Scavenger Hunt Sunday
Oh what a weekend (I’m actually writing this before the wedding, so I’m making an assumption that I had fun last night…I’m sure I did)! I’ve mentioned throughout the week that it’s been pretty busy, but I have enjoyed getting back to some state of normal (heck, at least I was at home). Anyways, I’m really excited to see everyone’s interpretations of the scavenger hunt items and I’m hoping we pick up a few new bloggers along the way.

Scavenger Hunt Sunday
The rules are simple:
  1. Anyone can participate.
  2. You’re encouraged to take five new photos this week for the challenge.
  3. If you get stumped, you may use one photo from your archive (although I’m not too strict about it – I do my best to take fresh shots).
  4. Link up here on Sunday (or Tuesday at the latest) – you can use the button above.
  5. Have fun!
Now for my interpretation of the items this week:

1. Wish or Dream
I WIsh
I wish I could have taken pictures at the Black Crowes concert on Friday night. When we arrived at the Raleigh Amphitheater, we were told that the Black Crowes made a special request to not have any cameras during the show…and many people were sent back to the car to put their cameras away. The website said no “professional cameras,” (or rather no cameras with detachable lenses) so I knew not to bring my DSLR, but I did bring my point and shoot. Although I was able to conceal my camera going into the show, it became very obvious that the event staff would harass anyone that used their camera (including camera phones). I was able to snap this shot before the show got started.

2. Clean
Clean RS
I always feel so clean after I brush my teeth. I was trying a little something different with my processing on this shot. Hopefully, you can tell that this is my toothbrush with my favorite cinnamon toothpaste. What’s that blob in the background…yes, that would be me.

3. Currency
Credit Cards
In June, I took a pretty neat shot of some change for the June 2010 Photo Hunt. I considered recreating that shot (or something similar) but decided to change it up this week. I rarely carry cash with me…I too easily spend it and then have no idea where my money went. I prefer to use credit cards because I’m able to track my spending and pay off the entire balance at the end of the month (I could go into lecture mode, but if you use credit cards, it’s really important to pay off your balance each month). I’m also able to earn “points” that I can use towards fun photography gear.

I decided for “currency,” to take a picture of the credit cards in my wallet. I was completely bored with my shot so I played around with my processing for a unique effect. The last time I tried something different like this, it received mixed reviews. So…tell me what you think.

4. Pair
Pair RS
I teased you the other day by saying I bought new shoes for the wedding this weekend. My dress is navy blue and I really hoped to wear red shoes to the wedding but I didn’t find any that spoke my name. However, I did find this cute pair in coral that I thought looked nice with my dress…and they were on sale!
5. Square
Square RS
Whenever we have a training program at work, we have our food catered. That also means that delicious desserts find their way into my office. On Thursday we had brownies…as you can see, they were cut into squares.

What were your interpretations of the items this week? I can’t wait to check them out. Be sure to load your pictures in your blog (or your Flickr photostream) and link up at the bottom of this post.  Feel free to grab a button to display on your blog along with your scavenger hunt items. The linky will be open until Tuesday night at midnight (EST). If you didn’t participate this week, but want to participate next week, here are your items.
  1. Miniature
  2. Water Droplet
  3. Bedhead
  4. Colorful
  5. Eyes
Have a great week and happy shooting!

I’ve been trying to get my husband to join in for a few weeks now. Finally he did it!

Your square photo is brilliant. Very retro. I had no clue that your clean photo was a toothbrush. Really great photos this week!

Ashley, your photos are great. I bet the Black Crowes concert was awesome! As far as your credit card pic…it just always amazes me what you can do with editing.
    The shoes are beautiful!

I am slightly drooling over those shoes! :)

I love the way you captured this weeks words! I will be posting mine soon! I just have to capture a couple new pictures first to cap off my 5! Great job!

I love shoe photo! And I love the clean photo, but I don’t know what I think of cinnamon toothpaste. I’m minty all the way.
I didn’t get myself together this week, but I’ll be back next week for sure!

I absolutely LOVE the shoes! Both the shoes and the shot.

I have finally joined your fantastic challenge. I love all your pictures, a great selection especially the shoes.

I just LOVE how you shot those shoes…. Awesome!

What a great post, very creative
    processing…love it!
My favorite is the shoe picture,
    really awesome…

Nice pictures as always and I am sure you will look fantastic in your new shoes, really pretty.

A girl after my own heart with the shoes. I also love the dove tail work on the dresser. The shot of the tooth brush I first thought it was a lollipop stick you had licked (almost) clean. :)

I’m totally with you on using credit cards. I prefer using them to cash… because I earn points on them! And I also pay off the entire balance at the end of the month, too. :)

I LOVE your “pair” photo… lovely processing!

I’m with you on the credit cards too. I never carry cash, and saving points is how I purchased my DSLR!

I’m not sure about the processing on the credit cards. I think I’d need to see the original to know what I prefer, but I think it’s a really cool look and adds more interest as it is now.

