Scavenger Hunt Sunday
Wow – it has been one of those weeks…last night, I picked up my camera to collect the rest of my Scavenger Hunt items since I’ve barely had enough time to blog…let alone capture new photos during the week. Anyways, I’m really excited to see everyone’s interpretations of the scavenger hunt items and I’m hoping we pick up a few new bloggers, even if it’s a holiday weekend in the states.
Scavenger Hunt Sunday

The rules are simple:
  1. Anyone can participate.
  2. You’re encouraged to take five new photos this week for the challenge.
  3. If you get stumped, you may use one photo from your archive (although I’m not too strict about it – I do my best to take fresh shots).
  4. Link up here on Sunday (or Tuesday at the latest…yep, I’m adding a day) – you can use the new button.
  5. Have fun!
Now for my interpretation of the items this week:

1. Red
Ashley Sisk - Red RS
I took this photo last Sunday on our way home. We decided to get my car washed. When I saw the red light mixed with the water washing down my windshield, I thought it might be a cool shot.

2. Homespace
Homespace RS
I was looking through one of my drawers when I saw my fisheye converter. Essentially, you can add this converter to my 50mm lens to create a wider angle. I personally think it looks cooler when I’m just looking through the glass, but that’s beside the point. Anyways, I decided to try it out the converter in order to get a good shot of our den. We spend about 70% of our time, when we are home, in this room. You can find me on the couch.

3. Fence
It was starting to get pretty dark last night when I decided that I needed to take this shot (hey, it was a busy week…give me a break). I initially though I’d take a picture of our fence, but then looked across the street and thought that the above shot might be more interesting.

You see, before my time, our neighbors had some sort of fence-off. One person built a fence, then the next person built a different fence, then another house built yet a different fence…as you can see, the trend continued. It’s just a hodge-podge of fences. Here’s the kicker…we put up a fence and get a letter from our home owner’s association suggesting that our fence looked bad. Seriously people?

4. Rock
IMG_2886 RS
I’m going to use a little creative freedom and suggest that whatever I’ve captured is rocky. When I was flying out to California on Tuesday morning, I sat in a window seat so I was able to see all of the beautiful landscapes across the country. I believe I was in the Utah area for this shot. It looked so cool from above.

5. Sharp
Sharp RS
This one is pretty straight forward…sharp knives – yeah, it’s been one of those weeks.

What were your interpretations of the items this week? I can’t wait to check them out. Be sure to load your pictures in your blog and link up at the bottom of this post.  Feel free to grab a button to display on your blog along with your scavenger hunt items. The linky will be open until Tuesday night at midnight. If you didn’t participate this week, but want to participate next week, here are your items.
  1. Landscape
  2. Power line
  3. Newspaper
  4. Pose
  5. Hobby
Have a great week and happy shooting!

aaaw, missed the challenge this week:(
anyways, LOVED the red shot! :)And your home looks very very cozy!

I love these scavenger hunts and one of these days I’m actually going to remember to shoot the items! :) Looking forward to the SLR class!

Great Shots (Love the knife one especially) and this is my first week entering in the scavenger hunt…I really enjoyed it…thanks for hosting…Looking forward to joining again!!

even w/ no time, you did great! My fave is the knives, love the perspective. I don’t think I have all the entries for this week but maybe I’ll feel inspired tonight and finish up.

Love the challenge even if you didn’t have the time. Your photos are always inspiring.

The Red car wash photo is great! I had to laugh at your fence story.

LOVE the rock photo – I didn’t even know what that was at first…that is too cool! I can’t believe you captured that from a plane window. Totally love the knife shot, and I’m dying at the fence off. We went to a party last summer, and that person had the same thing happen in their backyard. There were 7 million types of was hysterical. Well, not hysterical if it happened to you, but ya know. Great job…these are great! :-)

    Hi Girlie,
Love your photos, especially the fence and sharp ones! Great shots, as usual.
I had a hectic week and so I skipped scavenger hunt this time. Will be back for next week! :)

Oh my goodness. I was feeling kinda good about my shots… And then I saw yours! You’re photos just seem to have that extra something (that I hope mine will have someday). I guess what I’m trying to say is, as always, these are some awesome shots you’ve got here. (And I especially love the one for red.)

Oh that’s a great idea!! i love the last one so much :)

First- your home looks cozy, even with the fish eye converter. Fun picture.

Sharp is pretty sharp… I like that one the best.

you’re SUCH a good photographer! and you have a clever way of thinking of how to take each picture!(:

Ashley- love the red and rock images!! Great shots! I am so behind on shooting…I am hoping to still make this one, we will see…

I don’t know what I love more…the fence pic or the story that goes along with it! :)

Great shots! Your red photo is really cool and I like the knife picture a lot too! I’m going to participate, but it will be up a little later!

You take the best macros. I love your RED and SHARP interpretations. Your fence story had me smiling.

excellent series Ashley, love the simplicity of the knives shot.

I LOVE that first shot!! Really cool. :)

I love that Rock shot!!! And about the fence…really????

I love the first red shot…really interesting and I love the texture! I have been on a blog hiatus lately, and am kinda pissed at myself for not doing this! Maybe I can get my act together and this can be my project for the day (forget laundry!)

This is such a great idea Ashley!

Love your rock and sharp shots! All are great of course as always, but those are my fave! I have till midnight — almost done. We were gone to NY since Saturday and I ran 20 yesterday –so I have my fence shot to take and will post! Can’t miss it!

Oh man… I guess you’re an hour off from me. Oh well, guess I missed it. Here it is anyway since I put all the effort into it.
