Scavenger Hunt Sunday
This week…this month has flown by. Part of me is kinda excited to have another month of my pregnancy behind me, but the other part of me wants to hang on to every moment. I think the later feeling will be even stronger once I’m feeling baby kicks. Although, if my creativity can return…that’d be great. I still feel like it’s missing. Missing or not, I have a photo shoot this afternoon so it better make at least a partial return.

On another note, I posted a two things over the past couple of days that are worth your attention:
  1. Take a moment to VOTE for your FAVORITE LOVE LETTER to KITTY PAW. There are some amazing entries this year. You can vote for your top 2 favorites (and if I’m not mistaken, the form automatically resets every hour or so feel free to come back and vote as often as you’d like). Voting is open until 11:59 AM EST on Tuesday and winners will be announced on Wednesday.
  2. Just say NO…to Word Verification. If you missed my post on Friday, you’ll want to go back and read instructions for turning off word verification within your comment section. Considering that Scavenger Hunt Sunday is consistently reaching about 140 participants, it’s becoming more difficult (and more annoying) to comment when a word verification is present.
Anyways, if you’ve participated in the Scavenger Hunt in the past, I hope this week’s items inspired you. If you’re new to the Scavenger Hunt…WELCOME! Next week’s items are sponsored by Amanda of Breathing in the Wind.
Scavenger Hunt Sunday
The rules are simple:
  1. Anyone can participate.
  2. You’re encouraged to take five new photos this week for the challenge. Creativity is also encouraged!
  3. If you get stumped, you may use one photo from your archive (although I’m not too strict about it – I do my best to take fresh shots).
  4. Link up here on Sunday (or Tuesday at the latest) – you can use the button above.
  5. Leave comments for at least five entries around yours (we have so many new participants each week, this is the only way I know to be inclusive).
  6. Have fun!
Without further discussion…here are my interpretations this week:

1. Crossed
Crossed RS
I somehow managed to forget to take a “crossed” photo this week so I dipped into my unprocessed archives and found this shot taken back in November. There are plenty of crossed spots on this picnic bench.

2. A Glimpse
Photographer Diaper RS
Earlier this week, I received an awesome baby gift from Tiffany at Bohemian Baby Couture. In case you can’t read it, it says “Future Photographer.” I can’t hardly wait until my baby is wearing this…until then, this baby doll provides a glimpse into my near future.

3. Handwritten
Handwritten RS
I don’t know that I’ve ever mentioned how I take notes during church…but I use a notebook that my friend Larissa sent me sometime last year. Larissa and I are pen pals (in addition to being bloggy buddies) and she occasionally sends me neat stuff she’s made. This notebook is by far one of my most-used gifts….so thanks Larissa!

4. Bliss
Ear Plugs RS
I wasn’t sure how to photograph bliss, so I took a step back and asked myself what brings me bliss. The first thing that came to mind was sleep. As a child, I almost hated to go to sleep because I was scared of the dark. I couldn’t sleep without a night light.

Then I reached a point in my life where I just wanted to stay up all night. I remember our niece being this way last summer when she stayed with us. She asked if she could stay up late. Our response…”knock yourself out, but we’re going to bed.” I think she made it another 30 minutes.

These days, I can’t get enough sleep. You might blame it on being pregnant, but I’ve been that way for a few years. However, in order to get a peaceful night’s rest, I need my ear plugs and eye mask. Then it’s nothing but sweet blissful sleep.

5. Gray
Gray Day RS
I really should have captured “gray” last Sunday – the sky was so gray that day, but I was lazy and thought I’d have another chance. Well…it was BEAUTIFUL this past week (not that I saw much of it since I was in a conference for a couple of those days), so the only gray skies I was able to create were in Photoshop. I did use Kim Klassen’s Gray Day texture though.

So, what were your interpretations of the items this week? I can’t wait to check them out. Be sure to load your pictures on your blog (or your Flickr photostream) and link up at the bottom of this post. Feel free to grab a button to display on your blog along with your scavenger hunt items. The linky will be open until Tuesday night at midnight (EST). If you didn’t participate this week, but want to participate next week, here are your items (these can also be found at the bottom of my blog each week), sponsored by Amanda of Breathing in the Wind:
  1. Routine
  2. Music
  3. Technology
  4. Show Me Your Style
  5. Mismatch
Again, thank you to Amanda for so many great scavenger hunt items. If you’d like to contribute items to the list, just send me an email with your suggestions (I can better keep track of them this way). Each week, I will select one reader’s prompt list, add those items to what is currently on tap and give the selected reader a shout out on my blog during Scavenger Hunt Sunday. Happy Shooting!

oh I’m with you on the sleep issue – I use the sleep mask and a sleep machine!

    LOVE the baby panties!

ps – I have word verification due to SPAM – it is CRAZY-ness on my blog otherwise.

My bliss picture is related to sleep as well. But mine is a picture of one of my kids sleeping. I am sure you will discover with your little one that when they sleep, it is bliss for you!

What a sweet outfit! I love the composition on your handwritten shot! I was sooooo tired during my pregnancies; hope you are able to sleep well!

