Scavenger Hunt Sunday
I don’t think I have to tell you how quickly this month…year is flying by, but let’s be honest, time is flying. Hard to believe that in two and a half months, I’ll be having a baby. Part of me is convinced that these months will also fly by, but our North Carolina humidity is already settling in. It’s going to be hot!
But enough of that, let’s get back to the Scavenger Hunt. If you’ve participated in the Scavenger Hunt in the past, I hope this week’s items inspired you. If you’re new to the Scavenger Hunt…WELCOME! Next week’s items are sponsored by Catherine at No Wooden Spoons.
Scavenger Hunt Sunday
The rules are simple:
  1. Anyone can participate.
  2. You’re encouraged to take five new photos this week for the challenge. Creativity is also encouraged!
  3. If you get stumped, you may use one photo from your archive (although I’m not too strict about it – I do my best to take fresh shots).
  4. Link up here on Sunday (or Tuesday at the latest) – you can use the button above.
  5. Leave comments for at least five entries around yours (we have so many new participants each week, this is the only way I know to be inclusive).
  6. Have fun!
Without further discussion…here are my interpretations this week:

1. Rainbow
Rainbows RS
I could have dived into my archives for an actual “rainbow” – maybe one with a leprechaun on one end, but I decided to take an alternate route. Here I’m wearing my favorite pair of flip flops…RAINBOWS! And that green thing…that’s my belly.

2. Fluffy
Fluffy Clouds RS
What’s fluffier than clouds? Granted, these clouds have a hint of rain in them, but they are definitely fluffy.

3. Letters
Mailboxes RS
This is probably my least favorite photo this week. I’m not quite ready to release our baby girl’s name so I don’t have those “letters,” but I do know that when a “letter” arrives in the mail…it is typically placed in a mailbox. Right?

4. Metal
Metal - Trashcans RS
During my scavenger hunt walk on Thursday afternoon, I noticed a strange eye drawn on the side of a metal dumpster. I took a completely different shot earlier in the day, but I’m drawn to this bit of weirdness.

5. Tree(s)
Squirrel on a Tree RS
I’ve been trying to capture the squirrels in our office parking lot for a long time. While I was walking around the other day, this squirrel posed for me on a tree. I was a little surprised that he didn’t run away when I moved in closer.

So, what were your interpretations of the items this week? Be sure to load your pictures on your blog (or your Flickr photostream) and link up at the bottom of this post. Feel free to grab a button to display on your blog along with your scavenger hunt items. The linky will be open until Tuesday night at midnight (EST). If you didn’t participate this week, but want to participate next week, here are your items (these can also be found at the bottom of my blog each week), sponsored by Catherine at No Wooden Spoons:
  1. Beneath Your Feet
  2. Capturing Movement
  3. Texture
  4. Face Your Fears
  5. Currently
Again, thank you to Catherinefor so many great scavenger hunt items. If you’d like to contribute items to the list, just send me an email with your suggestions (I can better keep track of them this way – and I appreciate all of you that have submitted lists already…my SHS file is quite happy). Each week, I will select one reader’s prompt list, add those items to what is currently on tap and give the selected reader a shout out on my blog during Scavenger Hunt Sunday. Happy Shooting!
PS: I’m attending a wedding today so I’ll plan to visit your blogs either tonight or tomorrow. Enjoy your Sunday.

Oh my goodness! I have tons of pictures of squirrels. They were my photographing subjects for a long time!

Lovely shots! The squirrel photo is so sweet…and I also am fascinated by weird discoveries, so I’m intrigued by your metal shot…

Have super fun at the wedding today-hoping for lots of comfy seating options on your behalf.
Love that squirrel catch-they can be kind of bold I guess. Glad to see you with that dumpster shot (and the eye). I have a good deozen or so dumpsters in the archives….you’ve made me feel more sane.
    Have a great day Ashley.

I agree with you “weirdness” on the dumpster….actually it’s quite curious!

Your metal photo is intriguing! I just want to know the meaning behind the graffiti…..interesting.

Hi hi!! I’m super stoked to be joining SHS for the first time!

Hi hi!! I’m super stoked to be joining SHS for the first time!

Look at you with the rainbow shot – so cute. Great series.

Love that first shot, Ashley! And great capture with the tree :)

Great collection Ashley — nice to visit here again. :)

Hmmm- loving those flip flops. I have a slight addiction to them- I’m thinking I may need to add those to the bunch.

Such a cute squirrel! Wonder if anyone thought you were a tourist, taking photos of the squirrels in the partk. It reminds me of when I was working in Toronto one summer, we always got a chuckle out of the Asian tourists taking pictures of the black squirrels there :)

Love the baby bump to go along with the rainbow! And your mailbox shot really nice…shades of gray.

Love that tree shot! The texture, colors, and all are so pretty. Have a lovely week.

    Great set as always.
My favorite shot happens to be the Letters – I like the b/w composition of the photo a lot.
Also loved the Tree, cute little squirrel.
    Hope the wedding was awesome.

Great photos this week. I love how you represented tree, without going with the obvious.

I love your squirrel capture! Have fun at the wedding.

    Hi Ashley,
Great snapshots! Love your sandals. Have a great day!

    Food for Thought

Wonderful set of photos, love your shot of the squirrel. :)

Love that squirrel shot!!!! Super cute!

I really enjoy fluffy, metal and the tree photo … oh my, it’s so sweet, and also incredible, how could you approach this lovely squirrel ? Have a good evening :)

    love the set!

Great selections. One of the things I enjoy about the SSH is how everyones interpretation of prompts can be so different. I love when I have that…I didn’t think of that moment (which would apply to your fluffy).
Thanks for having such a great meme.

Beautiful shots – I think Tree is my favorite!

Love your squirrel shot! So cool. Glad he posed for you.

The fluffy clouds are great too.

Your letters are genius! Great idea!

Clever rainbow! Also loved are right! That eye is intriguing! Thanks for the opportunity to post each week, Ashley!

Wonderful pictures as always. Your metal shot is great. Love the rainbow shot. I had a pair of rainbows on when I saw your post!

Love your set! At least you can still see your toes over your belly! :) Love the eyeball drawn on the dumpster and the photo of the squirrel. Have a great week!

I absolutely LOVE your tree picture. I’m forever trying to take pictures of the squirrels around our apartment…However, I’m usually with the dog and she scares them off :)

I love your squirrel shot. I barely have a chance to get closer to them, they are just too fast. Have a great week!

Love the shot of the squirrel! We don’t have squirrels where I’m from so I always get super excited to see the pesky little things, even though my European friends are not nearly as keen! xxx

Creative shots Ashley! Love the clouds and letter boxes. Hope it’s a mild summer for you! I had two August babies so I know the heat can be miserable when you’re in your 9th month. Hang in there and eat lots of ice cream ;)

This project is changing the way I look at the world! Thanks!

I love the one with your cute baby bump!

Love your photos this week. So wonderful. That last one is great.

Love the Tree shot… I tried to capture a squirrel but my snap and shoot just didn’t cut it! =( =) and the letter box shot was really fun too! =)

I really like your metal interpretation, Ashley! I like how you found something cool and fun on an object that normally has sort of stinky associations :)

That squirrel on the tree just makes me laugh! Love it. And pretty clever with the rainbow shot, too.
