of whimsy? I was just telling a few friends of mine last night that I remember the days of loving to shop and really enjoying the process of dressing up. These days, when I shop…I think, “can I wear this to work and at home?” How lame is that? I’m convinced that when I become a mom that I’ll emerge as the fun and whimsical spirit that I’ve been hiding for the past 6.5 years.
{two} what would your perfect day look like? I would get to sleep in until 8:30/9:00 am (because that’s sleeping in to me). I’d get up, have a cup of chai latte and watch Good Morning America (I might have to wake up a little earlier). I would log on to my computer and catch up on email and any morning blog posts. I would then get ready for the day and do whatever I wanted…whether it be shop, go on a photo scavenger hunt, have lunch with a friend…whatever. Now, if we’re really painting perfection, I think I’d like to live on a lake and I’d like to sit out on the back porch and watch the sun set each night.
{three} what would be the best workplace perk? You’re assuming that I want to work. Actually, when we start our family, the best “workplace” perk will be “working” from home and enjoying the “perfect day” everyday. One can dream, right?
{four} if you could have the starring role in one movie, which would it be? So, when I was little, I really wanted to be “baby” from Dirty Dancing. I practiced that lift with my sister so many times…and yeah, we didn’t do a good job with it. At this point in my life, I have no idea…but I would pretty much like for Jennifer Aniston to play me if there was ever a movie made about me.
{five} what tv show do you wish would go off the air for good? I don’t watch a lot of the “love” shows or even some of the silly “reality” shows that are out right now. No offense if you do like these shows (The Hills, Jersey Shore, etc), but they aren’t for me and I wouldn’t be heartbroken if they disappeared forever. On the other hand, there are some great shows that I want to bring back. Can we talk about Six Feet Under, Parenthood (this may still come back but I heard rumors of it going off the air) and Carnivale?
{six} chocolate or vanilla? In general, chocolate…if we’re talking Ice Cream and those are my only two choices…vanilla.
{seven} if you could date any celebrity, who would it be? In college, I would have said Ty Pennington (I seriously kept a framed picture of him in my room)…but only when he was on Trading Spaces. I’m married now, so it would probably be frowned upon if I was “dating” someone and honestly, I really don’t know.
{eight} if you could have been the author of any book, which would it have been? I used to think I would be a children’s book author, and I still think it’s possible. My mom always said I was good at telling stories and I used to create interesting illustrations. I love reading my teenage vampire books, but I don’t know if I’d be good at writing them.
{nine} what’s your favorite type of flower? Star Gazer Lilly…hands down.
{ten} what do you think is your most attractive feature? My lips…although for my entire life, my mom and sister have made fun of them. They’re really full and I understand that some women pay to have lip injections so I guess it’s nice that mine are already kind of big.

Speaking of ME, I recently took a self-portrait for a couple of reasons and I thought I’d finally share it with you (I’ve actually been really nervous to share). I was working with the prompt, “Bits of My Past, Pieces of My Future.” I was really struggling with the concept and then started to think outside the box, and started looking closer at myself.
So here I am, no makeup…my hair still drying from the shower (I did not edit my face in any way). I look at myself and see the scars of my teenage years, the hints of dark circles and the beginnings of wrinkles…but then I look closer and see many years ahead. I see children, I see joy, I see laughter, I see hope for a brighter future.
This self-portrait was my first time using my new wireless remote trigger. It took me a little while to get used to it, but it now allows me to be in the picture without holding my camera up in the mirror or running to my spot within 10 seconds. I think I can be pretty far away from my camera as well – 100 feet or more, I think.
This is my POTW (picture of the week) entry for “mood”. This is also my ACoLab entry for August (the other entries should be posted next week, I think). And, I’m also linking up to Facing Myself over at The Old Nichols Farm.
Have a great night!
