Scavenger Hunt Sunday
I can hardly believe it’s March already…basketball, flowers, warmer weather…am I the only one who can’t believe how quickly this year is already flying by?  Anyways, it’s been a good week (although I have very little to report), and today is Scavenger Hunt Sunday. If you’ve been participating in the Scavenger Hunt each week, I hope this week’s items inspired you. If you’re new to the Scavenger Hunt…WELCOME! Next week’s items are sponsored by The Moral Muses, Becky @ My Daily Journey, Ewa @ One Mom’s World Reflected in Photographs, and Jennifer @ The Fiddlehead Report.
Scavenger Hunt Sunday
The rules are simple:
  1. Anyone can participate.
  2. You’re encouraged to take five new photos this week for the challenge.
  3. If you get stumped, you may use one photo from your archive (although I’m not too strict about it – I do my best to take fresh shots).
  4. Link up here on Sunday (or Tuesday at the latest) – you can use the button above.
  5. Leave comments for at least five entries around yours (we have so many new participants each week, this is the only way I know to be inclusive).
  6. Have fun!
Without further discussion…here are my interpretations this week:

1. Vanishing Point
The Piano-texture RS
I don’t know the story behind this piano, but I should…it sits at our family cabin in the mountains (well my husband’s family’s cabin). Our family loves music and will often gather around to play instruments and sing…in fact, I’m starting to think that the kids will start a band since each of them is learning to play a different instrument. You’ll later see Carter pretending to play the piano – maybe it’ll be his instrument. I certainly wish I had paid better attention during my lessons as a child.

2. Square Crop
The Bridge-square crop RS
Earlier this week, we had beautiful weather…so, I went outside to look for shadows (if you haven’t already, check out my Mortal Muses‘ post). While I was wandering one of the trails by my office, I came upon this bridge. I went with a simple center-composed shot and then did a square crop in post-processing. Don’t forget to link up your square cropped photos with Kat:

3. Under
Shoes by the Toilet RS
Who knew that Scavenger Hunt Sunday would take me to so many unusual places for a photo. A few weeks ago, I share a picture from my bathroom (click here if you missed it). This week, I was struggling with “under,” so I thought I’d capture my shoes UNDER the bathroom stalls. I originally planned on doing a self portrait of myself from that perspective (and granted, being without shoes in the bathroom is pretty gross), but I was a bit nervous of someone walking in and wondering what I was doing. On another note, do you like how I’m including at least one noisy photo each week? I should have an entire series called “embracing the noise…” – okay, maybe not.
Photography love...

4. “Welcome to the Jungle”
Celebrating RS
On Friday, I posted several shots of the kids playing with party blowouts. If you missed my post, click HERE. Yeah, you could say it was a jungle.

5. Calm
Carter and the Piano RS
Our nephew, Carter, was such a sweet and quiet baby. Next month, he will turn 2 years old and I can’t say that he’s the sweet and quiet baby he once was. Last weekend, he wanted nothing to do with me and would say NO repeatedly to any request. However, there was a moment of calm when he sat at the piano.

What were your interpretations of the items this week? I can’t wait to check them out. Be sure to load your pictures in your blog (or your Flickr photostream) and link up at the bottom of this post.  Feel free to grab a button to display on your blog along with your scavenger hunt items. The linky will be open until Tuesday night at midnight (EST). If you didn’t participate this week, but want to participate next week, here are your items (these can also be found at the bottom of my blog each week):
  1. Camera Phone (current Mortal Muses theme - you can either share a picture taken with your camera phone [not limited to iphones since I don’t own one] or get creative with the prompt)
  2. Camera (Becky‘s suggestion)
  3. Shoes (Becky‘s suggestion)
  4. Chair (Ewa’s suggestion)
  5. Imperfection (Jennifer‘s suggestion)
Again, thank you to the Mortal Muses, Becky, Ewa and Jennifer for so many great scavenger hunt items. If you’d like to contribute items to the list, just send me an email with your suggestions (I can better keep track of them this way…and we’ve got some great prompts coming up in future weeks). Each week, I will select one reader’s prompt list, add those items to what is currently on tap and give the selected reader a shout out on my blog during Scavenger Hunt Sunday.