That is the cutes thing ever!, even on a doll. I like your bench shot.

Hi!! I love your photos especially crossed and the creative take on bliss!! Adorable glimpse!! Hope you have a great day!

I love your glimpse photo! And I love that you take notes in church. :)

Great set Ashley, love the tones in your crossed shot! Your writing is so beautiful, my notes would look like chicken scratch! I love your take on Bliss!

BTW I totally agree with you on the word verification, I got rid of mine several months ago and I have had no spam. It’s been such a struggle lately too, two words and squiggly lines!! Slows things down incredibly!

Love this weeks shots! I used ear plugs before i had my daughter. I didnt feel comfortable with those anymore because I had to be able to hear her, so my sleep is not “the same”. Even when she’s in her TEENS I cant sleep with them! Ill be having to make sure she doesn’t sneak out, LOL!

Love the glimpse shot . . . those little wrinkles on the doll’s foot look so real.

So cute a glimpse photo !!!! Your gray and crossed are from everyday. Bliss looks delicious. Handwriting shows your style. Cool photos all !!!

    Have a nice Sunday :)

I’m so glad you explained what Bliss was…when I first saw it, I thought those earplugs were little candies (can anyone guess what brings ME bliss ;D) Great set…that little diaper cover (?) is adorable! Can’t wait to see it on your future photographer <3

Love the future photographer baby pants- so cute!

That red of your glimpse is so cute and I love your neat cursive handwriting. Have a restful and happy weekend!

I just loved being pregnant too – I cherish the memory so much! Especially my first pregnancy. Pregnancy #2 was still great, but I had to look after a baby during the 2nd one – so there wasn’t as much time to just enjoy it. Soak it all in now:) Great set this week. I know you pulled it from the archives, but your crossed shot was my favourite.

i am back scavenger hunting again and enjoying it :) love your glimpse!

and oh so glad you raised the issue of word verification. it annoys me no end!

Love you take on the prompts, the glimpse one is wonderful, love the light and the composition.

Love them all! Have a nice Sunday :)
    xoxo

    Woof!
To sleep well, I eat a lot, bark for grooming and massage and then I go home and plopped on my pillows!

And now I am going to the local TV to get people to vote for me. And now I wonder: will I get to bring Kitty home if I win, Ashley?

Great shots…love that Glimpse into baby’s wardrobe!

    Lovely shots :)

I really hate word verifications too!!!!

Sweepy got me in. He is also pestering everybody to vote for him because he thought he can bring Kitty home. What dud! I think I should get a puppy playmate for him ;-)

I love your interpretations this week. You always find the most interesting images!

I love your interpretations – and your photography is always inspiring! Great job!

SUch creative photos for the prompts! Love your a glimpse, super duper cute!

Could glimpse be any cuter!? I also thought your bliss was candy until I read your blurb! Have a great week!

Great photos. Like you I struggled with bliss but got there in the end. Suzy x

Goodness…what a fun (and adorable!) gift. LOVE it.

I love the future photographer diaper cover! That is so cute! I also love the handwritten sermon notes. I love taking notes because it helps me focus.

Lovely shots Ashley! That is one adorable diaper! And I really love your first shot ;)

I love reading about your pregnancy! That baby bum photo is so cute! And I love your bliss one..very creative!!!

I am totally with you on sleep. I feel like I never get enough! AJ always borrows my sleep mask when he works nights!

That baby glimpse is so cute, what a fabulous baby gift!

    Have a great week!

Happy Sunday Ashley. I see that baby bump growing! Love the photos you gave for this challenge, especially glimpse!

    Love the pics.

I hate word verification. I’ve lost a lot of comments because I’ve closed off a window after I thought it posted when it was only loading the verification screen.

Love your crossed and bliss shots! That diaper cover is just precious!!

Future photog….that’s for sure. I really like your gray shot-I like gray but it says mundane or day to day or obvious-you’ve got the ordinary and made it look good.
I’m right there with you on the sleep.

I have not been here — or joined in for a while! Congrats on your bun in the oven! How exciting!

LOVE that diaper cover!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so happy you talked about the word verification. I think the Blogger changes may have done something because I am noticing that most people have the word verification on now- which is really frustrating. While I have mine turned off- the other issue is getting my email to show when leaving comments- somehow blogger messed that up too. I love communicating with those that leave comments & I leave comments for- so to have that go away is annoying.

Especially loved your gray shot – it brings me back to the wonderful shots your shared of your european tour last year – you’re so clever and skilled with expansive shots.

oh, my gosh, ashley. i just learned yesterday that you are pregnant, when i came here to see how to do my first scavenger hunt sunday {as i kept seeing others posts and wanted to try it}. i am DELIRIOUSLY happy for you. i get that way whenever i see or hear that anyone is pregnant with their first. such an exciting time! it actually makes me a little bit sad, because it makes mre really miss that time of my life. it went by so fast, and i want to do it all again. my pregnancy was difficult at times, but it was such an amazing time. i know you will find it amazing, too… probably are already. you are adorable pregnant… as all women are. i’m so glad you are sharing your journey here with us. i really look forward to watching it all as you blog along the way. it brings such a smile to my face. many CONGRATS and blessings. God bless you and your growing family {and belly *wink*}. ~XO

That little diaper cover is adorable and looks so soft! And your gray sky had me fooled…I thought it was the real thing.

