Welcome back to Wittle People Wednesday! Saturday afternoon, Felicity and I were getting ready for church when I decided that I wanted to pull out my “studio” equipment for an impromptu photo shoot. Most of my equipment sits in our spare bedroom because I’d rather use natural light (which I still use even with my seamless paper) in un-staged environments. However, since she was wearing a khaki dress…I thought it might be interesting to see her against my mocha backdrop.
But, before we get to my photos….if this is your first time linking up, I only have two rules (and one suggestion):
1) Only share photos you took yourself (or photos taken of you – be sure to give credit to your photographer).
2) Don’t steal any photos shared through this meme.
3) Suggestion: copy and paste my new button to your blog so others know you’re participating.
I should also mention that your “wittle ones” can include your own children, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and/or clients…as long as you were the one holding the camera. I fully recognize that “wittle ones” vary in age – so feel free to link up whoever you think of as “wittle.”
With that said, here’s a few photos:
Unfortunately, Felicity had other plans. She has entered “toddlerhood” which means sitting still is reserved for car rides (forced stillness) and sleeping. Without her daddy standing behind me to distract her, I’m lucky to get a smile.
Smiling isn’t exactly reality though. I clearly have a photographer’s daughter – by this, I mean that because she sees a camera so often, she gives me this stern look as if to say “seriously mom, get that camera out of my face.” Or…she yells at me. The yelling is actually quite funny.
I’m sure you’ve seen this trick before (and probably used it yourself) – give the child something to play with. On Saturday, I gave her a small decorative box that said LOVE, some toys, my lens cap and anything else I had laying around. While this does keep her hands busy, she tends not to look up.
When she does look up, she almost looks sad. I promise I don’t beat my child. She really is quite happy…most of the time.
Either way, I think she’s beautiful…with or without a smile.
