Scavenger Hunt Sunday
The weeks keep flying by, don’t they? I used to prepare for the Scavenger Hunt several days in advance. These days, I find that I’m doing good if this post is done by Saturday at 7 pm…and for what it’s worth, as I’m writing this, it is 6:50 pm – so there!

Today (Sunday), we’re having a Baby-Q. For those of you that are giving me the side-eye right now, it’s really just one big party with the focus being on the upcoming arrival of our little girl…all of our friends invited – male and female. I’m hoping everyone has a good time. I’ll be sure to take pictures so I’ll let you know how it goes next weekend.

On another note, I’m starting to plan ahead for my “maternity leave.” While I currently don’t make any money blogging, I still devote a large portion of time to it…in particular, Scavenger Hunt Sunday. As much as I’d love to believe that I can keep up this pace through labor and delivery…and then recovering in the weeks after, I think I need help. If you’re interested in hosting the Scavenger Hunt, please let me know so we can discuss how it’ll be done while I still have my wits to me. I’m thinking your first “host date” would be July 29th, but we can talk more about that. Either way, email me!

With that said, let’s get back to the Scavenger Hunt. If you’ve participated in the Scavenger Hunt in the past, I hope this week’s items inspired you. If you’re new to the Scavenger Hunt…WELCOME! Next week’s items are sponsored by Kay Rhodes
Scavenger Hunt Sunday
The rules are simple:
  1. Anyone can participate.
  2. You’re encouraged to take five new photos this week for the challenge. Creativity is also encouraged!
  3. If you get stumped, you may use one photo from your archive (although I’m not too strict about it – I do my best to take fresh shots).
  4. Link up here on Sunday (or Tuesday at the latest) – you can use the button above.
  5. Leave comments for at least five entries around yours (we have so many new participants each week, this is the only way I know to be inclusive).
  6. Have fun!
Without further discussion…here are my interpretations this week:

1. Travel
Fasten Seatbelt RS
It should come as no surprise to you that I haven’t traveled much of anywhere beyond work since late January when I was still traveling as part of my job. I almost just pulled out one of my Europe photos and called it a day. Actually, I did just that, but I edited a photo that I don’t think I ever edited before (and I may have…just didn’t pay attention). This was taken on the plane ride back from London BEFORE I spilled an entire can of coke on myself. To make matters worse, I did that at the beginning of our flight and had to sit in it for 7 hours. My pants were still wet when we landed.

2. Silly
IMG_6412 RS
Another thing I haven’t done enough of…being silly. However, I know this kid named Dustyn (Sarah Halstead’s oldest son) who is ubber silly.

3. Black and White
Lil Black and White Kitty RS
Black and white kitty cat processed in black and white? Kitty Paw has been exploring new sleeping spots lately – here I found her under our guest bed. I guess she likes it because the sun was pouring in but she was hidden from us…which of course means peace and quiet. I later found her in my closet on a stack of clothes. When I started blow drying my hair she got up and pranced off as if I had disturbed her.

4. Spots
Dots RS
All week, I thought I had to photograph “dots,” but I guess spots is much the same. I have polka dots all over my house – I’m kind of a fan of them. However, I thought this one little dish was kinda cute – and this one “dot” is covered in “dots.”

5. Paper
Paper Ultrasound RS
I’ve got three columns of paper on my refrigerator right now…or rather, three columns of ultrasound photos: 12 weeks, 18 weeks and 30 weeks. Here are my 30 week ultrasound photos (I shared a few of them in a recent bump report) in our little girl’s nursery. This is just a taste of more photos to come. I’m actually still waiting on one final piece to come in before I give you the full tour.

