Inspired: One Photo, Three Edits

November 17, 2010
I’m not sure what has inspired this overwhelming feeling of joy and creativity lately, but I’m going to blame it on Kim Klassen. I signed up for her PSE skinny mini e-course a couple of weeks ago thinking I might not learn anything new, but that I could at least reinforce some of her lessons though my tutorials. As it turns out, I’ve learned a couple of new tricks and  I’ve been inspired to change up my processing. Here is a nearly SOOC shot (I overexposed it on purpose and recovered some of the blacks in Adobe Camera Raw). Using some of Kim’s processing steps,...
Fix-MyPhoto Friday

November 12, 2010
Some of you may remember that I Heart Faces’ Fix-It Friday used to feature reader photos. In June, they had to change their approach: read about it HERE. Believe it not, I sleep with this little guy…he brings me peace and helps me sleep. For more brown photos (and happy moments) , go to: I obviously used a lot of texture on the above shot, so I thought I’d take a step back and share my SOOC shot…and also share my texture...
Fix-It Friday

November 05, 2010
It’s been a long time since I’ve participated in I Heart Faces’ Fix-It Friday, but this week’s photo inspired me, so I thought I’d give my take on it. Before I share my fix, I want to thank Michelle for providing such a beautiful picture of your daughter. Here is the SOOC shot: There are so many things that I love about this shot, but it starts with the lighting and the lighting is so pretty. I’m sure she would have loved to have her daughter look up a little more, but there’s something really sweet about the look on her face. Having a clean shot...
