November 2010 Photo Hunt: Unveiled!
I absolutely love a good photo hunt and for the past month, I have carried a list of items around with me to photograph…all for the sake of the November 2010 Photo Hunt. I’ve shared many of these photos on my blog before, but I did want to save a few surprises. Without further discussion, here are my items:

1. Home Sweet Home
Home RS
This is obviously not my home, but at one point…it was home to somebody. I passed this torn down home a few times and finally decided to stop and photograph it. I then thought I’d try a little HDR processing. I tried one version in which I tried blending three different exposures – let’s just say I thought it looked like poo. This is my second attempt in which I used a variety of techniques to achieve a glow effect. Part of me really likes it, the other part thinks I should have stuck with a traditional edit. Thoughts?

Lovely Photo

2. Thankful
I shared this photo once before, but I really love the message with the photo…so I thought I’d share it again.

3. Family
Snow Couple RS
Believe it or not, I did not take any family photos over Thanksgiving (and I thought I’d give Kitty Paw a break). I did receive a “thank you” in the form of this adorable Snow Couple ornament with our names on it. I couldn’t wait to put it on our tree. Thanks Karen!

4. I Ate This – Thanksgiving Edition
IMG_8490 RS
It’s funny that neither one of our families prepared a pumpkin or sweet potato pie during Thanksgiving. Had it not been for Caroline’s homemade pumpkin pie…I might not have eaten any at all. Not that the Hawaiian cake, chocolate pie or carrot cakes weren’t delicious…but this pumpkin pie was sooooo yummy. My husband and I ate off it for days.

5. A Turkey
IMG_8486 RS
Cooking a turkey in a crock pot might be my new favorite way to eat turkey! This is Myron carving the turkey during our Thanksgiving Extravaganza. It was so moist and tender. YUM!

6. Something Handmade
Handmade S-RS
I am really loving the “S” wreath that my mom and I made at the beginning of November. It was such a simple project and is such a unique way to dress up our door during the holidays. I like it so much, I might leave it up all year. Hmmmm….

7. Something Hot
This particular shot became quite popular when I first shared it a couple of weeks ago during Scavenger Hunt Sunday. My husband loves all types of hot sauce…the spicier the better. I will definitely have this print in my new etsy shop for purchase…coming soon!

8. Something Cold
Cold RS
I really thought that the above shot was a failure. It’s not really that cold here in North Carolina yet (even though you wouldn’t know it considering I’ve been wearing scarves to work in an effort to pretend it’s much cooler). So, I thought I’d try to capture the frost in our freezer. I guess it does look kinda cool.

9. Something Orange
IMG_8113 RS
I’ve been saving this shot all month. On my way home from work one day, the sun was amazing. I’ve shared a few of those shots already, but this one really captures that orange glow. I haven’t captured another sunset like it since!

10. Anything Goes
Future Blogger RS
I mentioned that I briefly taught my niece how to use Photoshop Elements. Perhaps it’s a good thing she doesn’t spend more time with me (not that I don’t want to spend more time with her). I’m just saying…if she only knew how, she might be the youngest new blogger to hit the internet.

GOREGOUS SKY! WOW! and I gobbled up my pumpkin pie too….best thing was, there were so many desserts, we got to take it home and polish it off ourselves! :)And by “ourselves” I mean, MYSELF!

Another amazing set! You always find just perfect photos for each prompt.

    Hiya Ashley,
I’ll put the picture (Something Orange) in last weeks entry as it fits perfectly for that–Let There be the Heavens. Does that sound ok to you?

    No probs!

Love all of these beautiful pictures….but I especially love that you taught your niece photoshop. How cool is that!! I am sure she loved every minute of her time with you:)

Okay..if your niece can use Elements, than I should be able to rock it too? Or else I may come get a lesson from her, if thats okay! Lovely photos as usual Ashley! You are so talented:)

these are great. The something cold is cool. Thanks for linking up.

Ok…your photos are OFF THE CHART!! My favs are the ornament, the texas pete (cause my Man loves it too) and the freezer. Such good thinking to get a cold shot. I, too, am from NC and loving the weather, but ready for a good snow. Then I’ll be over it and wanting spring to hurry along. And by the way…. I wore a scarf to work yesterday ;)

omg, that snowman ornament is ADORABLE!

Love it! The ornament in your Family shot is precious! And I still love that shot for Something Hot!

    More good work. wb

Great photos, that first one is so sad. Poor little house. And I love that orange sunset, so vibrant.

All your pics are amazing, as usual, but seriously – that pot pie looks Divine!

Great photos this month, Ashley! I think my favorite is actually your “failure;” the frost photo is so cool! The only good thing about snow is the opportunity for macro shots. ;)

The HDR processing you did with the first photo is pretty interesting – a different kind of photo.

Amazing finds and beautifully shot. The “home” is a shocker but I love the processing.

Love your “family” shot – the ornament is so cute!

these are all so beautiful – I keep meaning to try this challenge out – I always forget (this brain of mine)

Gorgeous selection of photos, looks like you had a great November!

Beautiful series of photos. You make it really difficult for me to even try to pick a favourite. Love them all.

My favorite one is the Thankful..such a nice shot with such a perfect quote. I also really like your home sweet home makes me wonder who lived there, where they are now, what happened to their home. I love old, worn down buildings! Oh, and ofcourse the texas pete..that shot is just so cool.

LOVE these!!!! Awesome and I didn’t know you could cook at turkey in the croc pot! Def. gonna keep that in mind!
    Merry Christmas!!!!

    Great shots! I’m a little hungry now though. : ) . I love the “S” wreath!

I love the ornament! These are all such great shots. Can’t wait to see your Etsy shop!

Beautiful collection Ashely. Orange sunset amazing. No wonder you saved it. Also love your take and hot and cold.
Sorry I lost my shots this month…would have like to play along. Oh well-I’m working on your memories end of the year list.
    Happy day to you.