So, what were your interpretations of the items this week? Be sure to load your pictures on your blog (or your Flickr photostream) and link up at the bottom of this post. Feel free to grab a button to display on your blog along with your scavenger hunt items. The linky will be open until Tuesday night at midnight (EST). If you didn’t participate this week, but want to participate next week, here are your items (these can also be found at the bottom of my blog each week), sponsored by  Kay Rhodes:
  1. Meet Me at the Corner
  2. Mother Nature Meets Technology
  3. One Step at a Time
  4. What’s Wrong with this Picture?
  5. Standing Tall
Again, thank you to Kay for so many great scavenger hunt items (even if I’m crazy intimidated by them). If you’d like to contribute items to the list, just send me an email with your suggestions (I can better keep track of them this way – and I appreciate all of you that have submitted lists already…my SHS file is quite happy). Each week, I will select one reader’s prompt list, add those items to what is currently on tap and give the selected reader a shout out on my blog during Scavenger Hunt Sunday. Happy Shooting!

Love the B & W kitty shot and am so looking forward to the nursery tour.

what a great set again :)

Great set! I love the first one. Why would you fasten your seat belt while doing anything other than sitting? :)

Such a cute silly picture and I want that dish! :)

That last one is definitely my favorite!

See, they say Coke is not good for you :) Love your photos, I edited an old point and shoot photo and called it a day too. Why travel, when you have everything right at home…

Love that silly little boy! So cute and such a great shot! Cool prompts for next week!

Always a pleasure to pop in to see your photo’s.
Silly – Way to cute and yes, very silly.
B/W – Oh you know I can’t resist a great kitty photo. Kitty Paw is just adorable.

Love the antique crib, and the bumpers are gorgeous! Can’t wait to see the rest!! Nice series.

Love your shots this week, and I really love next week’s prompts!

Hi!! I can’t wait to see your little one! I’m sure she will be adorable!! I love the silly photo and paper is priceless! I loved getting my ultrasound photos! Have a great Sunday!

Beautiful photos! Love the ultrasound photos.

LOVE your paper, AND totally LOVING the little glimpse of the crib bedding in the background! SO unique & beautiful! Dustin is a very silly cutie pie!

I always love your interpretations! One day I may manage to play along…just have too many irons in the fire now! Have a great day!

I love the black and white of Kitty Paw and that paper shot is just so exciting!

Love these! The travel pic is great, the soggy pants, not so much! Love the nursery sneak peak, too!

Baby-Q sounds so cute. As always, excellent group. Look at all that personality in your baby girl already — yea, you’ll probably have your hands full. :)

Aww, what sweet photos…the paper one is wonderful! I also love your black and white kitty shot. Lovely!

    Great set, love your paper…
    Have a nice week ;))

I love your travel shot. Your nursery looks so cute I can’t wait to see it all together. Good luck finding a host for SHS. I’d love to do it, but I am sure I wouldn’t pass the qualifications. Enjoy this time with your husband and take it easy before you know it your world will be turned upside down (but in a good way) :)

I love your dots – such a happy little dish!
The thought of 7 hours in soggy pants is not appealing at all!

I’m with you on the polkadots I have a bunch around my house I love them. I’m also jealous that you got a 30 week ultrasound. We won’t get to see our little man again until he is born, unless I go somewhere and pay for an elective scan.

    Love the photo of Dustyn!

I’d be interested in hosting-such fun!

Oh that last one- so sweet!!!

OK, here’s the deal, Kitty Paw is already “in the know” and she’s seeking out new places to hide when you know who arrives. My cat too goes between the stacks of clothes-and thank you, I’m already covered in cat hair before I’m even fully dressed.
sorry about that plane ride but I love the shot, and cool pic of your precious papers. You are one stylin’ girl in the maternity clothes.

Baby-Q! That made me laugh! Love the shot of you holding your little girl’s pictures. Precious!

Awwww…. Such a cute paper shot!! And nice find for travel. Love it!

your interpretations are always so fun, they are each my favorite for different reasons!!

and next week…i’m shaking in my flip flops, i better get busy, starting today!!

