New Challenge: Shoot and Edit!
Are you ready to take your photography skills, style and editing to the next level?

Then you won’t want to miss out on our NEW Weekly Challenge: Shoot and Edit.

Every Monday morning Jill will post a SOOC (straight out of the camera) shot and then have a link up for all of you to share your SOOC too. You will have until Wednesday to link up.

Then, on Thursday morning I will have my SOOC shot fully edited with a tutorial for all of us to follow to enhance ours as well. I’m going to keep it pretty simple at first so we can build on the learning each week.

Once our shots are fully edited, link up with me anytime from Thursday to Saturday.

The only requirement is that you only share SOOC shots on Monday here and then before and after shots on Thursday here. Here is what you can expect…simply click on the photo to see my fully post.

Dustyn Before and After RSPlease grab our button to put in your posts to share with your friends, so they can join in the fun and learning too!Good to Wow

By the end of the year we will have 52 favorite shots that will showcase our improved photography and editing skills. Along the way we hope to help you develop your very own style and inspire you to stretch yourself in new areas.

and I are so excited to begin this journey with all of you and we look forward to seeing your SOOC shots tomorrow!

If you need some inspiration – what makes you think winter time? How can you show us that in one photo?

Ready? Set? Shoot!

By the way, I am having trouble with Google Reader today. It keeps showing an error and won’t allow me to read beyond just a few. So, they keep piling up and I’m unable to access them. Therefore, once it’s back up and running, it will likely be unmanageable. I will likely “mark as read” and do my very best to make return visits, but I did want to give you a heads up. I really appreciate your understanding.

    awesome edit!

Love it! I am pretty bad at the editing and can’t stand over photoshopped photos so can’t wait to see how you do things! Love your pics!

    Love the edit!

The edit is amazing! I have to agree with the others, editing is pretty bad right now. I’m using Picnik for the time being (the laptop with Photoshop and Lightroom won’t let me log in at ALL because there’s no more space)
But I can do some lightroom on my dads other computer when he’s not on it. Do it require lightroom?
It sounds like fun, and you can count me in!

Oh how cool of a challenge! & fabulous for me because I need sooo much practice & improving on my editing skillz ;)

What a great idea for a challenge! Great edit :)

Yeah – I’m going to link in. Think winter – no problem here as I had to clear 5 inches of snow from last nights fall today.

Awesome!!! I think I may just have to link up to this. I have photoshop elements 9…Hope this will be good enough. BTW: I also have NO clue how to use it. ;P

Oh man, another photo challenge?? I can’t keep up! This one sounds awesome though!! Great idea!

Really good editing! I wish I knew a little more about the basics of editing.

When I saw saw this the first time, I loved it. The second time, even more. Great work, Ashley. Good luck on your new journey!!!

Sounds like fun! :) I might try to squeeze it in. ;)

I still love your edit of Dustyn. :D

    awesome idea and awesome edit!

what a great idea! should be a blast!

sounds like fun. i am ready to learn some new things. i can’t think of anyone better to teach me.

Leg removal sounds a little ominous…I can’t wait to get in on the tutorials, though I am not confident in my editing skills so I’m sure I will just be a lurker for a great while! ;)

I love this idea. I might have to join in!

Can’t wait to join up. What editing software/tools do you suggest we have on hand? XOXO

    This sounds fun!
There are so many challenges out there that I just cant do them all! But you know I’ll do my best to participate!

I am really excited about this because this is my main photography goal for 2011. Edit better.
    So this is awesome! (:
Also, I thought you might be interested in entering my photo challenge:

This will be a lot of fun, but it’s going to take a lot of inspiration for me to find something that reminds me of winter down here without driving three hours to the mountains! Hmm hmm hmm, good thing we have until Wednesday to get the SOOC in!

I just commented over on Jill’s blog… I am over the moon excited to link up with you talented ladies! And I have the perfect SOOC for winter time! This is an awesome idea Ashley!

Ashley, you edit is wonderful! You can’t see where any cloning took place. I also love the coloring. Great job!!

Love this idea! Sign me up!

I laughed at your first step: leg removal! I’ll keep mine on, thanks! hehe! I’m goofy tonight, I guess!

Your edit is beautiful! Love it!

I am pleased to award you with The Stylish Blog Award. Look at my recent blog post :} Talk to you soon & thank you for being such an inspiration to me and for all of the blog love you give me! It means a lot! xo

i love the idea! but i can’t figure out how to add the button to my page?
I definitely want to be a part of this, I need help with editing!!!! :)

very cool. love the idea, too.

Great idea!!! I am going to try to do this one!!!

This is fantastic! You know I love a good edit – can’t wait to learn more, and see what I can do different/better. Awesome idea – love it! :-)

What a fun idea Ashley. I’m sure you’ll have a big group joining in.

I tried copying and pasting, and I can’t get it to my page, I’m sorry :(

What a great idea. I love it. Thanks for featuring my baby. :D

Awesome! I knew your project announcement would be great. Good like with the new project – I’ll definitely be popping in to check your master tutorials out!

I love these. I love the simple way you explain what you did. I was just looking at a PS5 on demand book but it didn’t show the pics side by side.

I am still a newbie at technical stuff. I look forward to the next 52!

    This is an excellent idea!

Your edit is so good Ashley!

Awww…Jill is so cool. Love this! And, that edit is amazing.

    P.S. I can’t sleep. We’re having a blizzard!

Can’t wait to read how you edit the photos. I still have to lurn so much in the editing part.

BTW it is MONDAY in my part of the world.

I must have missed the tutorial you did on Dustyn’s photo. I just checked it out… boy, you got me excited to try it out. :)

What a GREAT idea! I am sure there are a LOT of people who will just LOVE this link-up!! Thanks so much for hosting :)

Ashley, this is really awesome! Thanks for putting this together! I’m really excited to participate and learn. :)

This is such a great idea, but I dont have photoshop. Just using picnik till I can get photoshop.

I would love to join in, but am not sure what sort of editing software is necessary. Will Lightroom be sufficient? It looks like the edits were made using PS…

I remember this photo from another post. I love your editing skills.

I’m going to love these posts!!!! I hope you do it weekly?
