Scavenger Hunt Sunday
Can you believe it’s already March? Five more months…until AUGUST! Not only that, I’m hopeful that consistent warm weather is just around the corner…which of course means that I’m also hopeful that my creativity comes back. My husband was just telling me that he really misses my outdoor/nature shots. I told him I did too – I really want some warm and sunny days to enjoy with my camera. Soon!

Anyways, if you’ve participated in the Scavenger Hunt in the past, I hope this week’s items inspired you. If you’re new to the Scavenger Hunt…WELCOME! Next week’s items are sponsored by Yolanda of In Yolanda’s Farmlife.
Scavenger Hunt Sunday
The rules are simple:
  1. Anyone can participate.
  2. You’re encouraged to take five new photos this week for the challenge. Creativity is also encouraged!
  3. If you get stumped, you may use one photo from your archive (although I’m not too strict about it – I do my best to take fresh shots).
  4. Link up here on Sunday (or Tuesday at the latest) – you can use the button above.
  5. Leave comments for at least five entries around yours (we have so many new participants each week, this is the only way I know to be inclusive).
  6. Have fun!
Without further discussion…here are my interpretations this week:

1. Routine
Morning Cereal RS
My day wouldn’t be the same without a bowl of cereal. Actually, if I had a plate of pancakes or waffles…it might be even better, but for time and nutritional value, I do love a bowl of cereal.

2. Music

I wasn’t quite sure how to photograph music in a way that I haven’t already, so I decided to share a music video I saw yesterday while getting ready for church. I had to walk away at some point because I started crying. Yes, these times are hard, but they will pass.

3. Technology
Technology RS
I initially photographed an outlet with my laptop power cord plugged in, but my husband told me that that technology was old. So, he told me to photography his tablet set up…I went with just the keyboard that I bought him for Christmas.

4. Show Me Your Style
My Style RS
My mom and dad wanted to have dinner with us on Friday night so we could reveal our baby’s gender to them in person (in case you missed it – click HERE). My mom has felt like this baby would be a girl since ultrasound #1, so I knew that if I wore blue, it would really screw with her. Needless to say…it did exactly what I wanted it to do. She walked into the restaurant and saw me – her first words were, “you’re wearing blue.”

But back to my style…right now, I’m really enjoying leggings and long layering tank tops. I have still not bought any maternity pants so leggings are my go-to on the weekends when I don’t feel like wearing a belly band. I am also loving these boots that my sister gave me (for Christmas) and scarves (this particular one, my friend Mary gave me for Christmas). However, after I took this picture, I went to the bathroom…apparently there was a rip in my leggings right down my rear end. I changed into jeans…with the belly band.

5. Mismatch
Mismatched Socks RS
Well isn’t this predictable…a pair of mismatched socks. Apparently, I ran out of creative energy.

So, what were your interpretations of the items this week? I can’t wait to check them out. Be sure to load your pictures on your blog (or your Flickr photostream) and link up at the bottom of this post. Feel free to grab a button to display on your blog along with your scavenger hunt items. The linky will be open until Tuesday night at midnight (EST). If you didn’t participate this week, but want to participate next week, here are your items (these can also be found at the bottom of my blog each week), sponsored by Yolanda of In Yolanda’s Farmlife:
  1. Water
  2. Light
  3. Chocolate
  4. Animal
  5. Crowded
Again, thank you to Yolanda for so many great scavenger hunt items. If you’d like to contribute items to the list, just send me an email with your suggestions (I can better keep track of them this way). Each week, I will select one reader’s prompt list, add those items to what is currently on tap and give the selected reader a shout out on my blog during Scavenger Hunt Sunday. Happy Shooting!

I knew it! I really love your interpretations this week, love that bowl of cereal – the light is so nice! Love your style shot- so cute!! I’m going to go watch the music video now…..I couldn’t make the hunt this week…a bum knee and a pair of crutches and I just couldn’t quite get ‘er done. Hopefully this week will be better, I know I’m already inspired by the prompts.

    Have a great week!

You are looking like a super cute pregnant lady! And congrats on a girl! How fun! Having 3 boys, I won’t be of much help, but I can tell you it will be SO much more fun shopping for a girl. Hooray!

haha, love how you messed with your mom! And seriously girl, you’re pregnant?! You look amazing in your “Show Me Your Style” shot. By the time I was done with my pregnancy with Isaac, I was wearing Ty’s workout pants because I didn’t want to buy maternity jeans. I should have just bought the jeans because of pregnancy #2! Buy a pair or two, enjoy them, store them for later if need be :)

    That outfit is adorable!!

Great photos, really love your light. Your style photo is great!

    You are too cute.

Apologies for not participating- I had serious photo-block & just couldn’t think of anything. It was really disturbing.

I’m loving your pictures this week and the video was great. I hadn’t seen that before but, I’m quite sure that it will encourage a lot of people. I tell myself that all the time..these times are really hard, but I know someday they will pass. That is what gives me the umph to keep going and keep smiling! Love that last picture of you!! What a gorgeous gal and momma to be you are!

    You always make me laugh.
What on earth is a belly band? Sounds like torture.

Love that first shot! I do love a good bowl of cereal in the mornings. Cute cute syle you have there, too :)

    love those boots!

i had way more fun with my style while pregnant, than i did before i got pregnant… and i used to consider myself very style-conscious in those days. but when you have a baby bump to work around and with, you have to be way more creative, and that just ups the fun factor!

your little bump is so cute. can’t wait to see what that little peanut will look like. congrats on finding out it’s a girl! a little baby ashley running around… how sweet is that? =)

You look great! I’m looking forward to the warm weather, too.

    I’ll link up tomorrow. :)

I just love that selfie shot. You look wonderful. So cute with that little baby bump!!!

What a neat song, love how it ends. Very creative and moving. Good job on fooling your mom with the blue as well. :-)

    Cutest pregnant girl ever. Ever.

Your cereal looks yummy, and you are very cute! The thing that jumped out at me this week, though, is your use of negative space. I have a hard time using it! But I am learning. Thanks for the great examples!

    You look so cute pregnant

OMG, I love that video! Also, I love cereal and your socks. :) PS: Congratulations on finding out you’re having a girl. Isn’t it so exciting?!

I, too, was touched by the music video and song by SafetySuit. They showed the video at our church several weeks ago and I immediately bought the song. They WILL pass!

Congrats! Girls are so much fun!

I love your picture of the cereal. You are the master of white apace.

Those boots are gorgeous and you look so stylish. Have a great week!

You look so great in your outfit and boots! Very stylish mom to be!! Funny how you messed with your poor mom! :)

Your style is pretty darn cute! Looking forward to next week’s scavenger hunt: chocolate, now that is a tough assignment! (wink wink)

Congrats on your baby girl! =) sweet times!! I am so hungry right now and your bowl of cereal looks so delish! who knew cereal could be so photogenic! ha ha… I have to ask… how tall are you? in your style pic you look taller than the door frame!?? assuming that is probably the angle? oh & I love your boots! =)

I totally lose inspiration during the winter months too! I know how that goes. This scavenger hunt thing is a great idea for getting that inspiration back.

All great shots Ashley! Love your style photo. You are adorable ;)