Be sure to come back tomorrow for Shoot and Edit: Part 1, Week 10.  The prompt/theme is “yellow.” Happy Shooting!

Love that “jungle” and the vanishing point is wonderful.

    Happy Sunday, Ash!

    Love your piano shot!!

I love that piano picture. It’s too pretty. Great job. :)

    Marla @

These are all great of course, but I think your jungle interpretation is my favorite. Fabulous choice!

I love your piano shot but the under one has me laughing outloud!

I just love your vanishing point shot.. That piano looks old with so much character. And your Jungle shot also looks great.. I was thinking along those same line for my shot.. I am a preschool teacher.. But I didn’t think it would be to cool to post a photo of the kids on line.. So I had to come up with plan “B”. But it really is like a jungle most days.. Thanks for hosting this great hunt..

    Hugs, Linda

That is a really great shot of that piano! Girl!!! You are keeping me on my toes. Some of these prompts are difficult. But, I am always up for the challenge.

love the shots! They are awesome! I am super bummed. I wasn’t able to do the scavenger hunt this week! But I think I will take some of those challenges and try and shoot this week! Along with the new challenge!

“Embrace the noise”? Totally with you on that one! I’ve been trying to convince Karli, but it’s an uphill battle. :)

My fav of your set this week is the shoes under the toilet stall. Way creative!

Really liking your vanishing point, smiling at under, and loving calm! Carter is such a cutie. I smile everytime you post him.

I love: Vanishing point, calm, welcome to the jungle, square crop and under.

Oh, wait! Those are all the items on the list. Have a great week ahead. =)

Excellent photos!! I love the vanishing point one! :)

Love your vanishing point photo – wonderful shot.

I love the jungle and vanishing point. Great photos this week. I love that you are embracing the noise. Ha ha. Have a great Sunday!

Love all of these! But I think my favorite is your “under” photo. What a unique perspective!!

ha ha… I LOVE the shoes picture!
I wonder where we will find your shoes next week??! =) love the piano shot too… have a lovely Sunday!

Love both piano shots. Have a beautiful Sunday. xxx

I’m not gonna be oryginal: “Love your piano shot!”… but all of them are great, as always!
thank you for choosing one of my items!

the vanishing and under ones are my personal favs

Vanishing point and under are my favorites – love them all!!!

Your Jungle is hilarious and noicy !!!! And are you sure that that calm stays cailm or does he start to play wild rock’n roll soon !!!!!!!!

I love that vanishing point the best – jungle scenes like that he hee only happen a few times a year in our house now and I am so relieved when everything gets back to normal again though this weekend the house is just tooooooooo quiet.

Your a hoot Ashley – that wc scene is so funny.

I just love your first shot. So special!

    Hi, and thanks for hosting.

I’m so glad I found your hop – it’s original & looks like a ton of fun. I look forward to trying to meet the challenge of participating next week!

I’ve included a link to your hop on my site – there’s a page devoted to hops for every day of the week. Go to the top of my sidebar for a link and have a great week!

Also, please check out a section on my sidebar called “A series special to my heart”.

    God bless you!

I love how two of the keys are partially depressed. Beautiful!

Great photos. I love how the tone of the photos with the piano make it look so old.

beautiful photos – really love vanishing point and jungle!

I adore you vanishing point shot…and your square crop! Amazing!

all awesome but, I especially love your piano keys shot!! SO sharp and eye catching! I might try and link up next week if I can get my booty in gear;0.

HA- your story for the shoes in the bathroom cracked me up. I often feel rushed when taking certain shots because I think someone will see me & think I am nuts. :)

That first shot of the piano is absolutely beautiful!

The bathroom shot is awesome! I find myself doing things like that and trying hard to capture what I want without looking like a freak!Happy Sunday!

As always, your shots are inspiring!

Thanks for choosing two of my suggestions! :)

    Have a blessed Lord’s Day!

Your post is full of such energy and fun today. Truly looking like a jungle in your jungle shot and I especially like your take on vanishing point. The shoes in the bath-very clever. Thanks for the smile.

