The past few weeks, I’ve been pretty bad about linking up with Alicia and Kristi’s Crazy Days of Summer challenge…but I saw that this week is the Sweet Summer Finale. Not only do we have the opportunity to share some of our favorite photos from the summer (encouraged to share photos inspired by their themes), but there’s some pretty sweet prizes too. Last weekend, my husband was working in our front yard when he noticed a few mushrooms. I must have trained him well because he immediately yelled, “Ashley, get your camera.” I think it started raining shortly after he called me outside so I told him that I would photograph them the next morning so he could promptly get rid of them.  The next day, I walked outside with my camera and macros lens. Spiderweb Bokeh

Linking up with Hallie Westcott for 50mm Friday.I’m always in awe of other people’s spiderweb photos, but never seem to run into them myself…that is until the other day on my way to lunch. Thank goodness I carry  my camera with me everywhere because I was quickly able to snap this shot. Not only did I capture the spider, his victim and his web…but I also captured that beautiful, bright bokeh! I applied Kim Klassen’s latest Magic Texture pack in post-processing. Echinacea Magnus (aka Cone flowers)

I DO NOT have a green thumb. In fact, if you see any beautiful flowers appearing on my blog, I am not to be credited. I’m doing good if I can simply water them. I know that may sound easy enough, but I tend to forget.
