Last Friday, I had the pleasure of photographing Adam, Christina and Tyler at Yates Mill in Raleigh, NC. Yates Mill is usually flooded with photographers and their clients…so it was nice to come on an “off” day. Okay, so it was also 40 something degrees outside, but the leaves were still beautiful. As far as I’m concerned, we had a perfect afternoon.
Adam and my husband have been friends for a lifetime…well, since college. I met Adam a few years ago and it was as if I met the male version of myself.
He’s also a photographer so we enjoy talking shop every so often.
He brought Christina and Tyler into the fold maybe a year ago? I have a hard time keeping track of time anymore. Honestly, it feels like they’ve always been around.
Several months ago, I borrowed Tyler for a
Daily Mom photo shoot. In exchange for his time, I offered to do some family photos. And I’m so glad they took me up on this offer. I love photographing my friends.
Truth be told, most of my clients become friends. I guess that’s just how I roll.
This was also my first time shooting at Yates Mill with a “client.” We’ve taken our family there once before (last fall), but I haven’t taken any clients out there until now…mostly because it has a tendency to get crowded. However, I think I’ll make a point to return soon.
Oh, I should mention their cute “pinterest-inspired” sign. Adam and Christina worked on that one for a few hours at least…and I think they nailed it! I told them that this would definitely not be going up on the “pinterest fail” board.
All you need is love – it really is that simple.
Thanks Adam, Christina and Tyler for working with me. I am loving all the fall colors in your photos and I hope to see at least one of these printed in your home soon!