After reading your last report I see why kitty paw is exhausted in your b&w shot. So I’ll pray for more sleep for both of you! xo… Great shot. Also I adore your paper picture. So sweet. I still have mine but they are in a memory box.

    Alita

    Fabulous photos!

I really like your travel picture. There is just something about it!

I would offer to host, but being due in September (really anywhere from the middle of August on wards) I am probably not reliable :)

Your photographs are beautiful! Especially paper! Melts my heart. And I am super intimidated by next weeks prompts! Should be interesting!

Sitting in Coke for 7 hours, ugh!! Sweet shots this week.

    Hi Ashley,
Great snapshots! Love the paper shot, she’s beautiful! Have a great day!

    Food for Thought

Such cute shots, especially the last one! 30 weeks already? So exciting! Love the ultrasound shots, so amazing to see so much detail.

Those ultrasound photos are amazing, Ashely!
    Your interpretations are quite fun!

    Dear Ashley,

I just want to say that I appreciate your hostessing more than you can ever imagine. In this forum I meet so many wonderful people. That really is a blessing to me. Beyond that, however, I like that you are so punctual with getting the site up and running every week. I belong to other sites that are “loosy-goosy”, hit or miss and that drives me crazy. I keep looking for the site to open and sometimes it never does.

You are always up and running when I go to post Sunday morning. Bless you as you plod along this third trimester of your pregnancy. I remember it well as my first baby came in August.

    You are loved,
    Dawn

is that your nursery? have it all ready now? Good for you! Count down begins! If you are looking for someone to help with SHS – I’m all in for helping you out!

Beautiful Ashley! I absolutely adore your paper shot ;)

oh my goodness Ashley! they are just adorable pics! :) LOVE LOVE LOVE the last one with your PAPER sooooo creative and CUTE!

Great photographs especially the last one.

Cute pictures!! Love your ultrasound photo! So special!

Cute pictures!! Love your ultrasound photo! So special!

Love your entries, especially the Travel one and the Cat. Got a chuckle about the cat leaving when you dried your hair. Just like a cat.

Another great set!! I love the
paper image! Can’t wait to see this little one in that beautiful crib!!

Love these. Dustyn sure is silly. Can’t wait to see the rest of the nursery!! So exciting.

I always look forward to the hunt, it’s fun.
Dishes are a weakness of mine, ‘dots’ is cute

Ooh, lovely colors in that shot of Dustyn!

LOVE that B&W…and the nursery looks adorable!

LOVE, LOVE the airplane shot! Can’t wait for your baby to arrive and we get to see all the baby photos you take!

I love your plane shot. I’m sorry about spilling coke on your clothes, that is terrible! The pictures of your daughter are beautiful!

I’m so excited to be back in the hunt after a long absence! Your photos are so inspiring, and I am definitely feeling more creative after posting :)

Hi Ashley, sorry to hear you are so tired on yesterday’s post but loving the hunt today, especially Dustyn and baby’s paper pics.

    Take care. x

Hi Ashley… I’ve collected the prompts for 3 weeks … but haven’t managed a blog post til now! yikes! Your nursery sneak peek is so precious! can’t wait to see it! and love the spot shot! =) it is crazy how fast time has gone … so happy for you… can’t wait til the last weeks fly by and we get to “meet” your little girl! =)

Love your nursery! So cute! (And you look so skinny! How is that still possible!?!) Hope you had a great Baby-Q. :-)

I can’t decide which on i like the best…I am going to have to go with silly…that kid is just too cute…

Who knew a photo inside of a plane could look so good! And, as always, I love the baby photo pics too.

Great shots as always! I’m LOVING the nursery shots so far!! Love the lion on the bumper :-)

And, you’re still more organized than me. When I did SHS, I was usually shooting the pictures for it on Sunday morning :-)

love the bumper pad on the crib – adorable. We’re sticking to wall art with this next one and will likely have the siblings design something special for him/her to feature in the room.
