Scavenger Hunt Sunday
Scavenger Hunt Sunday
Welcome back to another week of Scavenger Hunt Sunday. I can’t even tell you what all we did this week because the week just slipped away from me, but my back is fairly sore so I think that means we’ve been playing on the floor a lot. Either that, or I’ve gotten old overnight. Um…I think I may believe the later a little more. Either way, thank goodness it’s Sunday. Today I’ll be meeting up with one of my college friends and her family for a little portrait session. I’ll plan to share a preview of my favorite shots at some point this week.

With that said, let’s get to the hunt. If you’ve participated in the Scavenger Hunt in the past, I hope this week’s items inspired you. If you’re new to the Scavenger Hunt…WELCOME! Next week’s items are sponsored by Verna at Lantz…Army of 5.

The rules are simple:
  1. Anyone can participate.
  2. You’re encouraged to take five new photos this week for the challenge. Creativity is also encouraged!
  3. If you get stumped, you may use one photo from your archive (although I’m not too strict about it – I do my best to take fresh shots).
  4. Link up here on Sunday (or Tuesday at the latest) – you can use the button above.
  5. Leave comments for at least five entries around yours (with so many new participants each week, it’s the only way I know to be inclusive).
  6. Have fun!
Without further discussion…here are my interpretations this week:

1. Nature

The leaves are quickly falling off the trees here in North Carolina, although I think it’s actually peak season where I live. Here’s one of my shots from earlier in the week.

2. Vintage or Retro

Felicity wearing a vintage Feltman gown
I thought for this prompt, I would dress Felicity in one of the gowns I wore as a baby…vintage Feltman Brothers. Baby blue to match her eyes.

3. Whimsical

My style is rather whimsical, but I wasn’t quite sure what to photograph. When in doubt, find your dictionary.

4. Cooking

I don’t cook…yet, but I occasionally bake. Earlier this week I made some cider bread to go with our chicken noodle soup. It’s meant to be beer bread, but I haven’t had a beer in a very long time. I do enjoy a good hard apple cider though. Yum.

5. Week’s Best

Whether or not this is my best shot this week is debatable, however, I didn’t exactly do a ton of shooting this week either. My client shoot was rescheduled for today so I’m sure to have a lot more to choose from. This particular shot was used in my latest Mortal Muses’ post. In case you missed it, click HERE.

So, what were your interpretations of the items this week? Be sure to load your pictures on your blog (or your Flickr photostream) and link up at the bottom of this post. Feel free to grab a button to display on your blog along with your scavenger hunt items. The linky will be open until Tuesday night at midnight (EST). If you didn’t participate this week, but want to participate next week, here are your items (these can also be found at the bottom of my blog each week), sponsored by Verna at Lantz…Army of 5:
  1. Vision
  2. Strong
  3. Buttons
  4. Map
  5. Favorite Fruit

Again, thank you to Verna at Lantz…Army of 5 for so many great scavenger hunt items. If you’d like to contribute items to the list, just send me an email with your suggestions (I can better keep track of them this way). Each week, I will select one reader’s prompt list, add those items to what is currently on tap and give the selected reader a shout out on my blog during Scavenger Hunt Sunday.

Happy Shooting!

Ashley, your baby is just precious! The expresson on her face and the way her hair goes up in the back looks so cool! You could sure put some cute sayi ngs to that pix :)

Beautiful pictures! They are all incredible, as usual…but I think my favorite is actually whimsical or cooking. :)

The one of Felicity is precious and priceless. Gave me a grin right away!

These are all just great; Felicity looks right at home in your baby dress and I absolutely love the perspective of your baking bread shot. Great set.

Nice set of photos this week. You chose well for the week’s best. You’ve got the bread in the oven and I shot the chicken soup cooking on top – we should get together!

    Very, very pretty set!

Love the portrait of F! She looks joyful. We had quite a collection of Feltman Brothers dresses for our daughter, which I’m saving for her! Love the whole set here Ashley! Last one is stunning!

    Great series Ashley.

Love that you captured both the bold colors of fall and the fading hues. Your daughter is adorable…bright eyed and precious in that dress! My favorite is your take on whimsical! Have a great week, and thanks for hosting!

I so enjoy watching your sweet little one continue to grow and develop each week. I know how much you are enjoying her and how much joy she has brought to your life. Beautiful photos this week.

I think that’s my favortie shot of Felicity you shared thus far. Those blues are going to be heartbreakers-in fact they probably already are.
I don’t know if that’s your best of the week, but if it isn’t, you must have something super awesome hiding in the camera.

    lovely photos all!
Felicity is beautiful, and lovely in blue!
    Cider bread sounds yummy!

Am i imaging it or is that baby girl just getting cuter and cuter!? Such personality on that sweet face.

These are awesome! All of them are great, but I think my favorites are nature and weeks best.

Great shots, Ashley – love the fall color!

Lovely set of pictures, Ashely. Felicity is so pretty! Great color capture in your leaf pictures.

Wonderful set, as always! Love the photo of Felicity! How great that you have a gown from when you were a baby. Her baby blues are stunning! Love the last shot also. Our leaves are mostly all gone. :(

    Great set.
Just loved Felicity in the Vintage outfit – She is getting cuter and cuter.
Weeks best is so pretty and your Whimsical take was so well done. Loved it.

Felicity pics never get old… love your old dress… though I have a hard time calling it vintage since that means I could be old enough to be your mother! lol! ;) anyway… Love your baking and whimsical shots too! ps baby floor time is the best.. those days will be gone too soon… enjoy them!!

Your best photo is awesome – love it!

Oh isn’t she adorable- look at her getting so big.

    Great set love your whimsical…

Your little cutie is sure growing . . . love the twinkle in her eye and the soft colouin that shot.

These are great. I LOVE that last one. Gorgeous.

Your nature photo is amazing.. LOVE IT..

When I was little, my grandmother spent a small fortune on Feltman Brother’s dresses for me to wear. My mom still talks about them and how ridiculously obsessed with their ruffles my grandma was. Miss Felicity is getting so big! She looks like she has the sweetest little disposition. :)
