Scavenger Hunt Sunday
Look at that…it’s Sunday again. Last week, I swore that I’d be better prepared for Scavenger Hunt Sunday, but once again…I spent most of yesterday tracking down my last few shots. In fact, it’s currently 9:38 pm on Saturday night and I’m just now getting this post ready to launch. In all fairness, we’ve had some internet problems today so this is really the first time I’ve even had a chance to log on since I got home Friday night (which also explains why you haven’t received any email replies to Friday’s crazy self-portrait). And as of right now…the Christmas decorations are still up. No worries, the show must go on!

With that said, if you’ve participated in the Scavenger Hunt in the past, I hope this week’s items inspired you. If you’re new to the Scavenger Hunt…WELCOME! Next week’s items are sponsored by Megan.
Scavenger Hunt Sunday
The rules are simple:
  1. Anyone can participate.
  2. You’re encouraged to take five new photos this week for the challenge. Creativity is also encouraged!
  3. If you get stumped, you may use one photo from your archive (although I’m not too strict about it – I do my best to take fresh shots).
  4. Link up here on Sunday (or Tuesday at the latest) – you can use the button above.
  5. Leave comments for at least five entries around yours (we have so many new participants each week, this is the only way I know to be inclusive).
  6. Have fun!
Without further discussion…here are my interpretations this week:

1. Stacked Up
Stacked RS
I normally eat a bowl of cereal in the morning for breakfast…during the work week. On the weekend, we have a tendency to cheat a bit – in fact, my husband normally cooks breakfast. On this particular morning, he was feeling a bit lazy too so he took off to Mickey D’s. As you can see, he returned with hot cakes. Yum.

2. Winter Wonderland
Rainy Wonderland RS
We don’t quite have a winter wonderland right now in North Carolina…more like a “Rainy Wonderland.” The other night, I was driving home from work in the pouring rain. The lights looked kinda magical. I figured it was the closest I’d get to a winter wonderland, so I took a picture at the stoplight.

3. Sweet
Hey Babe RS
Get this – I still have “sweethearts” in my pantry from last year’s photo op…almost identical to the above shot. Thing is – I don’t even like them.

4. Hole
Water in the Hole RS
Water in the hole! I really thought I could come up with something a little more creative. In the end…all I could think of was a toilet. I guess you could say my mind was in the gutter…I mean toilet.

5. Frozen
Skinny Cow RS
I would love to photograph something frozen outside, but that’s not going to happen right now (although I really hope to see some frozen landscapes in today’s hunt). Instead, you’ll have to get a taste of frozen in my freezer. Oh yeah, I love some skinny cow ice cream. Those little cartons hit the spot!

What were your interpretations of the items this week? I can’t wait to check them out. Be sure to load your pictures on your blog (or your Flickr photostream) and link up at the bottom of this post. Feel free to grab a button to display on your blog along with your scavenger hunt items. The linky will be open until Tuesday night at midnight (EST). If you didn’t participate this week, but want to participate next week, here are your items (these can also be found at the bottom of my blog each week):
  1. Sunset
  2. Black and White
  3. A Day in My Life
  4. Four (suggested approach: a set of four photos that go together…four photos of your pet, around your house, scenery, whatever you like)
  5. Colorful
Again, thank you to Megan for so many great scavenger hunt items. If you’d like to contribute items to the list, just send me an email with your suggestions (I can better keep track of them this way). Each week, I will select one reader’s prompt list, add those items to what is currently on tap and give the selected reader a shout out on my blog during Scavenger Hunt Sunday. Happy Shooting!

PS:  Love Letters to Kitty Paw is coming soon. I am looking for a few sponsors to donate prizes. If you’re interested in being featured, please let me know!

PSS: Today is the last day you can enter Memories, Dreams and Reflections (open until midnight tonight). We’ve already beat last year’s participating record with 171 participants. Thanks so much for joining me…it’s been an awesome year and I will most likely bring it back again next year. You have the list so get ready!

