Shoot and Edit: Week 32 – Bright and Colorful SOOC
Welcome to the 32nd week of Shoot and Edit: Part 1. Click HERE for all the details and upcoming prompts/themes and past tutorials. This week our theme or prompt is “Bright and Colorful” (this is just a suggestion, you can show us any SOOC shot…much like I did this week). You have until Wednesday each week to link your SOOC shot up on Jill’s blog. On Thursday, you can link up your edits with ME after following some of my tips on how to edit your shots (or just post your edit on Thursday and you can pick up my tips for next week).

I suppose I could have saved one of my photos from our niece’s visit, but I decided to do a little something different…mostly because I have a plan for my edit on Thursday (I know, shocking). Here’s my SOOC:

Bright and Colorful EXIF

In case you were wondering, this is a photograph of one of the paintings in our home. It’s really beautiful. And, I am completely aware that this shot is underexposed. I was using my 105mm Macro lens outside for a bit when I decided to take this shot. I love my macro lens but it has a tendency to give me an inaccurate meter read (which means I often guess for proper exposure). I guess I needed to dial it up a notch. On another note, this week’s lesson will be less about processing and more about presentation. With that said, be sure to check out other “Bright and Colorful” SOOC shots at:

Beautiful painting! I would love to transform my home into a more bright and colorful place. It is colorful, but I love the bright, bold fun colors.

I have a thing for my marco too. Nicely used on this pretty picture, so bright and cheerful.

I need to get a macro lens! That painting looks beautiful! Oh and for some reason the button for jill’s monday posts is not working? I have just been copying the photo and then linking to her page but it was working up until last week?

What a beautiful painting – I love the vibrant colours!

    Very pretty. Love this painting.

Okay, I am really looking forward to this week’s tutorial about presentation! :)

Love that painting! Beautiful!! Can’t wait to see the finished shot!

Can’t wait to see what you do with your edit!

Always fun experimenting with our lenses! Glad you posted info on the word verification! Hope more people drop it!

First- love the painting! Second- I love to hear you have a plan for Thursday-and I CAN’T WAIT to see it. Presentation is certainly something I would love to branch out with- so I am really looking forward to that.

I love macro shots as well, I need to buy a new lense for that. I’m using a standart one (canon eos t3). Actually I’m learning and it’s my first SLR. Thanks a lot for your lovely comments. I now I have a lot more to learn and all comments are encouraging! ABout your painting it is really beautiful even though is a little underexposed.

***I totally support no word verification! \*/

I think this is going to be a real fun one to work with Ashley. Lots, and lots of possibilities here!! I look forward to seeing it when you are done editing!

Ooo. I can’t wait to see what you do with this. I can see it bright and bold colors, but I can also see it faded with texture. Great shot to play with. :)

    This is so interesting .
I m learning so much from you . Thank you Ashley

Lovely painting and definitely bright and colorful! I can’t wait for your edit!

Great colors in the painting. I know you’ll fix the exposure with nary an afterthought!

    beautiful coroful painting!

Looks like a very pretty painting. Looking forward to the “presentation”. :)

Can’t wait to see the direction you take this one.

Can’t wait to see what you have up your sleeve!! ;)

Fun painting — I was going to ask if you painted it??? And yeah, even if it’s a little under exposed, that’s something easily fixed by Master Editor-In-Chief Ashley! lol!

And I’m intrigued by this presentation thing… :) Glad you have a plan!

I can’t wait to see what you have in store for us. As always, thank you for sharing your talents and skills. Have a great week.
