Scavenger Hunt Sunday
Happy Father’s Day! I hope everyone plans on doing something with the “fathers” in their lives today. I gave my husband an “expecting” father’s day gift yesterday since he was planning on visiting his dad today. What did I give him? A Diaper Dude! Now he’s all ready to take our little girl out into the world on his own…without having to carry around my Kalencom yellow harlequin bag. I don’t know how fired up any guy can get over a diaper bag…so I also included a couple of vintage tees. Either way, he loved it!

On another note, last week I asked if anyone was interested in helping me with Scavenger Hunt Sunday while I took blog maternity leave. Amazingly enough, a number of you are interested. Although, I have yet to respond to all of the emails – I did receive them so give me another week or so to sort through the offers.

With that said, let’s get back to the Scavenger Hunt. If you’ve participated in the Scavenger Hunt in the past, I hope this week’s items inspired you. If you’re new to the Scavenger Hunt…WELCOME! Next week’s items are sponsored by Dawn of Dschondog’s Blog.
Scavenger Hunt Sunday
The rules are simple:
  1. Anyone can participate.
  2. You’re encouraged to take five new photos this week for the challenge. Creativity is also encouraged!
  3. If you get stumped, you may use one photo from your archive (although I’m not too strict about it – I do my best to take fresh shots).
  4. Link up here on Sunday (or Tuesday at the latest) – you can use the button above.
  5. Leave comments for at least five entries around yours (we have so many new participants each week, this is the only way I know to be inclusive).
  6. Have fun!
Without further discussion…here are my interpretations this week:

1. Meet Me at the Corner
Meet Me at the Corner
I’m pretty sure I could have been more creative with this prompt – this is obviously the intersection of two streets.

2. Mother Nature Meets Technology
Mother Nature Meets Technology
I wasn’t quite sure what to do with this prompt. However, I do find that I go to the weather.com app on my iphone each morning to check the weather. That counts right? Luckily, we’re experiencing a mild summer so far. Unfortunately, I will only have this iphone for a couple more weeks. My last day working full time is June 29th and I cannot take my phone with me. I may or may not buy another iphone. And the only reason I say that is because I’m not an “apple” person, but I am a Google person so the Droid Razor Maxx may be a more appropriate fit. As long as I can still access email, the internet, Facebook and Instagram, I’m not sure it really matters to me. We’ll see.

3. One Step at a Time
One Step at a Time
My friend, Larissa, sent me these little shoes a few weeks ago as part of an awesome baby gift. It won’t be too long before we’re watching our little girl take her first steps. Until then, it’s all I can do to walk up and down our stairs right now. The closer I get to my due date, the more I try to limit my trips up or down.

4. What’s Wrong with this Picture
What's Wrong with this Picture
I was returning something to Target and decided to pick up a couple of things that were on my registry. A few days later, I found the receipt in my pocketbook. I immediately started laughing and walked over to my coworker’s desk. She encouraged me to post to Facebook. At the time I thought no way – but here I am posting it on my blog. You just can’t remove some levels of immaturity.

5. Standing Tall
IMG_7272 RS
I saw this picture of my husband and had to laugh. Granted, he’s not “standing tall.” In fact, he looks like he’s stunned – almost as if he’s thinking “what are we going to do with all this stuff?” However, I know that when our little girl is born, he’s going to stand tall as a proud daddy.

So, what were your interpretations of the items this week? Be sure to load your pictures on your blog (or your Flickr photostream) and link up at the bottom of this post. Feel free to grab a button to display on your blog along with your scavenger hunt items. The linky will be open until Tuesday night at midnight (EST). If you didn’t participate this week, but want to participate next week, here are your items (these can also be found at the bottom of my blog each week), sponsored by Dawn of Dschondog’s Blog:
  1. Warped
  2. Concentric Circles
  3. Gear
  4. Glazed
  5. Marble
Again, thank you to Dawn for so many great scavenger hunt items (even if I’m crazy intimidated by them). If you’d like to contribute items to the list, just send me an email with your suggestions (I can better keep track of them this way – and I appreciate all of you that have submitted lists already…my SHS file is quite happy). Each week, I will select one reader’s prompt list, add those items to what is currently on tap and give the selected reader a shout out on my blog during Scavenger Hunt Sunday. Happy Shooting!