My first thought was pancakes. After seeing yours Im making some at midnight ;) Thanks!

hee hee the hole one made me laugh!

I don’t like sweet hearts either! I think they are akin to antacids or chalk… yuck! At least your picture of them is sweet.

I was a bit down to the wire too today. I finished about a minute before you posted!

Your hole had me cracking up. Love your sweet

Oh Ice cream, pancakes… You are killing me :) Wonderful set Ashley!

Ha! Your hole shot us the best! Super creative on that one girly!!

Great shots. Love the first two. I am kind of ready for some snow, just so I can take some photos.

Stacked picture is very tempting. Love your hole also. Thanks

Never would have thought of a toilet; very creative! Love your shot of the pancakes!

    Woof Ashley!
I almost made my post in monochrome as tribute to my Popsy but then maybe next post?

    I love Hole and Sweet.

These are great! Wish my toilet looked that clean and sparkly. :)

Those pancakes look yummy. I almost took a picture of the hole in my sink, but changed my mind. I like your hole shot.

I confess, I thought of using a toilet for that prompt too! Love your set!

Oh, I love your set this week Ashley!! And your hole has me in stitches, only you could make a toilet look that good! LOL

Love your set Ashley, those pancakes look so good! I don’t like the sweethearts either but they’re so pretty, love your shot! Ha, you toilet is hilarious, I couldn’t figure out what it was at first, I got totally derailed by hole too, all week I was looking for holes!!

    Good morning Ashley,
This meme is so inspiring: I love going round and visiting as there are so many great sequences every week. Well done you for thinking of doing this for us.

Can’t stop laughing at the hole pic. XD

At least your toilet is sparkling clean. Wanna come clean mine? :D :D

LOL that hole shot! Your sweet shot is just that – such pretty colours.

haha! OMG, you crack me up…at least your toilet is sparkly clean! ‘Stacked’ totally gave me pancake cravings…and I love your creative solution to ‘winter wonderland’!

Awesome job considering it was last minute, I didn’t get to it this week- back next week I suppose.
Love your winter wonderland, & how clean your toilet is!

    Great and interesting shots!

I now have a mad craving for cookie dough ice cream! And pancakes… and sweet hearts….

I seriously love that first shot. Pancakes?! Nom, nom, nom.

Hey Ashley! This is my first time in the competition …. so exciting! Here one must be creative and use all their imagination. I am trying. Your pictures are great, I liked very well No. 1 and 3 Hope you get many contributions and wish you a super Sunday. Torunn Greetings from Norway.

Thank you very much for the wonderful themes all the time and this funny inspirations. Great !

Great shots this week! I love the pancakes. So do my girls. Yum! I am sort of glad for such a mild winter this year. After having to make up so many snow days last year it is nice to have spring break :) Have a great week!

A hotel toilet is the only one I’d ever photo — or in a home improvement store, still on the showroom floor. :)

    Fun photos.

Love the pancakes shot and toliet one!! LOL…at least the toliet was clean, hehe!

Great set! Loved your stack photo! Beautiful job!

Great shots – Sweet is my favorite!

These are great! It’s been a rainy winter in Boston, too! And those pancakes look delicious!

A great set, as always! Love stacked up and sweet! I was going to do something similar for stacked up, but went a different direction. And I love your take on hole. Too funny!

    Have a great day!

ok, i didn’t have time to browse through the other comments, but did anyone else remark on how clean your toilet is? :)

    Hi Ashley,
Great snapshots! Love Micky D’s pancakes. Have a great day!

    Food for Thought

The toilet one cracked me up!

I have never seen McDonald’s pancakes look so beautiful – great shot! Also love your winter wonderland shot!!

LOL… love the hole!! Mmm-mmm pancakes… and the sweet too (I like sweethearts, but only once a year!!). Have a good week!

I hate pancakes, but you made them look appetizing. Skillz!

