Shoot and Edit: Week 14 – Faith SOOC
Welcome to the 14th week of Shoot and Edit: Part 1. Click HERE for all the details and upcoming prompts/themes.

This week our theme or prompt is “Faith” (this is just a suggestion, you can show us any SOOC shot).  You have until Wednesday each week to link your SOOC shot up on Jill’s blog. On Thursday, you can link up your edits with ME after following some of my tips on how to edit your shots (or just post your edit on Thursday and you can pick up my tips for next week).

I mentioned a couple of times during my weekend posts that we attended a wedding at the beach this past weekend. What better way to experience GOD! The weekend was rather dull and gloomy…we were on the edge of a rainstorm all weekend (and Saturday night it definitely poured). But, God has an incredible way of creating a perfect moment. Just an hour or so before the wedding, the sun came out to see the day. I’m sure the bride was a ball of nerves – I remember how gloomy our wedding day was (we also got married outdoors), but just like our friends…just an hour or two before the start of our wedding, the sun came out. God is GOOD!

Here’s my SOOC shot. It was actually taken yesterday morning – the calm after the storm!

Beach EXIF

I’ve got a really well exposed image this week so, with regard to editing, I want to show you how to straighten your horizon (mine is just slightly tilted – not a big deal, but I’ll still show you), as well as discuss how to add text to an image. If you have any suggestions, let me know. Next week’s theme is “Easter.” With that said, be sure to check out other “Faith” SOOC shots at:
Have a great Monday!

Can’t wait to see this edited :-D

So glad the rain held out for them!!!!

    Have a blessed week :-D

    Beautiful shot!

Oh, I am really excited about this one!! :) Beautiful already, and I see great potential for creativity!

Beautiful shot – I cannot wait to see your edit. I am so glad the sun came out to shine for the newly married couple. God is GOOD!

When my sister got married many years ago, there was a full-out thunderstorm going on outside. That is supposed to be good luck. Unfortunately, it wasn’t — the marriage didn’t last — but it was a memorable day. :)

Beautiful photo just as it is.

    Gorgeous simplicity to your sooc.

Last summer my cousin got married outdoors, and it was beautifully overcast for their pictures before… and then the rain poured down and we all got completely soaked for the ceremony. Instead of being upset about it, they were excited because it made the day so memorable and uniquely theirs! I cringed watching the photogs work in the rain with their 5D cameras, but they got the job done.

i’ve done 3 weddings…..one was to be outside, but it rained so we moved it inside…the other 2 were during the worst time of the day and it was REALLY SUNNY !! maybe the next one will be the perfect weather for the perfect bride!!
can’t wait to see what you do with this one!

I always feel closer to God at the ocean! Wonderful SOOC capture.

gosh the water is so calm,

Beautiful! Definitely a great way to experience God. Wondered if I was the only one that felt that way. Looking forward to your edit!

Beautiful ocean shot. Love it! :)

that is just a beautiful shot! love it!!

Wow, this SOOC is gorgeous! So calming indeed :) Glad you had a nice weekend!

What a beautiful, calm sea. God is faithful and good isn’t He!! He loves marriage and loves to bless the wedding days;0. SO glad it worked out for this couple!! And hope you enjoyed your beach time!!

what a shot, love the peaceful feeling it gives.

Very pretty. I will look for a photo that will fit with your editing. :)

Oooh, this photo is really great! I can’t wait to learn more about straightening an image. I tried to do this last week with a photo and had some trouble. Anyway, hope your weekend was good!

Love this. And how lucky you are to have this near you.

That is a beautiful shot. I have heard that getting married on a rainy day is a sign of good things. We had rain on our wedding day – but fortunately we were indoors because we didn’t get a break in the weather all day

This shot is so beautiful and peaceful.

    What a wonderful shot!

This is truly beautiful! And learning how to untilt is perfect since I think mine is just a tiny bit off!

Straightening the horizon? Wow! I cant wait to see and learn!

Pleased to hear that the rain kept away. That’s a beautiful shot and that water looks so calm. Straightening an image is a great topic for a post – it’s an edit I sometimes have to do if I’ve had little time to compose the shot especially with buildings.

Woo hoo! Can’t wait to learn how to do this! Been wondering a while! Glad the sun came out for their big day! I gotta say my big day was the same! I actually was POURING during our ceremony (which thankfully was inside) and right as we were walking out the rain stopped and the sun came out and it got totally summer-like! But if it’s any consolation to us all, they say it’s good luck for it to rain on your wedding day :)

SOOO pretty already, can’t wait to see the edit! xo

Gorgeous photo and view on faith!

Lovely! I’m looking forward to the lesson on straightening a horizon. I always manage and always wonder if there’s an easier way. :)

Oh, what a great beach photograph. Very well taken. Looking forward how you straighten the horizon on your photograph (I just learned something about crop/straighten the other day :)).

Thank you for sharing your take on this week’s theme.

So glad that God paused the rain for the ceremony. Oh, to be at the beach!!! :)

Very unique shot of the beach — very dark and ominous with the storm clouds, but yet there’s some shimmer on the water with the promise of sun.

The sunlight glistening on the water is just gorgeous.

    Superb exquisite light grays.

Very brooding photo, I can feel the weight of melancholy pressing down on my chest… ;-)

    So pretty! :D

We were married outside, too. It rained in the morning, and then kinda “spit” rain all afternoon… but our ceremony was at 7pm (dairy farmers in the family) and by then the rain had stopped. :)

Gorgeous! Glad everything went well with the wedding. Looking forward to your edit!

Looking forward to see the beautiful beach edited!

Pretty! I love views over the ocean. I’m looking forward to the edits! :)

Love the mood to this shot :) Great job on this SOOC!
