Last week, I met up with Liam and his mother, Anna, on his six month birthday for a little photo shoot. I’ve known Anna for years (she’s been my hair stylist for a while), but it’s been almost 11 months since I last saw Anna. I was supposed to have my hair done in early July just before my due date – Felicity threw a wrench in that plan. Anyways, I was so glad when Anna asked if I would take Liam’s six month photos. Not only did I want to meet the newest man in Anna’s life, but I couldn’t wait to catch up with an old friend. I also had every intention of making sure she got in front of the camera. I mean really people, she’s gorgeous. Luckily, the rain decided to hold off for us. I remember telling Anna that overcast would be fine (even preferred)…rain is not. And thank goodness it was overcast – the humidity was through the roof. Can you imagine if it had been sunny? For those of you who live relatively close to me (Raleigh/Durham, NC), we met up at Joyner Park in Wake Forest. I know a lot of photographers in the area use this park on a regular basis for portrait sessions. It’s a bit of a drive for me so I don’t shoot as often. Either way, it really does make a beautiful backdrop…and during the week, it’s relatively empty. Not that it matters, but I have a tendency to act ridiculous when I’ve got a camera in my hand. Liam didn’t mind one bit. He is such a sweet baby. His mom and dad definitely won the jack pot when he was born (for the record…so did I). Makes me even more excited to photograph him again at 9 and 12 months. Looking back, I remember how much of a difference those three months make between six and nine months. For Felicity, that meant she was no longer willing to smile for me. I really hope that doesn’t happen to Liam. On a positive note, he’ll likely be standing up or at least sitting up well. Anyways, we had quite a blast last week. In fact, I don’t think I’ll wait until Liam is nine months old to hang out with them again. Felicity always enjoys getting out of the house – especially when she has cute babies to hang out with. I also understand that Anna and Liam own horses. Cough Cough – we’d love to come out to see them sometime. And on that note (naked baby butt), I hope you enjoyed today’s preview. Thanks again Anna for sending me a message. I can’t wait to see you again.