Hey, do you like the skinny cow product? I’ve been trying to decide if we should get some. I’m trying so hard to lose the 10lbs I gained from not being able to get around much.

Great set as always. Thank you for being so inspiring all the time Ashley.

A toilet? I love your sense of humor. The first two shots really appeal, and I’d trade you the Skinny Cow for the icy mess that’s in my driveway anyday.

Oh if you want to capture some snow – my home is covered in it! Vacation?? We could swap houses – although I’m not sure kitty paw would like my kids! haha

I had to laugh at the toilet one so pristine too! I adore pancakes too with hot melted butter.

Your shots look great again. I love your winter wonderland shot. and very creative coming up with the toilet as a hole…

    Hugs, Linda

This is such a great idea! I just stumbled on your site while browsing photos on someone else’s site…anyway, I’m going to have to give this a shot for next week. Very cool! Thanks!

You amaze me- you can make a toilet look like art!!! Well done my friend.

Love your sweet picture, even though they don’t taste that good. Now McD’s pancakes on the other hand, YUM!!
    Great set :)

    Great shots as always :)

You probably still have those sweethearts around because you don’t like them. Yuck, would be the word I would use to describe them. :)

    Great set as always.

I love your pancake picture!! Your hole is very funny. Didn’t even think of something like that:)

I love your site and have been lurking for a long time! I might participate some day but MAN are the photographers good!
I love your toilet pic LOL… very clean!

beautiful set Ashley! I especially like your stacked up shot! looks delish!

ha! skinny cow ice cream – i’ve never seen that around here.(but i don’t get to the ice cream aisle very often either). i’m loving your creativity with winter wonderland – that’s a great shot. i admire your toilet bowl – it’s so pure i didn’t even recognize what it was! thanks for hosting SHS each week. it’s a blast. happy week to you Ashley. take care now.

Great photos. You struggled with similar prompts to me. Love your winter wonderland solution.

Loved the hole shot…brave girl! As usual, your photos are creative and inspiring…makes me want to take more chances! Thanks…I may have to join this group next week! I have been doing a series on churches on Sundays…

You had me at the pancakes but the skinny cow icecream will do it for me too. The toidie was genius. V

Yum those pancakes make me hungry!Im with you on the winter part, there is no winter happening here. I’ve never tried that icecream I’ll have to give it a try. Great shots this week!

My first thought when I read the list of prompts and saw “hole” was the toilet bowl but I resisted because I thought lots of people would use that. Not so, but you have done such a great job, as usual. Gotta try me some of that Skinny Cow ice cream.

Love all of those photos :D

I’m addicted to ice cream…I love all of your photos. Thanks for offering such a fun challenge.

    Such a fun group!

I have to go work on mine!!! Love your pancakes shot…they look way better than plain ol’ Micky D’s pancakes!!! Your hole shot is hilarious and so clean!! :)

Super set Ashley. The “toilet” shot was just hilarious. That would have never entered my mind.
    Loved your Sweet shot.
I see you also have had a non-winter wonderland (I cheated).
As always it’s been fun participating and viewing.

LOL, Ashley! I thought I’d have to resort to buying ice cream just to be able to photograph something frozen. How horrible that would be! Alas, we got a tiny bit of snow, so that will suffice. (Maybe I should get some ice cream to celebrate!)
    Sweet is so sweet
    love your Winter Wonderland lights
    Hole is hilarious

    Have a wonderful Sunday!

    Splendid Little Stars

It just occurred to me Ashley, that I have never commented on your photos. My deepest apologies. I don’t know why. Last week I was loving the one colour shot and this week, lovin the hole….if only my toilet were that white all the time!

These are great! Stacked makes me hungry. I love the conversation hearts, and I would not have been able to identify hole if you didn’t say. Very clean toilet!

