Summer Vacation: Then and Now

It’s been a while since I’ve been to the beach…I mean, other than our Honeymoon last October…but here we are, on vacation! I just finished processing an impromptu event (the event wasn’t impromptu, just me photographing it) from the weekend and opened up a few of the photos that I’ve taken over the past couple of days. One photo, in particular, stood out. You see, the photo below was taken when our niece was maybe a year old (the data on the photo says 2008, but I know that’s not the case – I think that’s when I stole it from my husband)....

I mentioned that this weekend we went to see some live music at a local Irish pub. Our friend, Adam, said that we had to see Lonnie Walker. There were pretty great…I’d definitely go to see them again. While we were there, we saw this couple embrace one another as if they hadn’t seen each other in months…or even years. This week’s In a Yellow House theme is Travel (how appropriate as I get on an airplane today and tomorrow). I decided that I would photograph my old passport (when I changed my name, I had to get a new one). This particular passport took me to Dubai and went with us on our honeymoon. The picture inside makes me cringe, but it does reflect a few of my life’s journeys.
