Scavenger Hunt Sunday
Scavenger Hunt Sunday
This week completely got away from me. I had full intentions of visiting your scavenger hunts and it just didn’t happen…no excuses, it just didn’t happen and I apologize. Felicity is seven weeks old now so I’m thinking that by the time she’s a full two months old, that I might achieve some sort of schedule. For those of you who are parents…do tell, what’s normal? There again, I’m really enjoying just hanging with my girl so blogging has taken a back seat. Okay, I said it – I’ve enjoyed being away from the computer. But, I still love Scavenger Hunt Sunday and I love you guys so I hope you’ll continue to hunt with me…even if I don’t visit your blogs every week.

With that said, welcome back to the Scavenger Hunt. If you’ve participated in the Scavenger Hunt in the past, I hope this week’s items inspired you. If you’re new to the Scavenger Hunt…WELCOME! Next week’s items are sponsored by Paper Heart Camera and Mikayla.
Scavenger Hunt Sunday
The rules are simple:

  1. Anyone can participate.
  2. You’re encouraged to take five new photos this week for the challenge. Creativity is also encouraged!
  3. If you get stumped, you may use one photo from your archive (although I’m not too strict about it – I do my best to take fresh shots).
  4. Link up here on Sunday (or Tuesday at the latest) – you can use the button above.
  5. Leave comments for at least five entries around yours (we have so many new participants each week, this is the only way I know to be inclusive).
  6. Have fun!

Without further discussion…here are my interpretations this week:

1. Forest

Lake Johnson trails
On Friday, we decided to take a family outing to the lake. It was actually our first time using our stroller…and it only took us seven weeks to get there. There is a beautiful trail around the lake – we thought it best to stick to the trees as it was much more shaded. Several points during our walk, Felicity got a bit fussy. We took turns walking with her in our arms. Of course, I had my camera on me so I captured this sweet moment.

2. Morning Light

Kitty Paw
The past few weeks, I’ve actually been sleeping right through the morning light. Maybe I’m the only one, but when your child decides to “play” during adult sleeping hours…you take advantage of their morning nap. Anyways, one night this week, she slept pretty well…so, we woke up at 8:30 am (which used to be sleeping in for me) and caught Kitty Paw basking in the morning sun. For those of you who have been wondering where Kitty Paw has been – she’s been hiding.

3. Touch

Jeremy holding Felicity
I could have gone with the literal here, but I went with a photo that touches my heart. However, on our way home, my husband said to me, “but I didn’t get any photos of you today.” I’ve been told that I have to make a more assertive effort to hand my camera off.

4. Newspaper

Newspaper: Contemplate Your Shot
I apologize for diving into my archives on this one. We don’t take the paper…and I didn’t do effective planning for this week’s set. Heck, nine times out of ten, I don’t know what’s going on in the news (with the exception of right now since our TVs are bombarded with political ads).

5. Coffee or Tea

Drinking coffee just isn’t the same now that I don’t go into the office five days a week. I didn’t drink coffee much at home anyways, and now I really don’t. My husband does though, so I took a picture of his coffee the other morning.

So, what were your interpretations of the items this week? Be sure to load your pictures on your blog (or your Flickr photostream) and link up at the bottom of this post. Feel free to grab a button to display on your blog along with your scavenger hunt items. The linky will be open until Tuesday night at midnight (EST). If you didn’t participate this week, but want to participate next week, here are your items (these can also be found at the bottom of my blog each week), sponsored by Paper Heart Camera and Mikayla:

  1. School
  2. Rule of Thirds
  3. Side Profile
  4. Small
  5. Motion

Again, thank you to Paper Heart Camera and Mikayla for so many great scavenger hunt items. If you’d like to contribute items to the list, just send me an email with your suggestions (I can better keep track of them this way – and I appreciate all of you that have submitted lists already…my SHS file is quite happy). Each week, I will select one reader’s prompt list, add those items to what is currently on tap and give the selected reader a shout out on my blog during Scavenger Hunt Sunday.

