I ♥ TEXTURE – WEEK 4 CHALLENGE

This week’s i ♥ faces challenge is to submit a photo that incorporates texture in an interesting and beautiful way. I can’t help but bring back a picture I took of my husband’s nephew over the weekend. He’s 5 and often makes it difficult for me to take a picture of him – as you can see, I barely got him in the frame. On top of that, we were in my husband’s grandparents’ old cabin…and the lighting is a bit of a challenge. But, I took advantage of it and added a vintage feel to the picture. Because I can…here are a few more pictures from Michael’s 50th Birthday Party last night. I love the way Andy is looking at Sarah. She’s clearly the “ham” between the two of them (love ya Sayrah), but you can tell how much he loves her when she’s not paying any attention. I posted a picture of this kid last night. He’s so freaking cute….even if he is hiding! And of course – Zander playing his mandolin. Very cute. I also took some of Alyssa and Carter, but haven’t quite done my magic. APERTURE PRIORITY MODE

Slowly but surely, I’m trying to get out of shooting in full auto mode. A few days ago, we had great light shining in our dining room. I thought I’d be able to get a shot of my cat, but she wouldn’t give me the time of day…so, our faux flower arrangement became my subject.