    Still lovin’ all the pink!

Well nipples made me giggle too. One can never be too old to laugh at silly. Great shots.

Haha! Your “what’s wrong with this picture” got me laughing.

I like your Nature Meets Technology. I think I went the opposite direction from you on that one, but that’s why we get to interpret the prompt the way we want to, right?

Love your first shot! And your receipt-hehe! :)

Okay, I was trying to figure out if there was a math error. I skipped right over the nipple part!!!

Love your shots this week. I can’t belive you are getting so close now!!!

The receipt made me laugh, and I love those little pink shoes on the stairs.

The picture on your husbands face is priceless!!!!!

Well I for sure did a double take when I looked at your receipt! Love the little pink shoes.

Bahahaaa…. love me some Target! Awwww… the little pink shoes on the stairs make my heart happy. xo

Haha – that receipt cracked me up! :-)

These are great interpretations of some tough prompts! Love the little shoes on the stairs!

    Dear Ashley,

I LOVED the weather on the iphone…so creative and the “stunned” husband was just way too real! I think that is why men did not go to baby showers in my day.

Thanks for choosing my list for next week. You are always such a fabulous host.

As a maternity nurse, I LOVED the receipt. I really think every pharmacy needs a niche! Ha!

Great shots…I love the look on your husband’s face!

Love your receipt! I guess you really CAN buy anything you need at Target! Your husband’s face is perfect….and those adorable little shoes on the steps…..awwww.

I’m loving all of your images…the pink shoes are so precious. And yes, I giggled at your Target receipt! :D

I really like your “one step at a time.” Creative! That Target receipt is funny!

These are great! Love “what’s wrong with this picture”. Haha!

These are awesome! I have to admit- I was so stumped on these prompts that I did not participate this week. Now that I see yours- I’m bonking myself on the head, but you know how it goes some times. As for the phone- I just traded my touch screen BlackBerry that I had for years for the Droid Razr in white. Took some getting used to because it’s completely different- but I do love all it does & how quickly it does it.

I was stumped this week too – but couldn’t let a challenge pass me up!
I giggled at your receipt too – you can tell I work with high schoolers all week. :)

That pic of your husband is funny. I think he’s thinking “holy crap!” Lots of pressure for new Dads too.
Sweet little feet on the steps, and your sales slip-now that’s funny.

    Great set.
Those pink shoes sitting on the stairs really caught my eye this week.
Oh and the “Nipple” receipt was pretty funny too.

I had a similar idea for technology! And what I thought was wrong with the receipt was the sales tax! California’s is much higher! Lol

    Hi Ashley,
Great snapshots! Your hubby looks flabbergasted. Have a great day!

    Food for Thought

Great interpretations! My fave is one step at the time :)

Nice job with some pretty tough prompts! I am not an Apple user either and I have to tell you that I love my Droid.

Love the last shot just the look on his face is Priceless!!

    Love those baby shoes! :)

    Love those baby shoes! :)

I wonder if your husband is thinking, “Wow. That’s a lot of pink stuff.” Maybe it’s because we had two boys first, but when our little girl came along, I kept hearing my husband say those words! LOL

I love the little pink shoes on the stairs. :)

Nipples… teeheeeheee. I have three kids, and have bought plenty of them, and that STILL makes me laugh. FAB photos as always :-)

All the photos are great but I couldn’t stop laughing when I read the receipt! Honestly you’d think there would have been a different way of putting it on the receipt!

Love these photos. So funny about the receipt.

    **Technology Meets Mother Nature**

The Target receipt totally made me giggle! I love all of pink, but the corner shot is definitely my favorite!

Great set, especially for such challenging prompts. Standing tall is my favorite, he does look rather scared.