Oh, one more thing…I think I’m going to start up a new linky. I shall call it “WITTLE PEOPLE WEDNESDAY!” Feel free to join me or not, but it’ll be a way for me to share photos of my baby girl…and any of my little clients (aka babies, toddlers, children – you get the idea). No themes, just photos worth sharing. Here’s a button to inspire you.

Happy Shooting!

Great captures. I love the one you used for morning light. Those poor kitties have a hard time adjusting to new family members.

Sweet photos. Yes you need to get in more photos!! :) Love wittle people wednesday. :) Inspire me to take more photos of my boys.

Love your Forest and Touch photos. It is SO nice to get out once in a while when you have a little one. Keep taking her out and eventually she will come to love riding in the stroller- mine do!

It took me a long time to get back to a schedule. Once they turn 4-6 months-ish, they get on more of a schedule… and that obviously helps you get back to one yourself. Hang in there!

(And don’t feel BAD for not visiting…. I have no idea how you were always able to get all those visits in pre-baby! Post-baby….oy… there is just not enough free time! At least not enough free time with TWO hands free!)

I think your amazing just to get a post done! Gorgeous photos this week!

Love the morning light and touch. And as for normal, I think it constantly changes especially when they are this little!

Lovely light in all your photos and I like most your morning light photo !!! Newspaper and Father and child photo is very beautiful !!

    Have a nice week !

I really love your photos, very serene and calm!

All your shots look great.. But your touch shot melts my heart…

great shots, Ashley…I was happy to see Kitty Paw. Enjoy this time with Felicity and don’t worry about us. We will be here…

Wow! What beautiful photos! I hope Felicity is doing well.

These are precious, Ashley! Glad to hear Kitty Paw is coping as best she can, even if it’s hiding (-:

Oh honey I think you’re amazing for what you’re doing! I too am finding a happy medium with blogging and my girls… Miss 2 and Miss 9 weeks take precedence over blogging and it’s lovely to see that Felicity can already push your love for blogging aside – that’s as it should be! Enjoy these moments… enjoy this time… because it is soooo quick! :) I can’t wait to join back up more regularly with you here too! But always love stopping in and checking out everyone else’s work! :) xx

Well, it appears that Kitty Paw still rules the house. :) LOVE that 1st shot.

No worries! We know you are getting in your groove. It can take a while & everyone’s normal is different- especially depending on your parenting style & family dynamic. It will calm soon- just enjoy her at this precious stage before she gets big.

Beautiful shots! It’s been a long time since my kids were babies, but as I remember, there is no “normal”. It’s just great that you’re enjoying her so much! Have a great week.

Your Touch photo is so sweet. Love it! And once you have kids, “normal” is whatever happens each day. You just learn how to adapt. :).

Your photos are lovely…Kitty Paw looks beautiful in that shot! And, of course, the images with Dad and his little one are precious… :)

Normal? Nothing will be normal again! lol (just kidding, of course…sort of)

    Have a wonderful week!

The joy of parenting you will soon discover is as soon as you get a routine and everything seems to be undercontrol everything changes :) Sleeping patterns get disrupted by teething and so on. So just hold on and enjoy the ride. My boys are old enough that they beg to see pictures on the computer, so we get to look at all the SHS pictures together.

I love your morning light picture. Tell Kitty Paw my dog Harley says hi :)

what a great set!! i love seeing so many pictures of the beautiful family, they are always my favorites!!

if you had not told me, i would not know/remember that you had not stopped by!! i remember what it was like having little ones, it’s a full time job. no worries here!! xo

Those forest shots are sheer perfection. Great job Ashley.

Glad you’re sleeping when you can, even if that means missing the morning light. ;)
    Gorgeous photos, as usual!!!

Your touch photo is precious. This is my first week here and it was a lot of fun playing. Thanks for hosting.

Yay Kitty Paw! And in such gorgeous light. I bet she’s been hiding. Love that first image-that’s really beautiful and a great POV. Happy day Ashley. Don’t worry about the visits, sometimes it’s hard even without a baby.

Aww.. the touch photo is so sweet! And poor Kitty Paw… still adjusting, is she?

