Scavenger Hunt Sunday
First and foremost, I want to thank each of you for your condolences last week. It means so much to me to know that I am part of such a loving, creative and supportive community. I also want to thank you for giving me some time away from blogging. Not that I really needed to be anywhere (since I went back to work on Tuesday), but the quiet time was really necessary.

With that said, let’s get back to the hunt. If you’ve participated in the Scavenger Hunt in the past, I hope this week’s items inspired you. If you’re new to the Scavenger Hunt…WELCOME! Next week’s items are sponsored by Kamana of Journaling through Photos.
Scavenger Hunt Sunday
The rules are simple:
  1. Anyone can participate.
  2. You’re encouraged to take five new photos this week for the challenge. Creativity is also encouraged!
  3. If you get stumped, you may use one photo from your archive (although I’m not too strict about it – I do my best to take fresh shots).
  4. Link up here on Sunday (or Tuesday at the latest) – you can use the button above.
  5. Leave comments for at least five entries around yours (we have so many new participants each week, this is the only way I know to be inclusive).
  6. Have fun!
Without further discussion…here are my interpretations this week:

1. Yellow
Yellow Wall
I mentioned a few weeks ago that I would share the color of our nursery. I’m not sure that you can see it well in this photo, but we went with Benjamin Moore’s Popcorn Kernel yellow. I actually painted the entire downstairs of my townhouse (before I got married) this color…it makes me happy. I’m hoping that over the next week or so we’ll pull together the rest of the nursery. Of course, once it’s done, I’ll share a few photos.

2. Something that makes you smile
Spring Cookie RS
A couple of weeks ago, my friend Dina Lettre sent me a box of Cheryl’s spring cookies out of the blue. It makes me smile that I have made so many blog friends…it makes me smile even more when we can send each other little bits of happiness.

3. Ancient or Antique
Antique RS
I love antique furniture. I used to regularly go with my parents to auction houses to see what might turn up. The auctioneer would say things like “oh yeah, this is nice” – dragging out the niiiiiiiiiice. It made me laugh every time. My mom would inevitably find something that she had to take home with her…in particular, this beautiful antique crib. It’s about the size of a portable crib (sits low to the ground like a pack n’play) and will be perfect to keep downstairs once the baby arrives.

4. Splash
IMG_5201 RS-2
I was really hoping to capture something new for “splash,” but I failed. So, I went back into my archives and found this shot taken in July 2010. A few years ago, we had something called Raleigh Downtown Live. From food to music to the arts, it was a great time. On our way out, we saw these kids having a blast rolling around in the water…in these plastic balls. I made a note to myself to find one of these when our daughter is old enough to need to be worn out.

5. In the Sun
Spring has arrived RS
The other day, I was hoping that the sun would come out long enough for me to run home to take my 26 week maternity portrait. While I was home, I thought I’d take advantage of the beautiful light shining down on our new blooms.

So, what were your interpretations of the items this week (if you haven’t already linked up)? gBe sure to load your pictures on your blog (or your Flickr photostream) and link up at the bottom of this post. Feel free to grab a button to display on your blog along with your scavenger hunt items. The linky will be open until Tuesday night at midnight (EST). If you didn’t participate this week, but want to participate next week, here are your items (these can also be found at the bottom of my blog each week), sponsored by Kamana of Journaling through Photos:
  1. Shadow
  2. Keys
  3. Smile
  4. Unedited (SOOC)
  5. Fish
Again, thank you to Kamana for so many great scavenger hunt items. If you’d like to contribute items to the list, just send me an email with your suggestions (I can better keep track of them this way – and I appreciate all of you that have submitted lists already…my SHS file is quite happy). Each week, I will select one reader’s prompt list, add those items to what is currently on tap and give the selected reader a shout out on my blog during Scavenger Hunt Sunday. Happy Shooting!

You will be in my thoughts and prayers Ashley. I am so sorry.

I could spend all day in one of those water balls! That looks so fun, hope you are feeling better Ashley! Can’t wait for next Saturday!

