On Mother’s Day, rather than going to a “Mother’s Day Brunch,” I decided that I just wanted to spend the day with my family. I also wanted to go to take Felicity to the zoo before it got too hot this summer. My husband and I once went during July and that was a HORRIBLE idea. Surprisingly enough, Felicity LOVED the zoo. You are my sunshine, my only sunshine, you make me happy, when skies are gray… This past weekend, we celebrated Bellamy’s first birthday. The theme – “You Are My Sunshine.” The menu was complete with sun chips, marshmallow clouds, raindrops (yogurt melts), mud puddle soup (hot chocolate), rain water, and sips of sunshine (lemonade). On Friday, the 13th, Felicity and I met up with Michelle and Madeline…and Anna and Liam to go to Pullen Park’s annual Holiday Express. I also decided that this would be the perfect opportunity to throw Felicity’s hair into pigtails. Isn’t she adorable?! In an effort to avoid long lines, we arrived at the bus pick up spot early…and had our arm bands ready to go. If you’re one of those people who finds this post via Google, I fully recommend to pick up your armbands early if you can…and to attend on Friday (versus Saturday or Sunday)....

Last week, I met up with the “P” family as a family of three for one last time. As of February, this little family of three will become a family of five…and Zan will no longer be an only child.