Super shots gain Ashley… I love just hopping onto your blog and browsing. one of these days I WILL join in with Scavenger Hunt but your photo’s will keep me sweet until i do. ;-)
Now take those xmas decorations down!! hahaaa…
    Jennie. x

Another great week of hunt shots, love them. This week my favorite is your interpretation of “winter wonderland.”

That is one sparkly toilet! I’ve been following this fun challenge for awhile now, but have always been too nervous to submit my photos. I tried it this week…it was so much fun! Thank you for doing this!

Love the hole shot! Perfect! It made me laugh, thanks for that!

I love the lights! I’m not a big fan of those sweethearts either. They’re cute but not very tasty.

Love your winter wonderland, and the valentine shot. I can’t believe it’s coming up so soon already!

Great finds! I love Skinny Cow! Love that we both shot ice cream too.

I thought about pancakes but didn’t have the energy to make them this week, didn’t even think about getting some to go! Have a great week!

    Great set, as usual, Ashley!

Great hunt again. I really love the toilet and will try someday :) How did you made it so white? I am having a hard time with white on white situations.
Love your heart shot as well.
    Have a great week

    Looooooooooove this idea.
    Your photos were FabUlous. Xx

    I must try it, too.

I wish I had those pancakes!

Skinny Cow is so delicious! I haven’t yet indulged in valentine’s candy yet, but I came very close to this past weekend!

These are my absolute favorite kinds of shots that you do. Just random, around the house things that you make look like art. LOVE. When I come for a visit….these are the pics that I get most excited about! xoxo

This was my first Scavenger Hunt Sunday and I enjoyed it so much! The words kick started me into this year of photography.

Thanks for the visit to The Cottage on the Corner.

I cannot, cannot… believe you posted a picture of a toilet. LOL.

umm, you have the cleanest toilet i have ever seen. ha!

this was so fun to participate in again :)

This set was really fun. Can’t wait to start working on the next (rather than waiting til Sunday). Those pancakes looked delicious. . . I’d like some right now.

Yum. I love those fluffy pancake with butter. I love your hunt for this week. Clean and simple!;)

    What fun, Ashley!
But I can’t survive light breakfast.
    And I love Hole ;-)

Great shots, love that we both chose pancakes for the stacked up shot lol. Great minds think alike.

oh my gosh – the hole picture. Hilarious!

YOur photos are wonderful. Glad I found your site. :)

That toilet is way cleaner than the ones in my house, LOL!

Great images:) I’ve been burnt out on photography lately but this has inspired me to drag my camera back out:)

    Your “Winter Wonderland” is gorgeous!

    Kathy

    Oh yummy! Love that stack!

    Erika B

This is my first time visiting your blog…what wonderful photos and great ideas. I will be back and plan to participate from time to time.

I LOVE all of your pics! So creative! I totally would have had to clean my toilet bowl before taking that pic! And those were also some great looking pancakes! (Kinda weird talking about pancakes after toilet bowl) But yeah! Loving this idea! First time linking up and can’t wait till next week!

LOVE your candy shot Ashley…and you know what? I hate those candies…but they are fun to photograph! I swear I just bought a new box for a february shoot.

awesome shots!! that hole one made me laugh!! love it! and i just love that candy shot!! you rock at this!!

Super set Ashely. You even made a toilet bowl look good…now that’s talent ;)

    stacked is my favorite :D

Those pancakes are making me hungry! And your toilet? It’s immaculate! lol Is that weird of me to say? Haha

Anyway, I know you’ve got tons of comments to follow up on and a billion blogs to visit so I won’t keep you. Just wanted to let you know that we made our winter photo challenge announcement today. I’d love for you to stop by and join in when it starts up next month! Have a great day, Ashley! :)

Hi Ashley! I’ve missed the “list” for your hunt all these months… funny how we get attached to things ;) I just couldn’t keep up … but I am finding routine again… and back at it! Thanks for the visit! I love your candy heart pic… I don’t like them either… yet they are cute! ;)

That “hole” shot totally has me cracking up!
