Scavenger Hunt Sunday
Look at that…it’s Sunday again. Last week, I swore that I’d be better prepared for Scavenger Hunt Sunday, but once again…I spent most of yesterday tracking down my last few shots. In fact, it’s currently 9:38 pm on Saturday night and I’m just now getting this post ready to launch. In all fairness, we’ve had some internet problems today so this is really the first time I’ve even had a chance to log on since I got home Friday night (which also explains why you haven’t received any email replies to Friday’s crazy self-portrait). And as of right now…the Christmas decorations are still up. No worries, the show must go on!

With that said, if you’ve participated in the Scavenger Hunt in the past, I hope this week’s items inspired you. If you’re new to the Scavenger Hunt…WELCOME! Next week’s items are sponsored by Megan.
Scavenger Hunt Sunday
The rules are simple:
  1. Anyone can participate.
  2. You’re encouraged to take five new photos this week for the challenge. Creativity is also encouraged!
  3. If you get stumped, you may use one photo from your archive (although I’m not too strict about it – I do my best to take fresh shots).
  4. Link up here on Sunday (or Tuesday at the latest) – you can use the button above.
  5. Leave comments for at least five entries around yours (we have so many new participants each week, this is the only way I know to be inclusive).
  6. Have fun!
Without further discussion…here are my interpretations this week:

1. Stacked Up
Stacked RS
I normally eat a bowl of cereal in the morning for breakfast…during the work week. On the weekend, we have a tendency to cheat a bit – in fact, my husband normally cooks breakfast. On this particular morning, he was feeling a bit lazy too so he took off to Mickey D’s. As you can see, he returned with hot cakes. Yum.

2. Winter Wonderland
Rainy Wonderland RS
We don’t quite have a winter wonderland right now in North Carolina…more like a “Rainy Wonderland.” The other night, I was driving home from work in the pouring rain. The lights looked kinda magical. I figured it was the closest I’d get to a winter wonderland, so I took a picture at the stoplight.

3. Sweet
Hey Babe RS
Get this – I still have “sweethearts” in my pantry from last year’s photo op…almost identical to the above shot. Thing is – I don’t even like them.

4. Hole
Water in the Hole RS
Water in the hole! I really thought I could come up with something a little more creative. In the end…all I could think of was a toilet. I guess you could say my mind was in the gutter…I mean toilet.

5. Frozen
Skinny Cow RS
I would love to photograph something frozen outside, but that’s not going to happen right now (although I really hope to see some frozen landscapes in today’s hunt). Instead, you’ll have to get a taste of frozen in my freezer. Oh yeah, I love some skinny cow ice cream. Those little cartons hit the spot!

What were your interpretations of the items this week? I can’t wait to check them out. Be sure to load your pictures on your blog (or your Flickr photostream) and link up at the bottom of this post. Feel free to grab a button to display on your blog along with your scavenger hunt items. The linky will be open until Tuesday night at midnight (EST). If you didn’t participate this week, but want to participate next week, here are your items (these can also be found at the bottom of my blog each week):
  1. Sunset
  2. Black and White
  3. A Day in My Life
  4. Four (suggested approach: a set of four photos that go together…four photos of your pet, around your house, scenery, whatever you like)
  5. Colorful
Again, thank you to Megan for so many great scavenger hunt items. If you’d like to contribute items to the list, just send me an email with your suggestions (I can better keep track of them this way). Each week, I will select one reader’s prompt list, add those items to what is currently on tap and give the selected reader a shout out on my blog during Scavenger Hunt Sunday. Happy Shooting!

PS:  Love Letters to Kitty Paw is coming soon. I am looking for a few sponsors to donate prizes. If you’re interested in being featured, please let me know!

PSS: Today is the last day you can enter Memories, Dreams and Reflections (open until midnight tonight). We’ve already beat last year’s participating record with 171 participants. Thanks so much for joining me…it’s been an awesome year and I will most likely bring it back again next year. You have the list so get ready!
