Scavenger Hunt Sunday
Other than going to the pediatrician, I don’t think I’ve left the house this week. Hmmm, I’ll have to change that this coming week…even if it’s just to walk around Target. Although, the visit to our pediatrician was worth a trip out of the house. Felicity has met her birth weight (and would have gained even more had it not been for a dirty diaper) and we saw our lactation consultant only so we could tell her how great things were going. So, I guess I can’t complain too much about life on the home front.

On the other hand, my husband and I have been working diligently over the past few weeks to launch my new website. It’s been a work in progress since January, but this time we’re serious. Ramblings and Photos by Ashley Sisk will be making a move to WordPress next week. For those of you that follow me via Google Friend Connect, you may want to subscribe via RSS feed in order to stay connected. To do this, scroll to the bottom of my page and click on the orange subscribe square (in between the Facebook and Flickr buttons…just above the GFC application). From there, it will give you a number of options by which to follow me – choose the option that best works for you. My url won’t change so if you forget, just continue going to www.ashleysisk.com – I’ll be sure to remind you again next Sunday (and probably any other time I post for the next couple of weeks). It’s pretty awesome so I hope you’ll like it.
With that said, welcome back to the Scavenger Hunt. If you’ve participated in the Scavenger Hunt in the past, I hope this week’s items inspired you. If you’re new to the Scavenger Hunt…WELCOME! Next week’s items are sponsored by Ginger of My Life Just As It Is.
Scavenger Hunt Sunday
The rules are simple:
  1. Anyone can participate.
  2. You’re encouraged to take five new photos this week for the challenge. Creativity is also encouraged!
  3. If you get stumped, you may use one photo from your archive (although I’m not too strict about it – I do my best to take fresh shots).
  4. Link up here on Sunday (or Tuesday at the latest) – you can use the button above.
  5. Leave comments for at least five entries around yours (we have so many new participants each week, this is the only way I know to be inclusive).
  6. Have fun!
Without further discussion…here are my interpretations this week:

1. Wrapped
IMG_8129 RS
Felicity is not a huge fan of a swaddle…at least not one that prevents her from moving her arms. She definitely doesn’t like those zip-up swaddles. So, rather than terrorize my little girl, I decided to go with an alternative interpretation for “wrapped.” Felicity has us “WRAPPED” around her little finger…so much so that when I hear the slightest whimper in the middle of night, I’m out of my bed faster than Batman!

2. Time Together
Our Little Family RS
I think I’ve mentioned before that I am now a WAHM (work at home mom). My last day as a full time employee was also Felicity’s birthday…and from this point forward, I will work on a subcontractor basis for my previous employer in addition to increasing my portrait work. Meanwhile, my husband also works from home. We feel so blessed to have this time together as a family while Felicity is so little.

3. Tell Me a Story
Snuggles with Daddy RS
Both my husband and I look forward to snuggle time each day. My husband’s snuggle time starts first thing in the morning just after her first feeding. Not that he wakes up any sooner (quite the opposite), but he really loves to lay next to Felicity for just a few minutes while the rest of the world seems to be at rest. I never have my camera on me when these moments happen, but I did have it on me the other night when he snuck in a late night snuggle. When I see them laying there together, they look even more alike.

4. Love or Couple
IMG_8187 RS
My husband has often told me that he fell in love with me the moment he first saw me – I can’t say that I had the exact same feelings towards him (I was a bit hesitant). However, when Felicity was born, it really was love at first sight for both of us. I always knew he’d be a great father, but to see it in action…one of God’s greatest gifts.

5. Duplicated
IMG_8128 RS
When a baby is born, I think it’s normal to ask “who does the baby look like?” We’ve decided that Felicity will have my husband’s eyes (and we’re hopeful that they’ll stay blue). On the other hand, she has my full head of dark hair (I was born with jet black hair), my lips and my toes. Sometimes when we look at her, it’s as if we just duplicated ourselves.

So, what were your interpretations of the items this week? Be sure to load your pictures on your blog (or your Flickr photostream) and link up at the bottom of this post. Feel free to grab a button to display on your blog along with your scavenger hunt items. The linky will be open until Tuesday night at midnight (EST). If you didn’t participate this week, but want to participate next week, here are your items (these can also be found at the bottom of my blog each week), sponsored by Ginger of My Life Just As It Is
  1. Paint
  2. Green
  3. Eyelashes
  4. Shapes
  5. Clouds
Again, thank you to Ginger for so many great scavenger hunt items (I pulled a list from May 2011). If you’d like to contribute items to the list, just send me an email with your suggestions (I can better keep track of them this way – and I appreciate all of you that have submitted lists already…my SHS file is quite happy). Each week, I will select one reader’s prompt list, add those items to what is currently on tap and give the selected reader a shout out on my blog during Scavenger Hunt Sunday. Happy Shooting!

I am so happy you will both be home during Felicity’s babyhood! Lovely photos. She is beautiful just like you.

Love yours. So funny that we both shared all photos of Felicity this week. He he! I had so much fun. I hope to send out your CD on Monday. It didn’t quite get done last night. he he.

she’s gorgeous – I miss those times so much! Having a new baby in the house was one of my favorite times!

