Shoot and Edit: Week 45 – Family SOOC
Welcome to the 45th week of Shoot and Edit: Part 1! Click HERE for all the details and upcoming prompts/themes and past tutorials. This week our theme or prompt is “Family” (this is just a suggestion, you can show us any SOOC shot…much like I did this week). You have until Wednesday each week to link your SOOC shot up on Jill’s blog. On Thursday, you can link up your edits with ME after following some of my tips on how to edit your shots (or just post your edit on Thursday and you can pick up my tips for next week).

I’m shooting a lot of “family portraits” in anticipation for the holidays…Christmas Cards, etc. Unfortunately, I have not shot my own – maybe next weekend? But for today’s SOOC, I thought I’d share another photo of my sister and her boyfriend. Here’s the original:
Family Portrait SOOC

I’m pretty happy with my SOOC shot…it really just requires my typical workflow. However, I know that a lot of family portraits require a little cloning work. I’ll share a couple of other photos on Thursday along with my process for blending the photos to create the perfect family portrait. With that in mind, be sure to check out other “Family” SOOC shots at:

A cute portrait! Dogs in the family can sometimes be so hard to photograph. Are you aiming for an artsy edit, or a true to image edit?

I really love the dogs in this shot!

very nice such white cute pups.

I love it! Can’t wait to see what you do! I am so happy I finally got up pictures for this weeks scavenger hit and I will try to get up my photo for today’s prompt!

I think it’s a great SOOC shot! But I’m sure your edit will be amazing! :)

such a beautiful family portrait and it looks great as SOOC…

Great shot. I love the little pups in the shot.

    Cute photo of them :-)

You know I love maltese doggies :-)

    xo

What a great photo SOOC. I guess I could have posted one of my photos SOOC for today’s theme. I did t even pay attention…

lovely! Their puppies are so cute :)

It will be interesting to see what you do with this, as it looks so nice SOOC!
    Thanks for stopping by:)

Beautiful! I can’t wait to see what you do with it!

Love the pic- I don’t think it needs anything.

As for the cloning- when we had to cancel our plans for taking our pic 3 days in a row, my son says to me- “why don’t we just take the pics here & then use the magic extractor to put them into these pics of the location?”. The hubs had taken shots of the location while scouting it out the day before the weather went sour. Smart- but I had to explain to him that the whole vision would be lost if we pieced it together in that fashion. However- I may need to use your tips for making 5 perfect faces in these shots. It’s hard enough getting all 3 kids to smile the right way- add to that 2 parents (one operating the remote) and it’s got disaster written all over it :) Should be interesting!

such a cute portrait :) cant wait to see your edit :) hope you are doing well!

This is really great SOOC–I’m curious to see what you do with it! (Also, their dogs are the CUTEST!)

I love this shot, and their dogs are so cute! I can’t wait to see how you edit it!

    Great portrait and cute dogs!

so excited to see the edit. It always helps me seeing the SOOC and then the edit to get ideas for processing :)

they are a stinkin’ cute couple!

This is such a great shot! They are so cute together – especially with their dogs!

Looking forward to the tutorial on cloning – I took some photos for friends and it seems that I’m very good at capturing at least one person blinking!

They are such a happy couple.
I have been swamped shooting and editing families. And we sat down to do a self portrait of our own. I just hope the saying my grandpa had that farrier’s horse is always shoeless is right. It is suppose to show you are so good at what you do, you have no time to do it for yourself…

Cute puppies! Nice photo- interested to see the edit!

They are so cute. :D And love the puppies!

    This is a great one!

Your sister and her boyfriend make a cute couple! :)

Beautiful just as it is, and I love their dogs. :)

I LOVE that shot. Such a sweet picture of them!
