Scavenger Hunt Sunday
Scavenger Hunt Sunday
First and foremost…guess who is one month old today? Felicity! Hard to believe that just a month ago, our little bundle of joy made her appearance. And in just a couple of days, she’ll reach her estimated due date (and my mom’s/her grandmother’s birthday). To commemorate her one month birthday, I met up with Melissa Berg a few days ago for some classic newborn photos. In case you missed them on Facebook, click HERE. Adorable…right? Now it’s my turn to take a one month photo for the scrapbook (ha ha, I’m not even a scrapbooker, but it seems like the right thing to do). Let’s hope that Felicity will behave for me…just for five minutes. I don’t ask for much, but like Melissa told me on Thursday – I’ve got “mom scent” working against me.

On another note, I must apologize to all my scavenger hunters – I did not make my usual blog visits this week. Time just kept getting away from me. For those of you with children, I’m sure you understand. Felicity has gone through a couple of little growth spurts the past couple of weeks. Considering that I am exclusively breast feeding now, that means I run a 24/7 milk bar. I haven’t quite managed to nurse and blog at the same time, but each day I learn new tricks that will bring me back to a sense of normalcy. Heck, today (Saturday as I’m writing this), I finally managed to work in a trip to the gym. That’s progress right? On top of that, we did manage to take a field trip (out of the house, other than the pediatrician) this week – okay, so it was Babies R’ Us and I had to walk around with my finger in Felicity’s mouth so she wouldn’t scream the whole time…but we made it out of the house. I’m not complaining at all, just apologizing for not being as present.

One last thing…don’t forget to subscribe to Ramblings and Photos by Ashley Sisk via my RSS feed. I was hoping we’d migrate over to WordPress this week, but my husband’s paying customers took priority for going live over me. It will be happening soon though, so stay tuned! With that said, welcome back to the Scavenger Hunt. If you’ve participated in the Scavenger Hunt in the past, I hope this week’s items inspired you. If you’re new to the Scavenger Hunt…WELCOME! Next week’s items are sponsored by Chelsea of Hearts & Scars.
Scavenger Hunt Sunday
The rules are simple:
  1. Anyone can participate.
  2. You’re encouraged to take five new photos this week for the challenge. Creativity is also encouraged!
  3. If you get stumped, you may use one photo from your archive (although I’m not too strict about it – I do my best to take fresh shots).
  4. Link up here on Sunday (or Tuesday at the latest) – you can use the button above.
  5. Leave comments for at least five entries around yours (we have so many new participants each week, this is the only way I know to be inclusive).
  6. Have fun!
Without further discussion…here are my interpretations this week:

1. Paint
Tiny Toes RS
Or rather, lack thereof. My feet are in desperate need of a pedicure. Not that anyone cares, but I rarely get pedicures since doing so frequently causes my legs to break out (something about the lotion and hot compress – even when I ask them not to do it). During the course of my pregnancy, I just painted my own nails. I think I even painted my nails a couple of weeks ago, but the paint is starting to chip away. Earlier this week I thought about painting my nails…then I looked down at Felicity’s tiny feet and considered painting her toes too. Obviously I didn’t paint her toes…and mine still need attention.

2. Green
Green Grass RS
I’m pretty sure this shot speaks for itself – I mean, it’s green grass. What you don’t see is me on the ground to get this shot. It’s been a while since I’ve been able to crawl around on the ground to get a photo.

3. Eyelashes
Eyelashes RS
I’ve always hoped that my children would get my husband’s eyes…and eyelashes. Well, it appears as if Felicity has gotten his eyelashes. Now, I’ll just hope that she keeps those blue eyes.

4. Shapes
Shapes RS
Yesterday, I pulled out Felicity’s activity mat and development board. For the past four weeks, I think she’s really just been catching up on what she missed in the womb by coming five weeks early. She’s finally starting to be awake for longer periods of time so I thought she might like something to look at…and stimulate the brain. She loves the black and white shapes.

5. Clouds Stormy clouds RS
A storm blew in on Friday afternoon. The clouds were pretty incredible. The amber glow following the storm was even more beautiful, but by that point in the evening…I had a baby (not a camera) in hand.

So, what were your interpretations of the items this week? Be sure to load your pictures on your blog (or your Flickr photostream) and link up at the bottom of this post. Feel free to grab a button to display on your blog along with your scavenger hunt items. The linky will be open until Tuesday night at midnight (EST). If you didn’t participate this week, but want to participate next week, here are your items (these can also be found at the bottom of my blog each week), sponsored by Chelsea of Hearts & Scars:
  1. Going Back in Time
  2. Something Just for Me
  3. Best Part of My Day
  4. Night & Day
  5. Look Up
Again, thank you to Chelsea for so many great scavenger hunt items (I pulled her list from July 2011). If you’d like to contribute items to the list, just send me an email with your suggestions (I can better keep track of them this way – and I appreciate all of you that have submitted lists already…my SHS file is quite happy). Each week, I will select one reader’s prompt list, add those items to what is currently on tap and give the selected reader a shout out on my blog during Scavenger Hunt Sunday. Happy Shooting!
