Scavenger Hunt Sunday
Well look at that – it’s Sunday again. Time certainly flies when you’re having fun, doesn’t it? I’m not sure that I’m necessarily having fun, but I did realize this week that I’ve been taking an unannounced blog vacation for the past few weeks. Sure I’ve still been posting, but I have been really bad about visiting other blogs outside of those who link up with me for the Scavenger Hunt and Tutorial Tuesday. You guys have told me before to stop apologizing, but I really am sorry that I’ve been away. I hate to blame the baby, but I kinda feel like my creative energy is lacking…thus my desire to blog is also lacking. I’ll be back soon – I promise.
I hope you won’t take my bloggy break out on Kitty Paw. Last year, she received over 60 Love Letters. This year, she’s only received 14 so far. However, there is still time to send in your “letters.” Click HERE for more information. And remember, there are prizes involved…really good prizes. Anyways, if you’ve participated in the Scavenger Hunt in the past, I hope this week’s items inspired you. If you’re new to the Scavenger Hunt…WELCOME! Next week’s items are sponsored by Brooke of My Real Everyday Life.
Scavenger Hunt Sunday
The rules are simple:
  1. Anyone can participate.
  2. You’re encouraged to take five new photos this week for the challenge. Creativity is also encouraged!
  3. If you get stumped, you may use one photo from your archive (although I’m not too strict about it – I do my best to take fresh shots).
  4. Link up here on Sunday (or Tuesday at the latest) – you can use the button above.
  5. Leave comments for at least five entries around yours (we have so many new participants each week, this is the only way I know to be inclusive).
  6. Have fun!
Without further discussion…here are my interpretations this week:

1. Love
Love RS
I imagine that there was a lot of love floating around this week. My husband and I were actually able to celebrate Valentine’s Day together…on Valentine’s (typically we celebrate the weekend before or after). I bought him this card – and I mean it. I really love that he’s my best friend.

2. Duplicated
I had absolutely no idea what to do with this particular prompt, so I decided to duplicate my 16 week bump photo using a pop art effect I found online. It’s probably not the best use of the pop art effect…oh well. I guess I could have surprised you with a twin announcement, but that would have been a lie.

3. Trending
Trending RS
I don’t use Twitter nearly enough, so it took me a minute to even find recent trends. When I went to Tweet Stats earlier yesterday, I found that #WhitneyCNN was one of the top trends. So, I did a Twitter search and found that Whitney Houston’s funeral was being broadcast live on CNN.

4. Paper
Paper - Baby Bargains RS
I think someone commented yesterday that if I hadn’t already, that I pick up a copy of Baby Bargains. As it so happens, I already own a copy…and it has been a HUGE help in identifying a lot of my big ticket baby registry items. I’m also planning on going to a big consignment sale in another week or so.

5. Plastic
Tiny Plastic Camera RS
Most cameras contain a certain amount of plastic…however, this is not a real camera – it’s a pencil sharpener. If you look closely, you can see pencil shreddings.
Go to Brooke's BlogSo, what were your interpretations of the items this week? I can’t wait to check them out. Be sure to load your pictures on your blog (or your Flickr photostream) and link up at the bottom of this post. Feel free to grab a button to display on your blog along with your scavenger hunt items. The linky will be open until Tuesday night at midnight (EST). If you didn’t participate this week, but want to participate next week, here are your items (these can also be found at the bottom of my blog each week), sponsored by Brooke of My Real Everyday Life:
  1. Crossed
  2. A Glimpse
  3. Handwritten
  4. Bliss
  5. Gray
Again, thank you to Brooke for so many great scavenger hunt items. If you’d like to contribute items to the list, just send me an email with your suggestions (I can better keep track of them this way). Each week, I will select one reader’s prompt list, add those items to what is currently on tap and give the selected reader a shout out on my blog during Scavenger Hunt Sunday. Happy Shooting!

I love that pencil sharpener. It is so cool. I totally need to get one!

I am not even on “the twitter”, so I had to look up trends too. Luckily I was searching on Valentine’s day. hehe.

I really love your duplicated, so cute AND colorful!

And where ever did you find that cute pencil sharpener?

I’ve decided to take a break this week. Ditto on the lack of creative energy!

I think a bloggy break is totally okay, sometimes you just need a little break. Like last week, I didn’t post a scavenger hunt because I just wasn’t feeling creative, no need to apologize :)

LOVE your ‘Love, Duplicated & Plastic’ shots. I think the pop art pic would be cool of like 4 stage of your pregnancy, all same pose, on canvas for the baby’s nursery.

I love you plastic shot – I had no idea it wasn’t an actual camera:) Hope you feel better soon!

You were much more creative than I was! Cool effects. I have no experience with twitter, so I used a trend in our home that had gone away and seems now to be back.

I think that is a great use of Pop Art, and that is a very cute pencil sharpener.

My fave is the way you interpreted duplicate. Great. And I hope your hubby loved that card. How could he not?
You are a faithful visitor-stop beating yourself up and just do the best you can. You’ve got stuff on your mind, mama.
I’m wondering how KP is appreciating that shared billing on the header.

Duplicate is so fun! I love the pencil sharpener! I agree that you needn’t apologize for not being on blogs all the time….you are growing a baby!

Great prompts this week again… though I messed up the trending prompt… thought it was trend!! Anyway love that pencil sharpener -almost bought it for myself last week :)

Super series. Your Duplicated was so fun and colorful. That Plasic Camera Pencil sharpener, how adorable. – Oh and by the way I loved your Baby Photo this week. You have cool clothes and it’s fun seeing the size of the baby as fruit.

Great set this week, I love that camera sharpener! I thought the bump photo art was a great idea and came out really good. You don’t need to apoligize to me about being tired and non bloggie, I know just how you feel, I’ve been staring at my computer for over an hour trying to work up the energy to visit SHS blogs.

Aww, cute card. Love your paper, I’m sure you’re keeping a good read about babies nearby!:) Nice series

I almost forgot to link this week, Ashley! It is my Duplicate’s drooly fault!

Now where can I get that woofy sharpener?

Pregnancy does have way of zapping your creative energy… it’ll be back! And you did great with your photos this week anyway. I like how you thought outside the box with your “duplicate” photo. Love that you chose Brooke’s items for next week. I’ve got them written down!

Totally love your Duplicate and the Love is sweet. (My hubby is my best friend too) and your (Plastic) sharpener is super cool. Hope you are feeling good. As always I love reading your blog. Have a good week :)

I was just about to compliment th camera and noticed it’s a sharpener! That’s one cool sharpener. Suzy

Great photos! Love the “plastic” one. I have never seen a pencil sharpener like that. Where did you find it? Someone let me borrow a couple of their Baby Bargain books and they have been extremely helpful to me as well. :)

Baby bargains rocks! THat was my bible when I was pregnant and registering … and truly helped us choose most of our stuff! :)

That pencil sharpener is awesome! And don’t feel bad about taking a bit of a break–just take it easy and enjoy your pre-baby time! And BTW, consignment sales are totally the way to go when it comes to baby/kid stuff–some of the deals are just amazing!
