Bachelorette Weekend: Part 3
Saturday night was our “big night in Charleston,” and we started the night with a lingerie shower. I’ll spare you those pictures (only because you’ve all seen someone open presents…you’ll see a couple of shots tomorrow, including Jennifer’s bachelorette crown shown below). After eating a little cake (pictured at the bottom – because I was trying to be crafty with the collages), we called for a few pedi-cabs and hit the road. Aren’t we all looking fabulous?

We have Pedi-Cabs (aka rickshaws) in the Raleigh/Durham area, but I’ve never taken one to get around town. It was so much fun, but trying to photograph the adventure was a bit challenging.

Our first stop…Cypress for some Lavender Martinis. Our local girl in the group said we absolutely had to stop for one drink and it was delicious (I don’t drink as a habit, but I was curious).

Lavendar Martini Collage
I managed to find the recipe for a Lavender Martini online – if you like that sorta thing, here ya go:

  • Ice
  • 1 1/2 ounces vanilla vodka
  • 1/2 ounce fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 ounce Lavender Syrup
  • 1 fresh lavender sprig
Directions: Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add the vodka, lemon juice and Lavender Syrup and shake well. Strain into a chilled martini glass and garnish with the lavender sprig.

After a quick drink, we loaded back into the pedi-cabs and went to 39 Rue de Jean for our dinner reservations. There were three other Bachelorette Parties. Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on how you look at it), very few people recognized our bride as being a bachelorette because she wasn’t wearing typical bachelorette gear. More often than not, they thought she was celebrating her birthday. Perhaps we should have added a veil to her custom Paper Mama crown

Over the course of dinner, we started talking about model eyes. Yes…I was teaching the ladies how to do model eyes. I won’t embarrass Jennifer by posting her attempt (she’s probably already close to wanting to kill me), but it was quite fun.
Late Night Collage
The night ended at Trio Lounge (a night club) for a little dancing. By this point in the evening, we felt like it was no longer necessary, safe or appropriate to carry my camera around (no one wants to be photographed in a sweaty night club and there are too many people dancing with drinks in their hands). Nonetheless, we had a great time. Now it’s time for Jennifer to get married: May 14th!

By the way, the pretty blonde in pink seen in some of the images is getting married next weekend (April 29th – same day as the Royal Wedding). Congratulations Teran and Matt!

This all looks like so much fun!Great that you managed to capture it in pictures :)

This looks like such a blast! I have actually never been to a real bachelorette party!! I was pregnant when I got married (so we spared ourselves a “real” bachelorette weekend and went to the horse races instead ~ which was SO. Much. FUN.) and when my cousin got married, one my babies got very sick so I had to drive home and miss the fun. So I love living vicariously through other peoples’ fun!! Haha ;) Great pictures!! :) Love the Paper Mama crown!! :)

Looks like a BLAST!!! You gals are a wild and crazy group. Congrats to your friend ;D Oh, and lovin the crown.

You’re all so damn pretty! There is one girl that looks just like Kate Hudson.

I agree with Scots Lass… you are such a pretty lady. :)

I know the bride will treasure these photos for many years to come.

You all look amazing! Looks like you had loads of fun!

Great job, glad you had fun.

You all look so pretty! What a fun night.

You had some serious FUN girl time! I’m jealous but, it’s okay cuz I’ll get some on our photo date this Tuesday;0. hehe. These pictures are great Ashley! Question for you…did you point the flash directly at your subjects to make sure they were illuminated this well? The reason I ask is because they turned out great and I seldom point my flash directly at faces but, sometimes it is necessary in really dark places. Great job!

Oooh bachlorette parties are so much fun. I love all the lovely shots (including the martini picture) I’m more of a cosmo girl, but I would try the lavender martini.

My girlfriend has her bachlorette party in May. It is gonna be a BIG party in Detroit. I’m so looking forward to night out, but I’m not in my 20’s anymore… I doubt I’ll be closing the bars down. Ha…

Wonderful pictures. Thanks for sharing the recipe. I may have to try that. :)

That crown turned out sooo cute! Love the photos…and all the smiles.

Really looks like a blast!!! The lavender martini sounds awesome – I am interested in trying it! I had a grapefruit martini last night and it was yum yum!

    what a great time!

These are so much fun, what wonderful captures & memories! :)

It would be so much fun to have a girls weekend with 8 of my friends.

What a fun time – love all the pink feathers!

You all looked gorgeous! Chelsey did a fantastic job on her crown, and she looks like a bachelorette in the classy way, not the tacky way. I’m sure she appreciated not having to wear a veil.
Can’t wait to see pictures of the wedding!

Nice photos! :) I love your JoTotes! That’s what it is right? I haven’t seen you around my blog lately! Just thought I would let you know! :)

Chelsey did an awesome job on that crown! I love the first photo of you guys–you all look like you’re ready to paint the town red!

looks like SO much fun – and as always the photos are so great.

Great pics. How lucky you are! Thanks for sharing the whole set. :)

You all look really beautiful! Really, you do.

Looks like you all had a wonderful time. :)

Oh my goodness… did she wear it all night? Awesome! Looks like fun. Would have been better if I was there.
