Felicity: 3 Weeks Old
It’s hard to believe that Felicity is already three weeks old…especially considering that she isn’t supposed to be here just yet. Today, we’re heading back to our pediatrician for a weight check and lactation consult. We’re hopeful that Felicity has finally reached her birth weight and that we can continue moving forward with exclusive breast feeding. Keep us in your thoughts and prayers if you would.

Earlier this week, I met up with Sarah Halstead to take a few newborn photos of my baby girl. Sarah posted some of her favorite images from our session the other day. In case you missed it, click HERE (please do – she did a beautiful job).

Interestingly enough, even though my sweet little girl spends 90% of her day sleeping…the moment my camera came out, Felicity decided it was time to wake up and scream.

Needless to say, I learned a few more lessons about newborn photography. Lesson #1: just because you are a photographer (and have photographed other babies before) does not mean that you are immune to your baby crying when you want to photograph them being sweet and cuddly.

I also learned that no matter how hot you think it is…and no matter how milk drunk you thought your baby was…it’s probably not enough.

However, I’m pretty sure that a baby with an upset stomach is going to be hard to settle down for photos even if everything else is just right. My sweet little girl has a bad case of gas which seems to be settled only by laying on my chest (as she’s doing right now). Sweet…yes, but also very difficult to photograph at the same time. Lesson learned…hire a professional even if you are a professional – sometimes, it’s best to be JUST mom.

Nonetheless, we captured some sweet moments and I’ll share even more of those moments on Sunday during the Scavenger Hunt.

On another note, my husband and I have been working on a website redesign for most of the year – obviously, we haven’t worked on it with any sense of urgency. We’re finally ready to go LIVE with www.ashleysisk.com which means a couple of things.
  1. If you follow Ramblings and Photos via RSS feed, you’re all set.
  2. If you’ve been following me via Google Friend Connect, you will need to subscribe to my RSS feed in order to continue following me.
Our plan is to go live by next weekend so I’ll continue to send out reminders but I wanted to give you a heads up. Let me know if you have any questions. Otherwise, have a great weekend. I’m planning to share photos of Felicity’s nursery tomorrow.

Those little hands and feet!! :D Almost makes me want one more. ;)

And I love the second last one. She has so much hair! So fun.

Will pray she’s gaining weight well. ♥

    She sure is cute!!!! Congratulations!

My goodness she is cute! And ahhh! I still can’t believe you named her Felicity!! That was my favorite TV show when I was a teenager. Did you ever see it?! Ha ha.
Oh and Easton had bad gas as well but he has grown out of it (mostly!). It will pass, I promise!

So sweet! I love her little toes!

How do I follow you via RSS Feed?

Awww, she’s so beautiful. Love that one of her cutie little baby feet. Adorable. X

She is so very sweet and precious.

    Beautiful baby girl.. how nice
to have such photos because they
grow so fast.. love her name!
    Enjoy every moment.
    Blessings to your sweet family.

She is so sweet! Just beautiful – love the hands and feet! Enjoy every minute of her – she will grow up way too quickly!

She is beautiful. :) Just like her parents.

I may have just ovulated! ;)

Love the pictures and the ones Sarah posted too. She is so precious!

She’s so precious! I’ll have to head over to Sarah’s now to see the rest of the photos.

Beautiful! Congratulations, Ashley! I haven’t been by here in awhile, and I guess I missed a lot! I’m wishing you all the best!

PS: These photos make me wish for a 3rd!

She is just so beautiful and sweet and perfect!! Hope she’s up to her birth weight. Good job nursing, mama :)

Both you and Sarah captured some great shots.

I give you a lot of props for hanging in there with breast feeding. I had quite a lot of difficulty nursing my first born but worked through it and ended up nursing her for 18 months (only once a day after 12 months). :)

So hang in there…..you are heading in the right direction.

    Well, Congratulations!!!!
    What a Gorgeous Baby!!

She’s super precious. I love her hair!!

She is so beautiful! We’ve already planned and hired someone to take Jonah’s newborn photos. I’m sure that I’ll snap some candid shots on my own when the time comes, but I’d rather not have to worry about getting those first photos. :) She is such a cutie!

I’m so far behind on your blog. Congratulations on your new joy. I pray she grow quickly and that God will keep his hand on her and your family. God bless.

    What a doll!

Congrats Ashley! She is absolutely beautiful! I know you are one proud mommy. Enjoy every minute because time flies!

I know you are smitten! Can’t wait to see more and more pictures of this little beauty!

Oh my…such precious shots, both yours and Sarah’s! Felicity is a sweetheart…thank you for sharing! :)

What precious moments to capture……..enjoy them all as they grow up so quickly. Keeping little Felicity in my prayers.

Those pictures are gorgeous! I need to break out my camera this weekend but things have been CRAZY. I’m proud of you for getting all of these- they’re gorgeous.

Sweet photos. :) Can’t wait to see your redesign. Glad we got a few photos.

Oh those sweet little hands and feet! Felicity is so cute, and you’re right; sometimes it IS better to just let another professional take your picture and you just play the part of Mom instead. Even as Georgia reaches almost 4 years old, I still love when my BFF Hannah does our family portraits for us (instead of the tripod). They just come out better and with so much less stress from me.

These are absolutely outstanding! And congrats on 3 weeks – hope you reached the birth weight.

She is just beautiful! I love her facial expressions, and you have such beautiful lighting! Thanks for sharing these with us!!

I still think you got some sweet shots and all too often it is difficult to get such nice shots with their eyes open, so way to go.

The gas will pass, but I know it can be tough. I remember how bad it was for Bennett.

YAY for going live with the new site.
