Believe it or not, I actually took her advice and gave free-lensing a try. I’ve attempted it in the past, but missed the step about moving my lens to infinity. Duh! Granted, my only subject this week was Felicity…and she spent the entire five minutes crying, but I’m kinda loving the result. I can’t wait to try it again soon.
Ready to join in the fun? Here’s how to do it:

Love these!! Great job.
It is fun to experiment.
Love this effect!!!! How do you focus on infinity of your lense does not have the infinity symbol on it?
Such a cute picture…Love the outfit too…
What is free-lensing? The photos are just BEAUTIFUL! So fun for you to have a baby in the house to photograph, Ashley! Her life will be beautifully documented. Wish I could go back and photograph mine with what I know now..ha ha!
Beautiful shots, it is a fun challenge, not sure if I have done it right. Cheers
I’m not sure I get it, but your results are beautiful…is the desire to have a very narrow depth of field?
