You may have already seen these photos on Casey’s facebook page (if you follow her), but I also thought I’d share them here…in addition to my weekly bump report. So without further ado, let’s see what’s going on in my belly.
How far along: 32 weeks (technically, 32 weeks and 3 days today).
How big is the baby: Our baby weighs approximately 3.75 pounds and is about 16.7 inches long, taking up a lot of space in my uterus. At this point, roughly half of my weight gain goes right to our baby. In fact, she’ll gain a third to half of her birth weight during the next seven weeks as she fattens up for “survival” outside the womb. I’d love to know how much she’ll actually be at birth – part of me thinks that she’ll be a big baby like me (I was 9 lbs 3 ozs), while the other part of me secretly hopes for a birth weight closer to my husband (something like 6 lbs). Either way, she is GROWING!
Total weight gain: I’ve been so tired and sore lately that I wasn’t sure that I’d get in the gym to weigh myself…she’s clearly been growing a lot which means she’s rolling, kicking and moving her head around all day long. However, I did manage to make it on Thursday for a proper weigh in. Since last week, I’ve probably gained another 1.5 lbs for a total of 19 lbs since the start of my pregnancy.
Sleep: Not the easiest these days. Kitty Paw still wants to sleep on top of me and I’ve been tossing and turning a lot the past few nights. Each time I need to roll over, it’s an event. Oh…and getting out of bed – geez!
Maternity Clothes: You mean the tents I’m wearing? Just kidding. Actually, I was in Stein Mart the other day when a random woman stopped to ask me when I was due (for the record, these conversations feel incredibly awkward to me). I responded “August 1,” to which she said “you think you’ll go that long?” I must have given her a look because she recovered with, “and what are you having?” “A girl.” “Oh, how wonderful…congratulations.” I know she meant well, but was she really suggesting that I’m so big that I can’t go full term?
So…I asked a couple of trusty co-workers – one male, one female. My male coworker and his wife just had their 3rd child – we’ve been sharing pregnancy stories for months so I felt like he could give me an honest answer. He told me that I was hardly “big,” but that I was bigger than I was a week or two ago. Alright…I guess that’s fair. So, I then went over and asked my female coworker…a mom to two girls. She told me that a lot of people aren’t used to the modern pregnant lady who feels comfortable wearing fitted clothing (aka ME). Women used to cover up their bellies by wearing flowy tops or dresses. As a result, you never really knew how pregnant they were because it was hidden. Me on the other hand, I proudly show off my belly, so there’s no illusion.
I still think the comment was a bit rude, but I guess I’m now at a point where I’ll starting getting these types of comments more and more. More the reason for me to keep looking cute in my maternity clothes.
Best moments of the week: Definitely meeting up with Casey for maternity photos – even my husband was there. Since then, I have been completely exhausted.

Food cravings: Nothing really, although I kind of want pancakes right now.
Food aversions: Nothing new.
Symptoms (another repeat from last week):
- Circulation issues…check.
- Heartburn…check.
- Flat belly button…check.
- Lower back pain (on and off all day)…check.
- Veins…check.
- Increased butt size (this makes me cry and laugh at the same time)…check.
- Braxton Hicks contractions…check.
- Exhaustion…check.

Exercise: Limited, but still going. I really thought I could work out all the way through my pregnancy, but I hardly have the energy for it…at least this week.
Movement: I think I read that I’m in the peak week for movement…and that from this point forward, she’ll be moving less and less. With that in mind, she is really trying to take advantage of any room she has left right now to kick and squirm.
Gender: STILL Girl!
What I’m looking forward to: our Baby-Q tomorrow afternoon. It’s going to be epic!
What I miss: Still missing my energy – please please come back soon.
Next Appointment: June 15th.Thanks again Casey for taking such beautiful photographs of me and my baby daddy. Now I just need to have these (and Sarah’s photos from a couple of weeks ago) printed.