    Love the square shot!

Love your shots this week! I love the “pair” shot of the shoes…awesome processing!

Nice job Ashley, I love the way the brownie looks on the blue background and what CUTE shoes! (I am a converse girl myself…)

The CC processing…I can’t decide. The processing is interesting but hmmm…I am just not sure what I think. (You asked for a definitive answer and look how definitive I can be! LOL)

What a bummer you couldn’t take pics at the concert! BOO HISS! My favorite is your shoes hanging off your drawer. LOVE that!

Hi Ashley. My favorite photographs of yours this week are…Pair and Square. Those shoes rock and I am a sucker for dessert…especially on that aqua background!

Great interpretations! Love the shoe shot!

Loooove your shots as always! The shoe one is FABULOUS! Love everything about it! The processing on the toothpaste shot looks like one from the soulful inspire collection, am I right, am I right??!! Beautiful. Very soft, and I love the tones. TOO funny, I was going to do the exact same shot for currency, but I didn’t like how my (oldish) wallet looked. Awesome job…love them all! :-) (Why do I always like my shots until I see yours?) LOL! Have a great Sunday! :-)

Love your pair shot! The currency shot is cool, I tried a different effect with my clean shot because it was sooo boring.

I liked your “pair shot” its great!

I’m so surprised you couldn’t take pictures at the Crowes concert. They’re so casual about that stuff normally. But how awesome was the concert?? I just saw them here in Chicago a few weeks ago and it was so amazing.

These are great. Love your pair of shoes and the square picture. Very cool photos.

the pair of shoes -fantastic- the shoes and the photo:)
I usually don’t have cany cash in my purse either, I would use bank cards and credit cards most of the time, it’s just to remember to pay them off on time…

As always, I love your interpretations. I like the currency shot and edit. It has a very pop art feel to me.

I like the last one!!!! the contrast is very intersting!

This challenge is so much fun! And by the way I though of doing a credit card shot too! yours turned out awesome! have a good one!

your photos are great! would love to do a scavenger hunt one of these days

The cc shot – the editing is definitely different. I like it! Almost looks like you drew it.

The square shot is so clean looking. Gotta try that. :)

LOVE your square and clean, and great shoes :-)

These are great choices for the prompts Ashley!
I especially like what you did with the credit cards.

I love that concert pic and those shoes are to die for!!!

I love love love your shoes – very hot! I like the concert pic that you snuck in – you can really see the buzzing energy around the area. Great job on this week’s hunt!

Fabulous photos, Ashley! I adore the shot of your shoes – so lovely! I think I’m going to try to link up with you today:) ~Hannah

I wonder what the point of no photos at the concert is?

Great pictures, and those shoes are to.die.for. I love them!

those shoes look marvelous! So awesome! Love the clean shot too…very cool!

Great shots again this week! How strange that they wouldn’t let you take photos at the concert. I wonder why it matters.
I do like the currency shot. It’s not my style, but looks cool =) I’d be interested to know how you achieved the look.
Have a great week and enjoy those shoes!

love them all but, have to say I just love the shoe picture for some reason it stuck out the most to me:)

Ashley-thanks for commenting on my pics. My sister is Jill @ Envirocraftiness #30!

It’s sad that a dance teacher told you you had no balance or co-ordination so you’d never bee a dancer! Those are things they’re supposed to teach you! FYI it’s never too late to start dancing!

LOVE your square pic. Looking forward to next week!

Great shots! Love the creativity. I’m hoping to join in next week…if I can find the time this week to look for items to photograph.

Great shots! I bet the Black Crows were awesome, and I love those coral shoes:)

Great shots! I love the shoes! So cute!

Love the square photo not only because I LOVE brownies but because the background color is my favorite! This is my first week joining in and I had a lot of fun! I can’t wait to join again next week! Thanks for having me!

My first hunt and I still need 2 more – I’ll post them tomorrow! Pinky swear. Love love those shoes and lucky you on going to a concert! Thanks for sharing and challenging me to shoot more ;)

love the shoes, and your currency looks like an animated drawing. I like it.

All GREAT entries!! The square & shoes are my favs. :) Thank you for stopping by my blog & leaving a sweet comment on my “abundance” photo with the ladybugs also. :) Happy Monday!

Your currency photo is very cool! How did you do that?

Ash I love your shot for “pair”. The shoes are to die for and I bet you looked great at the wedding!

I love your wish/dream & pair!!!! Finally linked up (from a wifi hotspot cafe in Jasper, while my family waits in the truck somewhere on the street….seriously…I have one of the best husband’s ever!!!!) Have a happy Tuesday!

LOVE the shoes! Great shot — and the Black Crowes… wow — we love them too. I just had that challenge at the Sugarland concert and so WISH I could have used the big lens! Still haven’t got those pics from the little camera I borrowed. I call the little camera my emergency camera. UGH — wish they would let us amateurs take photos (not that you are an amateur) but honestly our shots are much better than those people they pay half the time!
    (your fan and friend!)
