Scavenger Hunt Sunday
Welcome back to Scavenger Hunt Sunday and Merry Christmas! A couple of weeks ago, I posted the list for Memories, Dreams and Reflections. If you haven’t participated before…or you just missed it, click HERE. In fact, MDR will launch on January 1st so you have just a little over a week to pull your photos together. With that said, I thought we’d take next week off from the scavenger hunt to enjoy our families. I’ll try to come back and post a list so come back next week and see if I posted anything. Heck, we may take two weeks off – I just haven’t decided yet. Either way, I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and New Years. I’m hopeful that 2014 will bring SHS back to it’s original glory with many more participants…and a lot more participation from me. I really miss visiting your blogs and I’m committed to reconnecting with you all.

The rules are simple:
  1. Anyone can participate.
  2. You’re encouraged to take five new photos this week for the challenge. Creativity is also encouraged!
  3. If you get stumped, you may use one photo from your archive (although I’m not too strict about it – I do my best to take fresh shots).
  4. Link up here on Sunday (or Tuesday at the latest) – you can use the button above.
  5. Leave comments for at least five entries around yours (with so many new participants each week, it’s the only way I know to be inclusive
  6. Have fun!

Without further discussion…here are my interpretations this week:

1. Lights

Twinkly Lights RS
Earlier this week, I attempted to photograph Felicity in front of “twinkly lights.” It was a fail. I should probably just give up any staged shots until she’s older – I mean, let’s be honest, most toddlers don’t want to sit still for photos. On the left, you’ll find Felicity crying because she doesn’t want to sit still. I thought holding a light up snowman might help – nope. On the right, I’ve bribed her with a bell (she loves this bell). She’s much happier. I also decided to clone in some more lights and brighten it up a bit more than the first shot.

2. Tree

tree ornament RS
You’ll see our Christmas tree a little later in this post, but I decided for this prompt that I would go outside and photograph one of my ornaments on the bare tree in our front yard. I made this little ornament with Felicity’s hand last year. I love it!

3. Big

2012 vs 2013 BIG RS
Felicity brought me her photo album the other morning, wanting me to show her pictures of herself. When I got to last December, I was happy to see a version of a photo that I took just a week or so ago. When I paired them side by side, I was amazed at how BIG Felicity has gotten in a year. Time really does fly doesn’t it?

4. Makes You Feel Merry

Oh Christmas Tree RS
Nothing makes me feel more merry than to see a child admiring a Christmas tree in the dark. I shared this photo on Facebook, but I don’t think I’ve shared it here. It’s not perfect, but I love it.

5. On the Door

Cat on the Door RS
Last year, my mom gave me this Christmas Kitty to hang on our door. Since she gave it to me after the holidays, I’ve been waiting all year to put it up. It kinda looks like Kitty Paw, which makes me happy!

So, what were your interpretations of the items this week? Be sure to load your pictures on your blog (or your Flickr photostream) and link up at the bottom of this post. Feel free to grab a button to display on your blog along with your scavenger hunt items. The linky will be open until the end of the year.

If you’d like to contribute items to the list, just send me an email with your suggestions (I can better keep track of them this way). Each week, I will select one reader’s prompt list and give the selected reader a shout out on my blog during Scavenger Hunt Sunday.

Happy Shooting!