Sleep! I never thought of that! Just joined today, thanks for having me, this is such a great idea!

Great shots! I love your glimpse and handwritten shots!!!

Ha ha, I bet you’ll be ditching those ear plugs when the baby arrives!!

    Lovely photos, as usual!

Isn’t funy how our need for sleep, or at least our perceived need changes through out our lives? I am in the I love to go to bed and sleep stage. :)

Sleep really does equal bliss when you’re pregnant!

    Great set!

    Great series yet again.
I loved the creativity with the Glimpse shot (that is one cool outfit)
The EarBuds for your Bliss shot were unexpected, colorful and fun.
Loved the Gray shot, We’ve had plenty of gloomy gray days here this month.

This is fun. I think I will have to join in one of these days!

Cute finds. Love the “nappy” cover! :-)

    Hi Ashly,
Great shots! Like your Glimpse shot, cute. Have a great day!

    Sherrie
    Food for Thought

Great shots! And I LOVE the diaper cover!!

Your photos are so lovely, as always – the crossed one is so dreamy and pleasing to my eye. The bliss one made me smile – sleep is so precious and, yes, it is pure bliss! And lastly, your glimpse photo is adorable! :)

all pictures are lovely..inspiring me to take more lovely pictures in the future. Great interpretation too. Nice baby gift for your future photographer

lol…I had to laugh at the BLISS…I have those EXACT ear plugs, RIGHT by my bedside!!! great shots this week Ashley.

Love the baby diaper cover! So sweet! And your gray picture is great! We had plenty of gray days here this week. Although we usually started out sunny and ended the day gray. Weird. Your bliss picture made me giggle. And remind me that I need to get some more ear plugs. I was looking for mine this morning so I could sleep in a little while my boys were downstairs making enough noise for about 10 boys. :) Needless to say, I couldn’t find them and ended up getting up.

Hope you get some more energy soon!

I love that baby gift! And I hear you about the sleeping thing. These days as soon as it’s light in the room, I’m awake. But I can’t stand ear plugs or eye shades. I need room darkening shades..that’s what I need. Then I wouldn’t need so much coffee.

I cannot wait to see your lil one’s photoshoot in those britches!!!!
    I LOVE my earplugs too!

Great shots. Glimpse is just great. After six kids and now 16 grand kids I know what the glimpse really is. Enjoy each moment for that moment and you will really have a great time. Love your pictures.

OMG that cloth diaper is too precious!!

Posting late wasn’t sure I was going to… My Smuckers passed away this weekend really sucks. Anyway my favorite is gray have a great week!

    Saun

So what do you do if you don’t have a blog but you still want to participate and link up. I have the pics on my Flickr stream just not sure how to add them or if that is even possible? Thanks

Love love that red baby bottom! =) cute! speaking of babies… that is about the time I stopped taking notes in church!~! =) life changes in ways you wouldn’t otherwise think… even the simple things! =) speaking of notes… love your note picture!~ blessings~

I can’t stand it! The “future photographer” bum is so cute! Great set!!

Such wonderful shots. I always love seeing what you come up with…

Your Bliss shot is so creative!

Love your gray image, and your new header! Can’t wait to find out what your having! My guess is a girl!

Thank you SO much for hosting this brilliant link up each week… not only is it a great challenge, it’s great fun!

Also, thanks for consistently stopping by my blog- you are amazing!

Wonderful set this week!!! Love the little diaper cover! OH… and how I love my sleep!! Look forward to the weekends when I can sleep in a little and avoid the morning rush. Have a great week!

Love you handwritten show…and I love that diaper cover…just too cute…I think I need to buy one now and save it!

Goodness, I love the diaper cover! What a pretty (and thoughtful) gift. :)

That diaper cover is too cute! Love the crossed photo. I remember being so tired when I was pregnant. Get that sleep.

I love all of the photos in this set, I take notes in church too. All though the notebook you have looks like its better then mine. The paper looks thicker. Have a great day!

I really like taking notes in church. I keep meaning to go buy an actual notebook so I don’t keep collecting stacks of the bulletins with notes in the margins. As always, great pictures. And I’m excited you’re doing my suggestions for the SHunt next week!

Oh my goodness, that diaper is adorable! And I have a notebook addiction, I love that yours has such meaning.

Loved your set. Sleep is bliss!! I have to warn you though, once the baby comes, you won’t be able to wear the earplugs. Or at least, I never did…. I had to be on the listen for any midnight stirrings from my littles. And there were lots of them. Then again, maybe I should have kept those earplugs in! Hee.

Wonderful photos, as always. Love your glimpse photo. Can’t wait to see a re-make of it with a real baby :)

I hope that your photo session went well! Thanks for a great link up as always.

LOVING the future photog diaper cover–does this mean you’re toying with the idea of cloth diapers? ;D And I hear you on sleep, although that’s becoming harder to come by–I just can’t get comfortable any more!
