NC State Fair 2010: Part 2 – Livestock...

October 21, 2010
I took a ton of animal photos at the North Carolina State Fair on Saturday and Monday evening. I guess I was trying to make up for the fact that I haven’t been in a couple of years. I’ll be honest…I don’t really know what all of the animals are (outside of their generic names: sheep, cows, goats, camels, horses, ducklings, etc), nor do I have much to say about them, so…enjoy the photo dump. I don’t know why I decided to take a picture of this (what do you call it) going #2. The little kid in me is giggling. This camel is either taking a nap or...

Meeting Sarah…

October 20, 2010
Last night, I met up with Sarah from Loving My Life and her family for a mini-portrait session. Earlier in the day, she found a wonderful location that offered a beautiful view and wonderful lighting (I’ll have to save this location for later). I haven’t quite gotten to the family photos yet, but I did want to share a couple of photos I took for Sarah’s new photography blog. I am super pleased with how this particular shot turned out. I love everything about...

We actually parked a mile or so away and walked to the fairgrounds. Everyone else was stuck in traffic, so it appeared to be a time saver (and money saver as it was free that far away). I had...

Touch-Up Tuesday

October 19, 2010
A week or so ago, Kathy sent me a picture of her son taking a bath in the kitchen sink. I’ve edited a couple of photos of Andrew before…he is such a cute kid! Although she edited a few photos from the set (see them here), she wanted to see what I could do with this particular shot. I’ll be honest…I think I like her edits better. Nonetheless, here’s what I did.  I started by pulling the raw file into Adobe Camera Raw (ACR). If you want better control of your photos, I strongly encourage you to 1. Shoot MANUAL and 2. Shoot in RAW. Typically, any exposure data that...
