Scavenger Hunt Sunday
Welcome back to Scavenger Hunt Sunday. We’ve had another good week…and weekend. Yesterday, we checked out a couple of local festivals and today, we’re going to hang out with one of my husband’s cousins – at her husband’s family farm. With beautiful fall temperatures, it’s bound to be a beautiful weekend. In the meantiime, let’s get to the scavenger hunt. For those of you who didn’t participate this week, but want to participate next week…next week’s list was taken from Fat Mum Slim’s Photo A Day: October.

The rules are simple:
  1. Anyone can participate.
  2. You’re encouraged to take five new photos this week for the challenge. Creativity is also encouraged!
  3. If you get stumped, you may use one photo from your archive (although I’m not too strict about it – I do my best to take fresh shots).
  4. Link up here on Sunday (or Tuesday at the latest) – you can use the button above.
  5. Leave comments for at least five entries around yours (with so many new participants each week, it’s the only way I know to be inclusive
  6. Have fun!
Without further discussion…here are my interpretations this week:

1. Rule of Thirds

IMG_9482 RS
Maddie was so happy to be celebrating her first birthday last weekend. I captured so many beautiful smiles, including this one that I think follows the rule of thirds…or it’s at least close.

2. Made Me Smile

IMG_9670 RS
It made me smile to see Felicity pick up a toy camera and put it to her face just like her mama. I’ve got this particular toy camera on her Christmas wishlist – I’m fairly certain that it’ll show up in her stocking (if I can wait that long).

3. Lines

Stripes and Pony Tails RS
For those of you that see us out and about, you know that I typically have Felicity in a smocked outfit from my mom’s shop. I also have a fair amount of casual clothing for around the house…including this striped shirt. The other day, we were just hanging out and I decided to see what her hair would look like in a pony tail. Next up, pig tails!

4. Lines

Tractor Girl RS
If you’re friends with me on Facebook, you’ve already seen this shot taken right after our nephew’s birthday party. She’s alone in this shot – looking back, I really wish that we had gotten a picture of Felicity and Logan together. Unfortunately, she wasn’t in the best of moods (you can probably tell by just looking at her) and Logan had an ear infection so he wasn’t feeling great either.

5. Together

IMG_9573 RS
On the other hand, Felicity and Maddie love to be together…and my husband loves to hold them both in his arms whenever he has a chance. I love love love that Felicity has a friend so close in age. I hope that they’ll remain friends over the years.

So, what were your interpretations of the items this week? Be sure to load your pictures on your blog (or your Flickr photostream) and link up at the bottom of this post. Feel free to grab a button to display on your blog along with your scavenger hunt items. The linky will be open until Tuesday night at midnight (EST). If you didn’t participate this week, but want to participate next week, here’s your list.

  1. Something Colorful
  2. Light
  3. You
  4. In Motion
  5. Afternoon

If you’d like to contribute items to the list, just send me an email with your suggestions (I can better keep track of them this way). Each week, I will select one reader’s prompt list and give the selected reader a shout out on my blog during Scavenger Hunt Sunday.

Happy Shooting!

I am so glad that you got a pic of Felicity holding the camera up to her eye. She is so smart.

What a cute shirt. I love the buttons on the shoulder.

& Of Course I LOVE the Miss Maddie pictures!

Goodness Felicity has an abundance of cute clothes. I love the little tractors that are on her outfit in the “Alone” shot. The little pony-tail in the Lines shot is a cute look for her but I bet pig-tails will be even cuter.

Oh how sweet. I used to put my little girls in ponytails when there hair was abot as long as your Feliity’s. She looks adorable.

Oh my gosh…the little tractors on her dress! How prescious! Love her pony tail too.

Such great photographs – you really do have a beautiful family.

Like mother, like daughter. Love that camera shot :)

Oh my- it warms my heart to see her holding the camera. We always joke that the kids will have to know everything about photography before they move out since I will no longer be in charge of documenting their lives. They will have to create their own beautiful memories for the most part & promised to make sure they can.

    Hi Ashley,
Beautiful shots, your girl is getting so big. She’s a cutie. Have a great day!

They are such cute kids – they make me a little homesick for my grandbabies.

Your photos are always so beautiful! LOVE the chevron dress! And the toy camera!

Ponytail and stripes! She is growing up so quickly! Love the John Deere tractor dress, too!

Adorable! I love the way Felicity looks with that cute ponytail.

That face in ‘lines’ photo is precious!

Oh my, I just love that picture of Felicity holding the camera. So adorable. And I have to say that white and yellow dress is so cute on her. I didn’t even notice the tractors until I read the above comment.
Oh, and thanks for making this coming week easy. Now I have another reason to take my Photo a Day shots and not slack on it.