WPW sounds like a cute idea! :D

I was wondering how Kitty Paw was doing with all the baby activity. Of course this is nothing compared to when her human sissy starts crawling. LOL. Love the shot of Felicity and your husband. Perfectly sweet.

Sweet photos! I’ll look forward to linking up with Wittle People Wednesday. :) Can’t wait to see more photos of Felicity! She’s adorable.

I love forest and morning light photos!

Ahh what a special image of Daddy holding Felicity. And finally Kitty Paw makes an appearance. Sweet shots!!

I love the two of your husband with Felicity. So sweet.

You know, every situation is different, but by 12 weeks life with my babies became more predictable and settled.

Fantastic photos, and what a beautiful place to walk!!

The schedule can take a while. I know I’m just the grandma and not the mommy, but I went over to help the kids with Emmett when he was born and it seems that for about the first 8 weeks the day just totally revolved around him! It was hard to get anything else done, even for me. It seemed, though, about that 8 week mark, things started to settle in to a routine and it got a little easier. Now Kory might tell you something completely different, but that’s the way it was for me.

    Hi Ashley,
Great snapshots! The baby is growing so fast. Love the picture of Kitty Paw. Have a great day!

    Food for Thought

LOVE forest and touch! And it is good to see Kitty Paw again! She’s so pretty! Glad you are enjoying the time you have with the baby!

I love the touch image! You have a beautiful family!

Ashley, after raising five children and now on to enjoying grandchildren I have to say I have come to realize the only normal is the setting on the washing machine. But no need worry you will find your own normal. Life has a way of happening around us. I have missed the last few SHS’s and hope that I can get go searching tomorrow to join this weeks. Have a wonderful week.

LOVED your morning light shot! And I totally get the not blogging thing. Children have a way of stealing our hearts! You are doing the best thing by giving her all your attention and time, children grow so fast! Enjoy your time with her!

Yay for widdle people wedesday! so fun!

Love your set. My favorite is the forest one, those colors are so pretty. Thanks for hosting, as always!

I love the pic you used for Wittle Wednesday! Wonder who Felicity gets that silliness from! Nice to see Kitty Paw! Tell the fam Aunt Beth says Hey! <3

Ashley these are fantastic. I love the pic you choose for forest! All babies are diff, they will adjust to their own schedule when they are ready for that. I hope she gets you in one soon. I didn’t have a schedule with my first but my second boy huge diffierence she was a routine girl and still is at the age of two.
I am looking forward to wittle people wednesday, I’ll be joining in.

Aww Kitty-paw, you are still loved . Missed seeing your furry little self. Love the touch shot . . . Felicity’s daddy seems like a natural Papa.

Very nice entries! I love that shot of your cat!

All beautiful interpretations Ashley! I love seeing your sweet girl! Those pics with her daddy are priceless. But yes! Do take some with you. The time goes so quickly! My “baby” is turning 2 today and I can hardly stand it. I always look back and wish I had been in more photo of my kids, especially as babies.

Normal always seems to be changing, and weekly when they are infants. I think if you have the luxury of just going with the flow and not worrying too much about a strict schedule you’ll enjoy it more.

Love your idea for the new link up. Can’t wait to see more photos ;)

I like your idea for Wednesdays ;)
Great pictures this week. I should have thought of using our cat for morning light too. She is always laying near me in the nursery when I am feeding Mason.

I can’t pic a fav this week… all of them turned out fabulous!! baby is so sweet… and time with her is so precious… soak up every last drop of your time with her! =) love the new linky idea… cute! love the new button too! =) my little ones aren’t so little anymore! *sigh* though this week I gave peeps a sneak peek of Abby when she was littler! =) lol!

Always a pleasure to join you in the hunt. Totally understand that you aren’t always able to comment on everyone’s blogs.
Great set. Forest is lovely, what a great place to take a walk.
Morning Light is wonderful. Poor “jealous” Kittypaw, she’s get over it.
Loved the processing on your Coffee shot.

These are so beautifulat! I haven’t been able to do SHS the last couple months its fun to see your interpetations as always :-) Maybe next week I can jump back into SHS. LOVE your idea for Wednesday!
