Just Say No - Word Verification

This week our theme or prompt is “RED” (this is just a suggestion, you can show us any SOOC shot).  You have until Wednesday each week to link your SOOC shot up on Jill’s blog. On Thursday, you can link up your edits with ME after following some of my tips on how to edit your shots (or just post your edit on Thursday and you can pick up my tips for next week).

You would think that co-hosting “Shoot and Edit” (aka Good to WOW), that I would do a better job of preparing my SOOC shots. Unfortunately, I can be a bit of a procrastinator. In all fairness, I did try to prepare my SOOC on Saturday, but I just wasn’t happy with my shots. So, I tried again yesterday. Here is my SOOC shot:

I haven’t quite decided what I’ll be teaching this week, but I think I’ll keep it simple – perhaps saturation, brightness and contrast? If you have any other ideas, feel free to pass them along. Next week’s theme is “HEARTS.” With that said, be sure to check out other “RED” SOOC shots at:

Happy Monday!

I love your SOOC!! I know after you’re done editing, the contrast of the sign against the sky is going to be stunning! :)

    PS – I don’t see your linky??

Never mind – I forgot Jill has it Monday! :) And sorry for monopolizing your comments here!!

Now that will be gorgeous when you put your touch to it! Not your typical stop sign shot :-)

    Hugs and love!

have nothing red.. but next week I am all about hearts.

    Good shot.

And your book is on the way.

    Oooo… that’s cool! :D I never thought about a stop sign. :)

Strangely enough, I was drawn to the clouds more than the stop sign in the photo. Maybe because the photo is telling me to stop, relax, and enjoy the view ;)

Red can be difficult colour for me to handle at times – a few flower photos have gone crazy pink in the past when I’ve tried to shoot them though I’m not sure if that is something to do with the light and white balance.

Looking forward to seeing what you do to this shot – great clouds as a background too.

I look forward to seeing what you do with this shot.

why didn’t I think of that. you are always so creative.
Red color cast might be a good thing to address.
Here is a link from Smugmug on color cast, just a share.

Fun! I really like this one! Red’s a fun one to teach about saturation with……

Though with next week being hearts, you’ll probably be seeing more red!

Ha! I would never have thought to use a stop sign. I think this picture is great-can’t wait to see what you’re going to teach me this week! :)

Your SOOC is great! And I’m really excited to learn more about saturation and contrast, especially the part about not overdoing it like I always end up doing when I play around with it.

Great shot! Looking forward to see the edit…

OOOH, I’m gonna love this edit. I can already feel it!

Sheesh, Ashley – one would think that you’d have your act together by now! lol! Just kidding! It’s not always going to work out perfectly! But we all will still love you! :-D

I’ve tried taking pics of signs before, and you’ve definitely perked my interest with this one. (I’ve only ever liked 1 of mine!)

You know what I first thought of when seeing this? Stop! Be still and know that I am God! That’s been repeated so much lately, and it’s still touching my heart! So see, it’s all good and perfect!

oooooo… can’t wait to see what kind of editing spin you put on this image :) The sky is just gorgeous!

LOVE! I know I always say it, but you have the best trees. I always love your tree shots! :-) Geez, it’s been what…2 days since I’ve heard from you – LOL! Miss ya! ♥

Can’t wait to see your edit. I’m really loving “info Thursday!”

OOh that’s a good one! I bet you make it look amazing! xo

Love your sky shots. Can’t wait to see what you do with this.
