Oh, how do you like my new website? I’m sure there are a few kinks to work out of the system, but I think it’s pretty awesome. However, I don’t think WordPress uses Google Friend Connect (not that it matters now that they’ve moved to Google+), so be sure to subscribe to Ramblings and Photos by Ashley Sisk via my RSS feed if you want to continue following me (and I really hope you do).
With that said, welcome back to the Scavenger Hunt. If you’ve participated in the Scavenger Hunt in the past, I hope this week’s items inspired you. If you’re new to the Scavenger Hunt…WELCOME! Next week’s items are sponsored by Mortal Muses’ Mobile Monday, Anika Toro and Paper Heart Camera.
- Anyone can participate.
- You’re encouraged to take five new photos this week for the challenge. Creativity is also encouraged!
- If you get stumped, you may use one photo from your archive (although I’m not too strict about it – I do my best to take fresh shots).
- Link up here on Sunday (or Tuesday at the latest) – you can use the button above.
- Leave comments for at least five entries around yours (we have so many new participants each week, this is the only way I know to be inclusive).
- Have fun!
Without further discussion…here are my interpretations this week:
1. Going Back in Time
I am in the process of collecting photos of me and my husband as babies. My mom sent a stack of my photos a few weeks ago (and I had some on my computer) because we were curious as to whether or not Felicity favored me any as a baby. I’ll put together a much larger post with pictures of both of us (me and my husband) to compare our baby pictures with hers, but for now you can admire me as a cutie patootie.
2. Something Just for Me
This is going to have to be symbolic, because the two things I’m really able to do just for me right now is shower and sleep. I can’t very well take a picture of either of those activities, so you get a picture of Felicity sleeping…which of course is exactly when I can do what I need to do for me. Speaking of which, I need a shower.
3. Best Part of My Day
Even though my husband works from home, he is very disciplined about staying focused on work during the day so he can enjoy some family time in the evening (unless of course I really need his help doing something). However, the time he spends with Felicity is priceless…she loves hanging with her daddy. Look how she points her finger at him.
4. Night & Day
This is a mouse-over image. On her “due date” earlier this week, I had a little photo session with Felicity. She was sleeping so peacefully that I took a few shots of her wearing one of the smocked gowns she got at my shower in June. In one moment, she was sound asleep and the next she was screaming bloody murder. That’s kinda how it is around here night and day.
5. Look Up
Another moment with daddy. When Felicity is awake and alert, we try to take advantage of that time by playing with her a bit. I often pull out her activity mat, the development board or just sit and talk to her. Her daddy enjoys making up rhymes and tickling/blowing on her belly.
So, what were your interpretations of the items this week? Be sure to load your pictures on your blog (or your Flickr photostream) and link up at the bottom of this post. Feel free to grab a button to display on your blog along with your scavenger hunt items. The linky will be open until Tuesday night at midnight (EST). If you didn’t participate this week, but want to participate next week, here are your items (these can also be found at the bottom of my blog each week), sponsored by Mortal Muses’ Mobile Monday, Anika Toro and Paper Heart Camera.
- Mobile (referring to mobile phone photos)
- Hanging by a Thread (Anika’s suggestion)
- Collage (Anika’s suggestion)
- Always Look on the Bright Side (Anika’s suggestion)
- Home (Paper Heart Camera theme for August 12)
Again, thank you to the Mortal Muses, Anika Toro and Paper Heart Camera for so many great scavenger hunt items. If you’d like to contribute items to the list, just send me an email with your suggestions (I can better keep track of them this way – and I appreciate all of you that have submitted lists already…my SHS file is quite happy). Each week, I will select one reader’s prompt list, add those items to what is currently on tap and give the selected reader a shout out on my blog during Scavenger Hunt Sunday. Happy Shooting!
