Shoot and Edit: Week 51 Part 2 – Happy New Year Edit (MOSAIC)
Happy New Year and welcome to the 51st and FINAL week of Shoot and Edit: Part 2. Click HERE for all the details and past prompts/themes (including previous editing tutorials). This week’s theme or prompt was to show us one “Happy New Year” SOOC shot (this was just a suggestion, you can show us any SOOC shot). Hopefully you linked up with Jill’s blog earlier this week.

It’s hard to believe that we’ve COMPLETED a year of shooting and editing. For the past 51 weeks, I have taken my SOOC shots and provided a simple/basic or advanced Photoshop/Photoshop Elements or Lightroom tutorial (or had guest tutorials).

Our goal all along for this challenge, was to be a learning experience. As I looked back through a year’s worth of edits this past week, I felt really good about what I’ve accomplished. Sure there’s plenty more left to be learned…but I’m hardly done with my photography journey. Needless to say, I’m a little sad that our year is coming to an end. While Jill and I have decided to close down Shoot and Edit (aka good to WOW), I am committed to sharing new photography and editing lessons with you in 2012…it’ll just be less frequent. Please please please let me know if you have any specific requests – this is a community, not a one-woman show.

I thought this week it’d be fun to see a collection of some of our favorite edited shots from the year. I used Big Huge Labs to pull my photos together (obviously I couldn’t pull the entire set, so I pulled 36 of the 51). It makes me happy to see them all together.

I’m looking forward to seeing either your edits or collages. I also hope you all have a great Thursday and a spectacular New Year’s Eve. Thanks for a great year – I’ll see you in 2012!
Good to WOW

How is it possible a year has gone by so quickly? You really did an amazing job with your photos and tutorials. I still have a couple of months left on my 365. I honestly have to say I’m ready for it to be over.

Hope you had a wonderful Christmas. Looking forward to what you have in store for the new year.

You took some amazing photos in 2011. I can’t wait to see what you come up with in 2012. :-)

Love your collage. Did you have them all organized in one folder so it was easy to find them all? I want to start fresh on my new laptop. I need organization tips.

Nicely done. The great thing about everyone’s year-in-review collages is you can see how much they’ve grown as a photographer. Such a great challenge!

So I didn’t do the edits, but this inspired me to do a similar collage for my year in review. I don’t comment often enough, but I still love to see and read what you’ve got each week and I hope you have a wonderful new year!

Great collage! Thank you so much for all the work you put into this. I couldn’t have learned so much and persevered without the weekly challenge. When life settles down after the holidays I’ll be sad it’s done, but look forward to what the new year will bring!

I have loved this challenge, thank you for all of your wonderful tips and tutorials! I used Big Huge Labs for my collage as well. What a cool site. Thank you for sharing!

How fun seeing your collage! I got mixed up and for some reason thought we were doing that next week. Linked my edits instead. Enjoyed the challenge this past year. Thanks so much for hosting the editing portion. I definitely learned a lot. Happy New Year! :)
