Scavenger Hunt Sunday
Welcome back to another week of Scavenger Hunt Sunday. Big things happened this week…well one big thing. My nephew, Logan Bennett, was born! I’m planning on shooting his newborn photos soon…and of course I’ll share them. On another note, I wanted to remind you that the Quarter Top Five is coming soon. If you’ve been participating, you know the routine, but if you’re new, here are a few things you should know:

  • Linky begins Wednesday, September 26th through Wednesday, October 3rd
  • Go through your July, August and September 2012 photo archives.
  • Choose your favorite FIVE photos and post them to your blog or Flickr account beginning September 26th
  • PLEASE only use photos that include your CHILDREN and/or PETS
  • Accompany each photo with a short explanation (or caption) of why it was selected
  • Link up with Amber at Click.Pray.Love, & Sarah at NapTime MomTog, or me at Ramblings and Photos
With that said, let’s get to the hunt. If you’ve participated in the Scavenger Hunt in the past, I hope this week’s items inspired you. If you’re new to the Scavenger Hunt…WELCOME! Next week’s items are sponsored by Sacha at Sacha’s Saucy Snippets and Chelsea at Hearts & Scars.

The rules are simple:
  1. Anyone can participate.
  2. You’re encouraged to take five new photos this week for the challenge. Creativity is also encouraged!
  3. If you get stumped, you may use one photo from your archive (although I’m not too strict about it – I do my best to take fresh shots).
  4. Link up here on Sunday (or Tuesday at the latest) – you can use the button above.
  5. Leave comments for at least five entries around yours (with so many new participants each week, it’s the only way I know to be inclusive).
  6. Have fun!
Without further discussion…here are my interpretations this week:

1. Cracked

Let’s start with my least inspiring image. The siding on our house is a bit cracked…we think from the lawn mower hitting it one too many times. At least it’s only that way on the back of the house.

2. Fallen

When I initially saw this prompt, I thought we might see a few leaves on the ground this week. I forget though that Autumn doesn’t officially kick off until this weekend…and for North Carolina, October is our big month. I can’t even wait. However, I have “fallen” in love with my little girl. I’ll fall in love all over again this weekend when I meet my new nephew.

3. Ordinary Color

I took a similar photo a year or two ago using this same pinwheel. This time, however, I was holding a baby in one hand and my camera in the other. I don’t know if these colors are ordinary, but I do love them.

4. Bokeh

I took this photo about a month ago and hadn’t processed it. I love shooting in manual focus mode to capture this type of shot. Speaking of bokeh, Christmas is just around the corner – yay for Christmas Tree bokeh!

5. Fence

How about fences? I took this photo from my front door. Across the street, it appears as if our neighbors went through a fence battle. One house would put up a fence, and then the next…all different styles, until the last house just had to put up one side. It looks kinda funny now.

So, what were your interpretations of the items this week? Be sure to load your pictures on your blog (or your Flickr photostream) and link up at the bottom of this post. Feel free to grab a button to display on your blog along with your scavenger hunt items. The linky will be open until Tuesday night at midnight (EST). If you didn’t participate this week, but want to participate next week, here are your items (these can also be found at the bottom of my blog each week), sponsored by Sacha at Sacha’s Saucy Snippets and Chelsea at Hearts & Scars:
  1. Yellow
  2. Getting Ready
  3. Bright
  4. Teeny Tiny
  5. Connections

Again, thank you to Sacha at Sacha’s Saucy Snippets and Chelsea at Hearts & Scars for so many great scavenger hunt items. If you’d like to contribute items to the list, just send me an email with your suggestions (I can better keep track of them this way – and I appreciate all of you that have submitted lists already…my SHS file is quite happy). Each week, I will select one reader’s prompt list, add those items to what is currently on tap and give the selected reader a shout out on my blog during Scavenger Hunt Sunday.

Happy Shooting!

    Ooooh, I love the pinwheel!

