Scavenger Hunt Sunday
Scavenger Hunt Sunday
Welcome back to Scavenger Hunt Sunday. It’s 9:30 pm on Saturday night, and I’m holding a sick baby in my lap while I type this week’s Scavenger Hunt. Last weekend, we were visiting my in-laws. We had a great time, but I once again failed those who participated in last week’s hunt. Once we got home from that trip, my week simply disappeared. Before I knew it, it was Saturday. So, I apologize. I’ll do better. For those of you who didn’t participate this week, but want to participate next week…next week’s list is sponsored by Kimberly Vensel. Thanks so much Kimberly for giving me some fresh prompts (even if I am pulling from an old list). Keep them coming!

The rules are simple:
  1. Anyone can participate.
  2. You’re encouraged to take five new photos this week for the challenge. Creativity is also encouraged!
  3. If you get stumped, you may use one photo from your archive (although I’m not too strict about it – I do my best to take fresh shots).
  4. Link up here on Sunday (or Tuesday at the latest) – you can use the button above.
  5. Leave comments for at least five entries around yours (with so many new participants each week, it’s the only way I know to be inclusive
  6. Have fun!

Without further discussion…here are my interpretations this week:

1. Looking Up

Up Up and Away Spread v2 RS
On Friday, I shared a series of photos from our “balloon” day. My initial goal was to take a Valentine photo of her holding these red balloons. It was going to be ADORABLE. Well, it was a bit colder than I thought it was supposed to be…she didn’t like having her photo taken…and I failed to add a weight to the balloons. As you see in this collage, she didn’t like the balloons tied around her wrist so she got them off and they flew away within seconds of getting them on her. As soon as she saw them fly away, she was disappointed. I learned my lesson.

2. Light

7F1A3065 RS
I do love the golden hour and all it’s beautiful light. In these shots, the light was on the right side of the frame…very sweet.

3. Favorite Mobile Device

Choo Choo RS
I’m pretty sure this had to do with phones, but I went with anything that is “mobile.” Carter (our nephew)’s favorite mobile device is his trains. He was so sweet this weekend to let Felicity play with them – he was also sick.

4. Outside

Turkey in the Fog RS
On Monday morning, I looked outside and saw fog hanging over the mountain. I’m rarely out and about with my camera to capture fog so when I saw it at my in-laws, I had to step outside. Would you have known that those are turkey in the grass?

5. Inside

Playing with trains RS
Sunday was gorgeous. Felicity’s Paw Paw took all the kids out to play before the Super Bowl Party. After a while, it started getting cool so we took our play inside. I followed Carter. He found a quiet place beside his train table to play with his very favorite trains.

So, what were your interpretations of the items this week? Be sure to load your pictures on your blog (or your Flickr photostream) and link up at the bottom of this post. Feel free to grab a button to display on your blog along with your scavenger hunt items. The linky will be open until Tuesday night at midnight (EST). If you didn’t participate this week, but want to participate next week, here’s your list.

  1. Camouflaged
  2. Nutty
  3. Old Style
  4. Haphazard
  5. Monochromatic

If you’d like to contribute items to the list, just send me an email with your suggestions (I can better keep track of them this way). Each week, I will select one reader’s prompt list and give the selected reader a shout out on my blog during Scavenger Hunt Sunday.

Happy Shooting!

I am IN LOVE with your foggy Mountain Turkey photo. It is breath taking.

Indeed the treatment of the early morning fog is very nicely done.

Amazing outdoor photo, possibly my favorite today, but then the whole looking up is hard not to like most of all. Interesting hunt for next week too!

Beautiful set, as always! Love that series with Felicity and the balloons! And your foggy morning photo is absolutely gorgeous! Thanks for using my list for next week!

Such great photos. I’ve lost several balloons when son was younger when he did the exact same thing.

    I love the light photo.

I love to see kids playing with toys rather than electronic stuff. And it is great to see the older kids letting the youngers play with their toys.

Thank you so much for hosting this meme.

Ahhhh! Love the balloon shots with Felicity. Your outside photo is awesome! I am back to participating! YAY!

    Stunning outside shot!

Isn’t it funny how she didn’t seem to interested in those balloons until they were gone. Poor thing, that must have been a bummer.

Absolutely LOVED your Outside shot of the Turkeys in the fog.

Nice set of images. I really like the image for “Light”. The glistening ice on the branches is just wonderful. Have a blessed day.

    Gorgoeus morning fog photo.

My son loves Thomas the train. Love your pictures

Ashley, I love the fog in the mountains photo. The first time I saw turkeys in the wild I was just amazed. I had already driven past them before it really dawned on me what they were. I’m sorry you lost the balloons but they sure made a great shot!

oh no! so sorry the balloon photo shoot went bad! but what a story! :) at least she looks adorable in the shot you captured! and i love those trains with your nephew… reminds me of our own train days, too long past!

Lovely caputres as always, especially that shot of the fog in the mountains. Very beautiful. Sorry to hear about the sick little one. Hope she’s feeling better.