I too love the piano shot. And thank you again for having these challenges, it really gets me out there =)

LOVE your vanishing point photo! Makes me miss our old family piano…that my mom got rid of several years ago. Still haven’t quite fully forgiven her for that one. ;)

Your piano shot is very beautiful, both ;)
Very nice post, and i really like this meme, Thankyou
    Have a nice week.

The vanishing point is great and yesterday’s selfie was was fun, like it:)

vanishing point is so beautiful! I love it :) I was so lost on that one- I’m still not sure if I got it right or not! ;/

    Great shots!

These are great, as usual! :) I am LOVING your new header, too! So pretty and spring-ish! :)

I remember looking but I don’t remember commenting (duh). LOVE your vanishing point and tie in with Calm.

I like your square image, but I have to say that “under” captured my heart. :) Great job! Thanks so much for including Exploring with a Camera this last week. I look forward to seeing all of the great Square Format pics the scavenger hunt has found!

Your under shot is so cool, love everything about, never would have thought of doing that.

Your photos make me swoon…every one of them!

Your photos are always so wonderful! I really enjoy seeing your interpretations each week. Love vanishing point and the creativity of under.

LOVED the vanishing point!!!! And your under shot made me laugh!

Love them all! Great vanishing point and Under! :)

I love that battered old piano. And the bathroom shot is hysterical! Love it!

Sigh…yet another week that I just wasn’t able to shoot stuff that fit the hunt. I DID get out with the camera and soaked up shots of spring all around, so all in all, I’m not too disappointed.

ha ha! I bet that party WAS a jungle! :) I LOVE your square crop and your under! So creative… I’m just finishing mine up now and will link later tonight!

    Thanks again for your help!

The coloring and square cropping makes the light, shadow, and texture of the photo the centerpiece. Really neat combination.

Okay, the photos finally loaded for me. I love your Calm shot… he’s SO cute!

I had to laugh at your Under shot. =)

Your piano shot is beautiful! I know what you mean about feeling silly taking the picture, and what if someone came in! I feel that way too, especially when I’m taking pictures of produce in the grocery store, or stopping on the side of the road to take a picture. I always feel like all eyes are on me!

I love the shot of the piano! And your under shot is both brilliant and funny! It’s one of those “I wish I’d thought of that” pictures.

Love these. Especially the piano one and the “under” shot. :)

I always love your creativity. Another great week of shots!

oh gosh, awesome capture of Carter at the piano. It reminds me of a “player” piano my Uncle had. We love to put the sheets in and let it play.

    What a great vanishing point!

I love all your shots, but the “calm” one is my favorite!

Under totally tickled my funny bone! With my luck, I would have had half the office walk in on me taking a shot like that–I love it!! :) And your piano made me wish I had paid better attention and not wished to end lessons. Beautiful work Ashley!

Hi again! Thought your “Welcome to the Jungle” shot was just perfection. And your vanishing point shots…beautiful.

Thanks Ashley. I decided to turn the flash off for that one. I really like the square crop and the under shot is so creative. I could not help but laugh.

These are ALL so creative!! I really especially LOVE your vanishing point & that under shot made me giggle!! :)

Once again… all great shots! Love your first two especially. What a great ol’ piano! AND as for your under shot… Eeww to walking in the bathroom without shoes… LOL!

Great photos but for me, the “Square Crop” pic really stands out. Very dreamy with a tinge of nostalgia…

I love both piano theme and jungle! ;-)

    I’m in ashley!

    Great piano shot!
    Regards and happy new week.

Wow – all of them! I love the piano shots!!

    I love your vanishing point!
And your under one had me giggling, had visions of someone walking in on you taking photos under the door :)

As always, I love all your shots- so creative! I’m not sure I would be brave enough to take my shoes off in the bathroom at work, but that did make for a really cool shot!

Beautiful photos! I love your ‘under’ shot, hehe so cute! x

I love the vintage feel of most of your pics!
    Love the grainy texture!
I’m really having fun with this!!
    Thanks for hosting!!!

I love the one you did for Under! So creative, very cute! love it!

I just did my very first Scavenger Hunt Sunday on my blog, so fun!
