- Yesterday, I had the most delicious chocolate, banana, peanut butter protein smoothie. I think our little girl liked it because I could feel her moving around quite a bit.
- I am 19 weeks pregnant today, which means that I’m almost half way through my pregnancy.
- I am still not wearing maternity pants. I have at least two pairs of pre-pregnancy pants that fit without the addition of the bella band. For those that don’t button/zip all the way up, I just add the bella band and that seems to do the trick.
- I tried on maternity pants yesterday at Old Navy and Motherhood. I didn’t get a lot, but I now have a pair of gym pants, a pair of black trousers for work and a long black skirt (in addition to long layering tanks and a few random maternity shirts I bought during a sale a month or so ago). When I do really “pop,” I’m ready.
- I am really looking forward to the daylight savings time change on Sunday. Not only will I be able to take on (photography) client work after my normal business hours (which would be way better from a lighting perspective), but I’m gaining back time for me and my camera.
- I spent my summers on a sailboat at Camp Don Lee on the Neuse River. You’d hardly know it by looking at me now, but I had the most beautiful golden tan. It was during those summers that I created my first AOL Screen name: SailnASH ( no longer in service).
- I have a creepy obsession with what normal people consider weird television programming (at least what my husband considers weird). Oh…you want examples? Being Human, Vampire Diaries, Face Off, American Horror Story and the Walking Dead just to name a few. Blood clearly doesn’t bother me.
- You may or may not be interested in my occupation outside of photography – straight out of college, my first “job” was in content development within a training and development group…within a management consulting firm. Eight years later and I’m with the same company, but I do a lot more than content development. In addition to custom training solutions and succession planning, I most recently took over the recruiting function and have successfully hired on three new consultants in the past eight months.
- Many years ago, I teamed up with my parents to pull a prank on one of their friends. I can’t give you any more details than that, but I can tell you that this friend is still looking for the “responsible party.”
- I bought six boxes of Girl Scout cookies this year. There were two scouts in the office (well their mothers), so I divided my order between the two of them. Interestingly enough, even though I’ve been a fan of the classic Thin Mint for years, I’ve recently found a new appreciation for the shortbread cookie. Yum!
- I may or may not have gotten hit on by a guy at Orange Julius/Dairy Queen last night (after my trip to Motherhood with Casey). Looks like my pregnant butt has still got it! HA HA!!
- What is one thing your working on to change/better about yourself?
- Right now I’m really focused on preparing myself for motherhood. I have taken better care of my body in the past 4.5 months than I ever did pre-pregnancy.
- What is your dream car?
- I’ve driven a Honda for as long as I’ve been driving…cars just aren’t my thing. Since my father-in-law owns a Ford dealership, I’m kinda destined to drive Fords in the future…and if that’s the case, I have my eyes on the new Ford Explorer.
- If you could have one talent you don’t already have, what would it be?
- I’d be a legitimate homemaker…cooking, cleaning, sewing. Not only would my husband love it, but I think I’d be pretty good at it if I only had the time and energy to devote to it. Working full time makes that difficult.
- What is your favorite part of the day?
- Bedtime. Is that lame? I really love the hours between getting home from work/gym and going to bed. However, I’m a bit of a couch potato, so you’ll usually find me on the couch with both the TV and computer going.
- What is your favorite day of the week?
- Probably Saturday – we usually sleep in and enjoy being lazy until it’s time to go to church.
- What did you want to be when you were a little kid?
- I don’t even remember – I think I always wanted to be a mom. Can’t finally wait to hit that goal!
- What’s your favorite physical feature about yourself?
- My eyes I guess…overall, I’m pretty satisfied with my appearance. However, I wish my skin were clearer.
- What would you love your kids/future kids to grow up to be professionally some day?
- I just want my children to be happy. In fact, we’re currently in the process of naming our daughter and I often play out names with various occupations (attorney, doctor, photographer, model, business woman, etc). I don’t want to place any preconceived ideals on my children as to what they should be…I just want them to find their passion.
- What is a pet peeve of yours?
- I never seem to know the answer to this type of question until it’s right in front of me, but here’s a few: sending an email and then walking over to my desk to ask if I got the email; using fowl language within casual conversation – if you’re going to use it, at least use it for the purpose of expressing emotion; and texting/looking at your phone while driving!
- What would your husband/significant other/best friend say is their favorite thing about you?
- The first thing that comes to mind is my “big brown eyes.” I think he’s also said that he loves that I’m so creative and independent…it’s the same thing that drives him crazy about me.
- What is your dream vacation?
- I got back and forth on vacations. When I’m on a relaxing vacation, I kinda wish I was out exploring. On the other hand, when I’m on adventure types of vacations, I just want to relax. I think our honeymoon was the perfect combination of adventure and relaxation…let’s do that again.
