Welcome to the 42nd week of Shoot and Edit: Part 1. Click HERE for all the details and upcoming prompts/themes and past tutorials. This week our theme or prompt is “Memories” (this is just a suggestion, you can show us any SOOC shot…much like I did this week). You have until Wednesday each week to link your SOOC shot up on Jill’s blog. On Thursday, you can link up your edits with ME after following some of my tips on how to edit your shots (or just post your edit on Thursday and you can pick up my tips for next week).
I wasn’t sure what to do with this week’s theme – I mean, how do you depict “memories.” Then, it occurred to me that we make memories every time we pick up our cameras. This led me to some photos I took several weeks ago while visiting my in-laws.

I think I mentioned this particular evening in one of my Scavenger Hunt posts. After dinner, we all went outside to enjoy the last hour of daylight. It was perfect. The sun was setting, the kids were playing…just perfect. I remember my husband pushing our nephew around the yard. I didn’t quite get them in focus, but I love the feeling that the lack of focus creates in my SOOC shot:

These are the kind of nights I wish I could hang onto forever. Anyways, I have another special treat this week. In response to my invitation to write guest tutorials, Michelle from Snapshots by Michelle has offered to write a tutorial for us on Thursday. I’m really looking forward to it.
With that in mind, I also invite anyone else who is interested in writing a guest editing tutorial to send me an email…or at least provide more ideas for tutorials. Be sure to check out other “Memories” SOOC shots at:
