Hot Days, Peach Tea and Snail Shells

July 15, 2011
It has been an incredibly hot (and humid) week. Normally, as long as I’m indoors, it doesn’t bother me. This week was the exception…our HVAC at work was less than accurate. I’ve been complaining about the air conditioning for over a month. My manager and I have this ongoing battle with the AC. He comes in fairly early, turns it down (below what’s recommended but I’m not sure it matters considering I never see it go below 74) and then we watch as the temperature steadily increases. This week, it seemed to be getting warmer than usual. Since my manager was out...

Boom, Boom, POW!

July 08, 2011
This year, we celebrated Independence Day with our friends Karen and John. You might remember Karen and John from THIS POST – I had the treat of taking their wedding “day after” photos.  John’s Grandfather’s flag – he fought in World War II.I’m pretty sure that we would have grilled hamburgers and hot dogs had we not gone over to Karen and John’s house…which would have been fine. I suppose that hasn’t always been the case. I used to spend my summers in a swimsuit at Camp Don Lee. I hardly remember it being so hot and humid then…although, I guess it didn’t really matter considering we wore so little clothing. My skin would turn golden brown during those summers. In my adulthood, summers aren’t nearly as fun…summer days are just like any other day. I still...

Beautiful

June 24, 2011
Ecclesiastes 3:11 “He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.” I took this shot a couple of weeks ago and finally processed it this week. I keep staring at it because I think it’s so beautiful (I’m really loving the combination of texture and use of Pixel Bender), but I have no idea what to say beyond that. I guess this is one of those times that I shouldn’t say anything at all. Have a wonderful weekend!
