Scavenger Hunt Sunday
I’ve had another busy weekend…yesterday, I shot a children’s portrait session (can’t wait to process and share those photos with you) and last night, we attended my friend Jennifer’s engagement party. It continues to be busy at work, but I’ve been looking forward to Scavenger Hunt Sunday all week…even if my photos do suck (can you tell I’m lacking self confidence right now?). Anyways, I’m really excited to see everyone’s interpretations of the scavenger hunt items and I’m hoping we pick up a few new bloggers along the way.
Scavenger Hunt Sunday
The rules are simple:
  1. Anyone can participate.
  2. You’re encouraged to take five new photos this week for the challenge.
  3. If you get stumped, you may use one photo from your archive (although I’m not too strict about it – I do my best to take fresh shots).
  4. Link up here on Sunday (or Tuesday at the latest) – you can use the button above.
  5. Have fun!
Now for my interpretation of the items this week:

1. Miniature
Miniature berries
On my way into the office, I noticed these berries. Amongst all the acorns on the ground, they looked “miniature.” Yeah…that’s all I’ve got. I brought these bad boys home with me for a little photo session.

2. Water Droplet
Water Droplet
Let’s call this a failed attempt at creating my own water droplet. However, after a little post-processing and creative editing, I think it looks rather interesting. When I have a little more time on my hands, I’m going to re-shoot this one.

3. Bedhead
Bedhead
I took this shot last Sunday morning. On Saturday night, I wore my hair up in pin curls – I apologize for not sharing a picture of that moment…I honestly didn’t take a picture. Anyways…whenever I take my hair down, I’m left with this tousled mess.

4. Colorful
Colorful RS
There were DOTS at the office by the receptionist desk. There was a bunch of red and one yellow. I thought they were pretty colorful and YUMMY! I ate them immediately following this picture.

5. Eyes
Doll f4 Take 2 edit RS
I had a portrait session yesterday (and potentially a nice “eye” shot)…but I haven’t had a chance to process those photos yet, so I decided to edit one of my doll shots from a couple of weeks ago (as part of my Simplicity SLR Class assignments) to demonstrate that you can capture catch lights in a doll’s eyes.

What were your interpretations of the items this week? I can’t wait to check them out. Be sure to load your pictures in your blog (or your Flickr photostream) and link up at the bottom of this post.  Feel free to grab a button to display on your blog along with your scavenger hunt items. The linky will be open until Tuesday night at midnight (EST).

Before I give you your items for next week, I should point out that I screwed up the POTW order (if you don’t know what this is…don’t worry about it) and gave you miniature ahead of golden. I just wanted to admit my faults and move on. Now that that’s off my chest…if you didn’t participate this week, but want to participate next week, here are your items:
  1. Golden
  2. Smell
  3. Fruit
  4. Simple
  5. Sports
Have a great week and happy shooting!

I actually really like your water droplets. I like the composition and editing here, and I could not get droplets in focus for the life of me so I’m impressed by that :)

And I wish my bedhead looked like yours when I woke up, but let’s just say there’s a reason I used my cat for that shot instead.

You are too hard on yourself! Your photos are great! And I love the water droplet!!!

I wish I looked like that in the morning! lol

What are you talking about you goofball?! That’s right…GOOFBALL. Your water shot is awesome! Love the processing, and you’re right, you made it very interesting. I’m going to post how I did mine once I figure out the best way. I know there’s a better way than how I’m doing it. Might even post a pic of my set-up. Great pics! :-) Happy Sunday!

I tried photographing dripping water a few weeks ago and had a major fail. Can’t wait to see your retakes and tips on how to do it. Your bedhead is the most glamorous looking bedhead I’ve seen. Great self-portrait.

Those little berries are wonderful. I love the bedhead, water droplet, color… ok, I love all of them. But, the doll’s a little creepy. ;D

Can’t wait to see what you come up with for the chalk challenge for I heart faces.

I love the water droplet picture! I also love the colorful one because I am IN LOVE with Dots and could eat a whole box by myself!

We are our own worst critics but I think that your photos are fantastic….so please don’t be too hard on yourself….it is awww inspiring to follow your blog….my favourites for this week are eyes and your water droplets….

I think you are way to hard on yourself, but then I covet your ability..:)

Love the doll eye shot, and the fact that you quickly ate the dots… I resemble that.

Oh, these are so wonderful. I am really going to try to stay focused and play along next week!

Oh I would really would have loved to play along this week but like you stated, life sometimes gets in the way. Getting ready for next Sunday’s post.

Oh, the water droplets are so “dainty”… almost like they’re lifting up their skirts a bit as they gracefully drip from the tap. :)

Sorry, Ashley. I meant to post this yesterday (even though I dated it Sunday’s date), but my internet went down after I took my pictures!!! Great timing, and have I mentioned that I love technology? :-) Great pictures!!

I think all the baby doll pictures from the class look so bizarre! Maybe it’s just an odd subject. I am inspired by your photos! I should do this one week…if only I could find the time! I only did 2 of the 6 assignments this week…life is just spinning to fast!

I really enjoyed this new (to me) photo challenge! It was easy enough to actually complete and yet challenged me to look with a different perspective. Thanks for commenting on my post, too!