I love the pinwheel, too! And Fallen, so sweet!

Love your ordinary color and fences!

It is amazing the things you figure out how to do while your hands are full when you are a mommy!

Congrats to you and your family!

Lovely photos all and this time I like most your 3. and 5. pics !!!!!

    Have a nice week !

Awww, love your fallen and the interpretation and your ordinary color is great!!!

Wonderful photos to the different themes. I like them all. Your second photo is my favorite. Have a nice Sunday. Hugs, Synnöve

I totally could relate to how you’ve fallen in love with your daughter. I remember thinking to myself when the kids were babies that much as I love them, I’d also fallen in love with them. :)

Such fabulous photographs. I really like your bokeh picture, lovely light.

Beautiful photos. I love your fallen and fence. Your daughter is getting bigger

Love the fence photo. It looks like a maze.

Ordinary color is amazing! Wow! And fallen, so so so sweet!

Your girl’s baby blues are so enchanting. Fence wars. Sounds like a good name for a funny movie. Don’t go worrying about that siding-it’s an easy fix when you’re ready.

On another note-I’ve tried several times to copy your button and make it work and it’s not. I get a square idicating an icon with about 10-12 figures of HTML underneath. Don’t know if others are having trouble, but thought I’d mention it.

Hope you arve having a great weekend and congrats on the new family addition.

Oh that fallen is so very sweet Ashley. I can’t believe how big she is already.

That’s a precious pic of your little girl. What an angel ~ Isn’t it magical to fall in love over and over again! It never stops! That pinwheel shot is my favorite!

Love your fence shot, it’s really great. The B&W makes all those different fence styles show up!! Beautiful, sweet photo of your daughter! I love how she’s looking straight at you with those beautiful eyes!

Love bokeh and fallen she is a beautiful little girl Ashley!

Felicity is going to have to make friends with the house with the play sturcture! Lovely set. I think we’ve all fallen for Felicity through your photos.

Great set, as always! Love fallen and bokeh! The fence photo made me chuckle. There are a few houses in our area that have done something similar. I couldn’t remember exactly where they were located or else I would have photographed them this week.

Congrats on being a new aunt! Love the capture of Felicity. The B&W is a good edit for the fence pict.

All such beautiful images, Ashley! Felicity is growing so fast. I love your Ordinary Colour shot & your Bokeh. Thanks for hosting!!

i really like the different fences! thanks for always hosting a great scavenger hunt!

    Love your bokeh!!

I love the shot of your little girl. Thanks for hosting this meme.

Love that pinwheel shot. So glad you have fallen head over heels for Felicity. I hope she is eating well and giving you a little more rest at night.

Great set – totally get the ‘fallen head over heels’ for Felicity. First time I set eyes on my first born I felt a wave of uncompairable love.

Great bunch of pics! I really love that “ordinary color” photo. Fantastic.

beautiful set, fallen was my favorite!!

Wow! Felicity is growing so quickly! So precious. Love your fallen shot!

    Dear Ashley,

I LOVE the fence shot. I can just see in my mind’s eye the buidlng of them over time. Funny! Your daughter is so lovely.

What vibrant colors in ordinary colors! Felicity is precious who wouldn’t have fallen in love!

Love your little ones blue eyes who wouldn’t fall in love with her.

Oh Ashley. I think I’ve fallen for her too. How is it she keeps getting cuter and more beautiful? I think it’s the eyes…and I can’t wait to see what color her hair will be. (sigh)

Love the pinwheel…although my favorite is Fallen…too sweet…

ok the fence shot is funny! =) we have a mini version of that…. our neighbors on eihter side have different fences… so we went with black decorative “cast iron” looking fencing to try to blend them in without another wood medium! ;) and yes… sweet blue eyed baby too!

Felicity is starting to focus on the camera!

Now that you say so, it does look like the War of the Fences!
Ordinary color is lovely and sweet!
How could you not fall in love with such a precious angel?!
