Scavenger Hunt Sunday
Scavenger Hunt Sunday
Welcome back to Scavenger Hunt Sunday. I failed those of you who participated last week. Interestingly enough, I’ve had quite a few client sessions in the past week…which of course takes up a lot of my time. Who knew I’d be busy in January and February is already starting to book up. No complaints here! But enough about me. For those of you who didn’t participate this week, but want to participate next week…next week’s list is sponsored by John Roberts. Thanks so much John for giving me some fresh prompts. Keep them coming!

The rules are simple:
  1. Anyone can participate.
  2. You’re encouraged to take five new photos this week for the challenge. Creativity is also encouraged!
  3. If you get stumped, you may use one photo from your archive (although I’m not too strict about it – I do my best to take fresh shots).
  4. Link up here on Sunday (or Tuesday at the latest) – you can use the button above.
  5. Leave comments for at least five entries around yours (with so many new participants each week, it’s the only way I know to be inclusive
  6. Have fun!

Without further discussion…here are my interpretations this week:

1. Beverage

Bellamy's Birthday - Beverages
At Bellamy’s party last weekend, we had our choice of rainwater (water), mud puddle soup (hot chocolate – which was AMAZING) and a taste of sunshine (lemonade). I think I had one of each at it was all delicious.

2. Snuggle

Photo shoot snuggle RS
After we called it quits on Friday morning, Felicity and Maddie gave me a sweet snuggle. Baby Cinderella was included! As you can tell, Felicity wasn’t thrilled about having her picture taken.

3. Thick

More Snow RS
We had another bout of snow this week. It actually snowed quite a bit more than it did last week. I was hopeful that since Felicity had already been out in the snow before, that she would be more excited to go this go round. Just the opposite. Our grass is already thick. When the snow laid on it, it was even thicker and she just couldn’t pick up her feet well.

4. Behind the Lens

Behind the Scenes RS
I am normally behind the lens. However, when it came time to (attempt to) take Felicity’s Valentine’s photo, Michelle had to step in. On the left you see a hint of what’s really going on. I’m singing…at one point, I was dancing. There were tears and lots of hugs. On the right, the best shot of the morning. You might have never known how much work went into getting that one shot if I didn’t tell you. All photo shoots are not an immediate success. If you ever think that a photographer’s job is easy…well, we make it look easy.

5. Where Were You

7F1A2834 RS
On Friday afternoon, I met up with Brin and Brent at Joyner Park in Wake Forest, NC. Brin is expecting a little boy in April. LOTS more to come from this session later in the week.

So, what were your interpretations of the items this week? Be sure to load your pictures on your blog (or your Flickr photostream) and link up at the bottom of this post. Feel free to grab a button to display on your blog along with your scavenger hunt items. The linky will be open until Tuesday night at midnight (EST). If you didn’t participate this week, but want to participate next week, here’s your list.

  1. Looking Up
  2. Light
  3. Favorite Mobile Device
  4. Outside
  5. Inside

If you’d like to contribute items to the list, just send me an email with your suggestions (I can better keep track of them this way). Each week, I will select one reader’s prompt list and give the selected reader a shout out on my blog during Scavenger Hunt Sunday.

Happy Shooting!

That skirt Felicity is wearing is adorable.

The shot of Brin and Brent is lovely and sweet.

My girls loved the snow when the were little! My younger one really doesn’t like winter now -she hates to be cold. But, my older daughter still loves to get out and play in it and she’s 25!

Great shots all of them. When something looks easy it is generally because somebody has worked their you know what off. Back in the day when our young man was little it took considerable work and ingenuity from the photography to coax a smile out of him sometimes.

What a lovely collection of pictures. Felicity is just adorable in her outfit for the Valentine’s Picture. That skirt is so cute. I love the picture of her in the snow, and her expression is too cute. I have to say, I love the unique names for the beverages.

Wow, Ashley, I had fun with these items, but I especially got excited over your stove top and crock pot, and screamed, Hubby come quick. We have the exact stove, and totally same crock pot, as you, and then hubby even noticed, and they have a white counter top just like ours! Too funny, and I’m not even sure if it’s your house, but how cool is that?! It was like wow, who was in my kitchen! I liked your last photo so much, (getting so tired of snow) that I posted one picture from last summer!

    Lovely shots!

Asley, I can’t help but love that photo of Felicity walking in the snow. I wonder if she will learn to like it. My daughter was always so excited when it snowed (rarely). She went across the street to ask her friend to play with her in it. Her response was “Come back in the spring!”.

Love the names of the beverages! So creative! Sweet photos of Felicity in her rain boots and V-day outfit! Beautiful maternity shot also! Glad you are keeping busy!

I love that snuggling shot! So cute. You always make the photos looks o perfect. It gives me hope to see that they don’t always go smoothly.