Oops, my picture for the thumbnail didn’t show up..

these are beautiful, particularly like the time together shot- so lovely!

I am so glad that the weight gain and nursing is going well! Yeah! Beautiful set of pictures!

So very glad to hear that Felicity is growing well. She is such a cutie. I absolutely adore the Time Together Shot. What a lovely family. Daddy looks so in love and in awe of his daughter.

Who doesn’t love baby pictures….your time together photo is just wonderful and I love your tell me a story.

She is so beautiful. Such great photos.

Oh my gosh these are just so darling. You guys make the sweetest family. The Tell Me a Story photo is absolutely precious.
I’m so happy that you are both able to spend so much time with Felicity. They grow up so fast so be sure to soak every moment in that you can.

She is so beautiful! I’m so smitten over here with your new baby girl. Noah hated to be swaddled when he was a baby, too. He was all about stretching his feet and arms and legs and would go insane when we tried to wrap him up. Glad you guys are adjusting to life as new parents and how awesome that you both get to work from home during this time. What a blessing! : )

Love how little miss Felicity fits every prompt and so perfectly, too. Love the time together shot.

Absolutely perfect choices! You have a lovely family – and the love shines through in every photo!

Beautiful photos, Ashley! I love seeing your hubby’s relationship with Felicity.

Beautiful photos, Ashley! I love seeing your hubby’s relationship with Felicity.

    Such sweet captures!

What precious photos…and what a beautiful family. How lucky you are to all be at home while Felicity is young – that’s fantastic. Thanks for sharing these very sweet images! Your “wrapped” describes exactly how I was, too – it’s as if as Moms our ears suddenly become 100 times more sensitive to sound.

She is so gorgeous!! So glad she regained that weight!

Such a beautiful series this week Ashley.
You truly are blessed by God with such a sweet, loving family.
So glad Felicity is growing as she should.

Just lovin’ all these beautiful images of your new little one and your husband is so smitten with his daughter. Lovely photos. Happy Motherhood!!

each picture even more endearing as the one before. You have a beautiful family.

Absolutely lovely! This is certainly a time to cherish and you’ve captured it beautifully.

Oh these are so sweet Ashley- you are so blessed that you both get to be home with her at these most precious times.

These are all so precious. Love the time together shot!

My cousin used these straight jacket swaddle sleepers on all three of her kids and it just made me squirm to see them so tightly wrapped up. Her kids seemed to like it so I guess it was a good thing…for them.

It sounds like you three are getting some great bonding time.

Your baby photos are priceless…I love the one where your husband is holding Felicity while wearing a “proud to be a papa” look on his face. Again, congrats!

Your photos this week are SOOOO beautiful! What a gorgeous family!

I love it! And then to find Felicity on Sarah’s page was double your pleasure. Soak it all up, it goes by in the blink of an eye. She’s a darling.

Yay for Felicity reaching (and, now, surpassing) her birth weight! Whoo hoo! That makes a good week, indeed. And I sympathize with you about the need to get out of the house–after my (now 6 year-old) daughter was born, I distinctly remember making a trip to CVS to buy shampoo. I didn’t need shampoo; I needed to get out, even if I was going to be exhausted afterwards!

    Beautiful photos!

Ashley – I can’t wait to see the new website… how exciting?!?!? And it sounds like you both are really taking to parenthood. YAY! Loved your set this week. Such a cutie she is!!!

Love each and every one of those photos, Ashely! Precious!

Very cool that the two of you get to stay home together with her. Lovely interpretations and you look like you are really enjoying your time.

Love your trime together, and I wish you a very nice time with your newwborn ;))

That is SUCH a beautiful baby.
    Such gorgeous photos, too.

Good luck with your new site Ashley. I hope wordpress serves you well.
The love going on in your household is apparent in each of your images. Beautiful set.

    Hi Ashley,
Great shots! Love the snuggle time picture, precious. Have a great day!

    Food for Thought

These are all so beautiful! And Felicity is just darling! So glad you both get to be home with her while she is little. They grow so fast!

    Woof Ashley I’m back again!
I think I might steal Felicity’s pink toes to snuggle on drooly cold nights!

These pictures are just beautiful Ashley!

    Congratulations! Felicity is so adorable.

So glad she’s up to her birth weight!! Don’t worry about not leaving the house. I hibernated after all of my babies were born. Gorgeous photos, all of them. I’m so glad for you that you can stay at home with your precious bundle :)

What a sweet little girl! beautiful family portraits!
She will always have you wrapped around her fingers!

How wonderful that you both get to be at home with her!! I can’t imagine anything more wonderful! I feel so blessed to have been able to stay home with Taylor until he started kindergarten. I believe that’s why we have such a close bond (not that working mothers don’t have a bond with their children).
And, for both of you to get to be home with her, just amazing!!
She is a very lucky little girl :-)

That’s exciting news about being home with Felicity! It’s nice to have the help of both of you being there!!

I really love that photo of the 3 of you. You look gorgeous!

I am still getting used to this wonderful change of you now being a momma and getting to enjoy these fantastic pictures of your beautiful daughter when I get to stop by your blog. She is precious Ashley and you are doing a wonderful job of capturing her and your family!