Don’t think I would like those water balls very much. I am terribly afraid of water and being closed in.
What kind of flowers are those?

I love yellow walls! You’ll create a beautiful nursery! The flowers are beautiful!

Beautiful photos Ashley. Healing takes time. Thinking of you.

I love a yellow room too. My personality needs light and happy colors or I can easily go into a depression.

I love that yellow! I painted some of my walls Buttercream Yellow in my last home…always a happy color! Glad you were able to have some quiet time – I have been doing the same since Hubby’s heart attack this past week. Sometimes, it is vital to recharge our batteries!

You’ve taken wonderful pics, as always! The yellow one is my fav :)
    Have a nice Sunday!

What a lovely color! I love your heart shaped blooms too!

Beautiful set, Ashley. So glad you had some quiet time this week.

Beautiful work – those flowers are so pretty!

I’m a sucker for bleeding hearts. So delicate, and so perfect. I’m in love with what I can see of the baby crib. I have an antique wicker cradle I’m waiting to drag down from the attic once the weather cooperates and do a quick shoot of baby girl. Have a peaceful reflective week. Your gradmother is smiling down on you.

I just love the shot of the bleeding hearts. Very beautiful. I’ve never seen a ball like that, but I certainly could have used it to wear my son out when he was young.

Can’t wait to see more details of your baby’s nursery. Great set.

Although I missed the “hunt” this week, I’m glad you took respite, and by not doing it myself-it allowed me to think of you and to think about those that are dear to me. I’ll catch you next week.
My fave is that in the sun shot. Good luck with the nursery. Do it now before you get too uncomfortable to move around with ease.

So glad that you were able to spend some time just resting and reflecting this past week.

Your set was as always very nice.
Yellow – What a pretty color, very peaceful.
Something that makes you smile – It is great to have wonderful friends and that cookie looks delicious.
Ancient – How cool to have an Antique Cradle for your new baby.

    My 2 Favorites:
Splash – Those balls look like Fun!
In The Sun – Dreamy and Beautiful, one of my favorite flowers.

So glad you enjoyed the cookies! They are a fave in this house. :)

And, that bleeding hearts shot is gorgeous, my friend.

Thanks for hosting another great link up! I love the yellow shade for your nursery.

That sun shot is so pretty! And boy does that cookie look yummy!

    Thanks for hosting Ashley!

The ‘In the sun’ shot is lovely – and what a gorgeous colour of paint. So cheery.

Great color choice. We have a very similar color in our living room/dining room/kitchen. I always get compliments on how cozy it makes the rooms feel.

    Fun splash shot.

    I’m still thinking for you.
Your photos are perfect ! The splash and the biscuit are really funny :D

Hope you are doing ok, it’s hard loosing someone you love. Lots of hugs. Love your photos.

Ashley, so sorry to hear about your grandmother passing. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

Ohmigosh, I LOVE Cheryl’s cookies! They are just delicious.

I’m glad to see you back although I’m sure the break was much needed. I will continue to keep you and your family in my prayers.

Love your set this week. I think splash is my favorite, but I keep asking myself how they can breathe in those balls. I would be freaking out in there. :)

Oh I’m glad you’re back, Ashley!

I like the subtle yellow and antique board in baby Sisk room. This early I can say she is going to be loved and praised and filled with special things and memories!

    Have a happy week, A!

Wonderful set Ashley, I love the colour for your nursery and the antique crib is gorgeous! The Bleeding Hearts are so beautiful!

So glad you’re back! I could just eat that cookie right up.

That antique crib is just beautiful! Baby girl is going to love taking naps in it. :D

Sorry for your loss Ashley *hug*
Love the nursery colour and especially love the Bleeding Hearts shot…I still have quite a while to wait for mine to bloom!

That room color is so pretty, can’t wait to see what you do with it! Cheryl’s cookies are yummy, aren’t they? That crib is gorgeous and so elegant!!!!
Your bleeding heart(s) are blooming already? How nice!!!

great set! I really love your “in the sun” shot!

    splash is fantastic!!
