Wee-Bit Wednesday, Wishful Pictures and Blog Awards

{one} who’s the funniest person you know? Hmmm…well I am friends with Fortune Feimster – we went to college together and were roommates one summer. You probably would recognize her from Last Comic Standing. She really deserved to go on further than she did, so I hope to see more of her soon.

{two} were you a michael jackson fan? Michael Jackson, the King of Pop…absolutely. Michael Jackson outside of that, not really.

{three} what was your favorite book as a child? I was a huge Ramona series fan. I was a huge reader and always had a book in hand.

{four} what’s the most delicious meal you’ve ever eaten? One Valentine’s day, my husband and I went to eat at Fleming’s Steakhouse. The meal was good, but the dessert was what really stands out in my mind. We saw that they had cookies and milk on the menu. We ordered it up. They brought out this gigantic plate full of warm chocolate chip cookies as well as double chocolate and other variations. We ate almost every last bite and to have milk with it…perfection.

{five} if you could eliminate on thing you do each day in the bathroom so you never had to do it again, what would it be? I think we can all agree that shaving should be completely eliminated. In fact, I rarely shave during the winter.

{six} if you could ask barak obama one question, what would it be? How’s that hopey changy thing going for ya? I’m just kidding. I don’t know…I think we really beat up our presidents and that anyone who’s in office is going to have stones thrown his or her way. That’s just how we are.

{seven} what’s the best place near you to get a drink? I used to love this place called Mosaic. I was a regular…you could count on me to be there every Wednesday and every weekend. I don’t really drink now, so home.

{eight} what kind of music can you just not stand to listen to? I have a general appreciation for most types of music, but I have to be in the mood for it. To be honest with you, I’m not a huge country music fan…but there are songs I like.

{nine} who and when was your first kiss? What type of kiss are we talking about? I had a kiss on the hand in kindergarten. Actually, the first real kiss I had was from this guy named Steven during camp. We were probably playing truth or dare – you know how kids are. He became one of my best friends for many years (well camp best friends). I haven’t seen him in years.

{ten} what 3 things do you think will become obsolete in the next ten years? That’s a great question. SAT scores (I think we’ll find a better way to assess students and better place them in schools where they can be successful and productive citizens),  “wired” connections (I think we’ll operate in a very virtual, wireless world) and laptops (well maybe – but I think we’ll move towards the ipad type of model).

Because every post is better with a photo, I thought I’d re-share this photo of my niece sticking her tongue out. I thought it would be appropriate for The Wishful Lamb’s new photography challenge: Wishful Pictures. Her theme this week is tongues.

The Rules:
  1. One submission per person
  2. Photograph must have been taken by you
  3. Must link back to page via button
  4. When submitting use permalink only
  5. Photo must be related to this week’s theme
While I’m here, I’d also like to thank Joy for the “I Heart Your Blog Award,” Meg O. for the “One Lovely Blog Award,” and Angela for the “Beautiful Blogger Award.” Each of you are so sweet to think of me.
I think that I’m supposed to tell you seven things about myself and nominate others for the award…but, I just told you 10 things about myself and I may have to come back to nominate others. I always suck at that part of the blog award process because there are so many blogs out there that really deserve these awards. You know, if you’re a regular commenter, and you know who you are…please take one of these awards (or all three – there are a good 30-40 of you) and proudly display it. If you want, I can even come back and add your name to a list. I am so thankful to have each and every one of you!

So glad you entered :) I love your photo it is adorable<3<3

    LOVE this theme! Great capture.

Number 6 made me laugh out loud! So very true all around. And Number 4 made me drool a little (as awful as that sounds!). That is the first time I have ever heard of a restaurant serving milk and cookies, but boy does that sound absolutely delish!

Your niece is an absolute cutie too!

love learning more about you :) six did make me lol and i’m secretly waiting for the Ramona movie to come out. now i’m going to make chocolate chip cookies ;)

I am literally laughing out loud and nodding my head at the same time at #6. FOR REAL. Congrats on the awards!!!

A: I miss cookies and now I want them in a bad bad way and B: congrats on all of the awards. You work hard and have a amazing blog. You deserve it!

oooh, the cookies and milk in a restaurant..that sound seriously delicious!

Congrats on all your awards! :)

Oooh Ramona books! Huge fan here as well. I’m not sure how I feel about them doing a movie…I just don’t see how they can do it justice.

And cookies and milk at a restaurant? That is brilliant! Why aren’t more places doing that?

Congrats on the awards! Your blog is indeed beautiful! You deserved it!

Congrats on the awards!! And I loved getting to know a little bit more about you! :-)

Congrats on the awards! You truly deserve them and now I am craving milk and cookies! I got to check this Flemmings place out! :c)

#10 is such a thought provoking answer. I really enjoyed it.

As your photo- fabulous & the awards- deserving! :)

love milk and cookies! sooo yum and yes you do deserve these lovely awards… nice post!!

I loved Ramona! I still have my old books. They sit on Georgia’s bookshelf for her someday enjoyment. And yum to the milk and cookies – absolutely divine! Congrats on the award posts – your blog is so wonderful!

LOL at #6!!! Yum, I would love some milk and cookies right now!

That is so cool that a restaurant serves warm cookies and milk! Talk about comfort food :-)

I always enjoy reading these posts – thanks for sharing. And I agree with everyone prior to me – you definitely deserve the awards!

I also loved Ramona LOL! I also really could use that dessert you where talking about! Yumm! That sounds so good! I love the picture of your niece it is too cute! She is so lucky she is going to have so many great photos of her to show people when she gets older!

Congrats on the many awards!! I loved the questions and I loved your answers!! I hope you’re right about the SAT scores. I proctor practice SAT’s on the weekends and unfortunately, it seems to me that whoever can afford the ridiculously priced tutor are the ones that make the cut. Some of my students pay close $10K in tutoring services just to get the right scores to get into their Ivy League of choice. If they are dishing how so much, then how are the regular kids that can’t afford the one-on-one sessions going to make it :o/ It just doesn’t seem fair.

YAY! You’re welcome! And congrats on the other awards!!! You rock my face!

love posts like this – it’s so fun finding out little tid bits of info from each other -
    oh by the way -
    i work at flemings -
    but in Tampa –
    I’ve been there 10yrs –
you must come down to tampa and see me now!!!

i like this idea! i enjoyed reading this!

Ramona Quimby was awesome. I sorta want to see the movie, but I don’t want the Ramona legacy to be tarnished forever by Hollywood.

I agree with what you said about Obama. The hopey changey thing and about he’s just trying to do his job. I don’t think I would want the job. Plus they all blow smoke up our bumms during the election season. Telling us what we want to hear. I don’t understand why people are so surprised were their candidates short comings.

dang it all! another challenge. I have tongues covered :) now I have to enter!
