Scavenger Hunt Sunday
This weekend, we visited my in-laws for the weekend so we could attend my brother-in-law’s engagement party. I knew that traveling with a two month old would be interesting…but I had no idea. We had a great time seeing everyone, but I think we could both use a long nap.

With that said, welcome back to the Scavenger Hunt.I don’t have much of a story today, but I hope you like my photos. If you’ve participated in the Scavenger Hunt in the past, I hope this week’s items inspired you. If you’re new to the Scavenger Hunt…WELCOME! Next week’s items are sponsored by Kimberly at a Fresh Perspective.

The rules are simple:

1) Anyone can participate.
2) You’re encouraged to take five new photos this week for the challenge. Creativity is also encouraged!
3) If you get stumped, you may use one photo from your archive (although I’m not too strict about it – I do my best to take fresh shots).
4) Link up here on Sunday (or Tuesday at the latest) – you can use the button above.
5) Leave comments for at least five entries around yours (with so many new participants each week, it’s the only way I know to be inclusive).
6) Have fun!

Without further discussion…here are my interpretations this week:

1. Monochromatic

I think I took this shot a couple of weeks ago and never edited it. I would have taken a new photo…and been a little more original with “monochromatic” than just my processing, but packing for me and Felicity proved to be quite a challenge. Not so much the packing itself, but her being awake and wanting to be held. I do have a wrap, but she’s been fighting it lately.

2. Starts with the letter…F

I feel like I should be saying, “today’s message is sponsored by the letter F!” Felicity starts with the letter F…as does flying.

3. Upside Down

I’m always amazed by the positions Felicity falls asleep in. Most of the time, it doesn’t look comfortable but if she’s sleeping well, I won’t mess with her. In this particular case, she’s not completely upside down, but she would have been had we not stopped her.

4. Hair

baby hair
The other morning, we woke up and Felicity was rocking this sweet hair do. I quickly remembered that hair was one of our prompts this week and pulled out the camera. Unfortunately, I didn’t get my settings right the first time. However, Lightroom saved me.

5. Soft

I tried a few things for this prompt, but wasn’t happy with most of what I came up with. So, I settled on “soft focus.”

So, what were your interpretations of the items this week? Be sure to load your pictures on your blog (or your Flickr photostream) and link up at the bottom of this post. Feel free to grab a button to display on your blog along with your scavenger hunt items. The linky will be open until Tuesday night at midnight (EST). If you didn’t participate this week, but want to participate next week, here are your items (these can also be found at the bottom of my blog each week), sponsored by Kimberly at a Fresh Perspective:

1) Kiss
2) Askew
3) Fragrant
4) Simple
5) Plant

Again, thank you to Kimberly at a Fresh Perspective for so many great scavenger hunt items. If you’d like to contribute items to the list, just send me an email with your suggestions (I can better keep track of them this way – and I appreciate all of you that have submitted lists already…my SHS file is quite happy). Each week, I will select one reader’s prompt list, add those items to what is currently on tap and give the selected reader a shout out on my blog during Scavenger Hunt Sunday.

Happy Shooting!

oh that hair iskilling me (in a good way) – My babies never had hair – it is cracking me up!

I quite like your soft focus shot! Really neat! But, F’s hair is a show stealer for me! Love that hair.

Love your flying Felicity and the soft shot, too. I remember traveling with a 2 month old even though that baby now has 5 of his own little girlies. It is quite a challenge.

Love your soft focus, & Felicity’s hair is gorgeous!

Felicity is so precious. I just love her hair shot..

    As always a wonderful set.
I liked your processing for Monochromatic and the cool web.
My absolute favorite though from your set is the Hair shot, Oh my that is a “rockin” hairdo!

    Felicity is so adorable.

I love how babies and children can fall asleep in the most peculiar positions. Love Felicity’s wild and crazy hair (both of my children had peach-fuzz so the bad hair days had to wait). Great set all around.

I like your upside down pic and monochromatic too !! Have a nice Sunday :)

Love that sleeping position! Babies find the strangest, yet cutest, position to sleep in!

Beautiful Ashley, and that hair shot is just priceless!!

    Oh that hair!

These are adorable. Love that crazy hair do!!!

Love your choices this week. That hair is fabulous!!!

Yes traveling with a young baby is difficult. Our issue was always the over stimulation. We had my sister-in-law’s wedding when my son was 3 months old. He was great all day- when we got back to where we were staying- he had a hysterical crying fit that could not be calmed for about 3 hours straight. When he finally konked out- I wanted to have my own fit. It was exhausiting. :)

Love the first shot!!! Felicity is just a doll I love the hair shot!

Hair! Funny. Love that soft focus shot-you made it work.

Love your shots of sweet Felicity!!

I love all her hair. It’s adorable. My kids were all pretty bald when they were born!!! :) I’m going to try to link up soon… it’s on my radar!!! :)

HAIR is adorable… what a sweet profile.

I LOVE upside down. My pups do that, but I can’t remember my children doing it. So amazing! I also like your monochromic. A translucent spider web is great to come up with a monochromic shot. I will file that in my memory banks. If you pass by my “hunt”, you will see that I was stumped this week for that prompt.
    BTW, your daughter is adorable.

Love that hair…and the upside down photo is precious.

what a great linky! i think i’ll try and participate next week! that upside down pic is perfect!

Your hair shot is adorable! Contrats to your little girl! She is a cutie!

Great set of photos! I love Felicity’s hair shot! Precious!!

That babydoll is too cute for words. I love hair!

Nice, love your soft focus, and nice save on the hair. Have a great week!

Sweet photos, upside down sleeping shot is my fave. Babies are just so precious when they are asleep.

Your upside down shot totally had me giggling. I remember the strange positions my babies fell asleep in. My four year old still sleeps in the most bizarre positions, like with his head or limbs nearly off the bed!

Your hair shot is fun too. My babies always have a good head of hair even though I only had peach fuzz…must get it from their dad !

Love your set! That spider web photo is wonderful. Love the processing you did on it! And I love Felicity’s hair! Reminds me of Alex when he was a newborn. He had so much hair! Your soft focus photo is great too. I can’t seem to nail those. :)

Thanks for using my list for next week’s hunt!

Love her crazy hair!! She looks like a little rocker! :) I have been trying to get some good spiderweb shot but haven’t been that successful. Love yours!

I love seeing photos of your precious little girl, Ashley! I wish I had known more about photography when my kids were little. You do such a nice job!

    Love that do! Adorable!

It is just amazing the positions little ones can sleep in. Your interpretation of the letter F is my favorite. Have a wonderful week.

Hi Ashley… sorry I am SO late this week! we had a few funny hiccups in the last week… read all about them on my blog if you like! =) anyway… LOVE LOVE funky baby hair and upside down!! baby bliss. =)

I’ve been meaning to join in the fun for some time now and I think I can finally do that. Looking forward to this week’s theme! Thank you for hosting this!
